I eat 1800 - 2300 cal a day and lose about 1kg / 2lb a week. I don't do excessive amounts of cardio either. EAT ladies, food is not the enemy!
Yes!I go to the gym at least 3 times a week, I try to go 5 times, should I bump up my calorie intake to 1400 on workout days, instead of 1200? I just started MFP last wednesday.
Yes! You are young, you should be eating more calories. Even with next to no activity, 16-1700 will still allow safe weight loss.5'3, 114lbs, usual intake is about 500-600
No. Not healthy. Are you missing a 1 at the beginning of those numbers? That's dangerous for the heart. Seriously, not a good idea.0 -

My calorie needs to lose 0.5/week (before exercise) is 1700, so I normally eat 1700 plus 3-800 cals from working out. (sometimes I eat more when I have really extensive workouts.) To maintain, I can eat about 2100 calories a day before eating back some of my exercise calories.0 -
Im 5'2'', 170 lbs. I eat about 1400 but I keep my net calories around 1200. I work out 5 days a week for 1-2 hrs each day. I just got back to gym 2 weeks ago and have already lost 8 lbs.0

This is a thread people love to necro. Created in '12, necroed in '13 and now again in '14. It truely is a zombie in that it refuses to stay dead.0

I eat 2000 a day. My TDEE is at 3032 so that puts me at a spot where I should lose about 2lbs a week.0
-
I'm 5"2', 125lbs, and I eat 1,360 calories a day... should lose about .5lb a week. In reality, it's a lot more erratic than that.0

Lately, I have been eating around 1200 - 3000 calories. I don't really care where I sit lol I always go above my 1200 goal... I like to eat a lot so it may be 3000 for 2 days and then 1200 for the rest of the week. I am 5'5" and a low healthy weight (I do not weigh myself but I doubt it is higher than 115). I am maintaining.
Also, I'm judging everyone who feels the need to comment that this thread is being 'necroed'. This thread does not become redundant with time. Give me a logical reason for why you would even point that out.0 -
Im aiming for 1500cals. I need to snap out of the "need to lose so much weight as quickly as possible" mindset so Im sticking to that and eating back exercise calories. Im 5"5 and 180lbs, wanting to get back to 130-140lbs x0

I'm 19, 5'5'', 140 lbs and I have around 25% body fat.
My goal is 1300-1400 calories but some days are give or take.0 -

I eat about 1750 on an average day. If I work out more than usual (so if it's a run day, for example) I eat back the exercise calories.0

I'm 5'5", 52 yrs. old, SW 195 lbs., CW 134.2 lbs.,1200 calories for a sedentary, 1.5 lb. loss per week. My weekly losses have been between 1-2 lbs. after an initial two week 10 lbs. loss. Switched a few weeks ago to a .5 lb. loss goal since I only have 10 lbs. or so to go before reaching my goal and was reset at 1270 calories.
I lost most of my weight with little to no exercise. Not a smart move, regretting it now. But, recently started walking/jogging 3-4 days a week for 60 mins., and twice a week I do a beginners bodyweight exercise program I found on nerdfitness.com. I eat back most of my exercise calories.0 -
I'm 5'4 and at maintenance so I eat 1700 on days I don't exercise. I try and eat most of my exercise calories back on days that I work out.0

I eat around 2200 every day to maintain
Currently eating 2350 to slowly gain for my bulk
Lost on 1900 calories at about 1 lb a week loss.0 -
I'm 5'4 183lbs and I'm doing 1550. I started at 1200 then upped it to 1450 and now 1550. Still losing weight. I did stall for the first week though. Then I had a whoosh of about a pound and a half.0

I'm 5'10 and eat around 1900
IMO I don't agree with the site setting people to 1200 a day. It's unrealistic to maintain and I don't think it's healthy.
If you choose to stay with the sites suggestions then all the best but I feel you should up it and start lifting and trying new cardio etc. Yes you will likely gain at first but it will level out and muscle weighs more than fat anyway. Remember that the number on the scale is just a number. Don't focus on that alone. Take measurements. All the best0 -
I'm doing TDEE -%20 and I eat between 1400-1690 a day. I'm losing about 2 pounds a month.0
