Just seen this topic and was instantly pulled in, i've not "run" for the best part of a decade. The thought of setting myself a target and having a ticker to help me along has given me the motivation to set myself a target and achieve it. My health has gradually got worse and i am now asthmatic to boot.

I've already made changes to my diet and now i can focus on the physical side of weight loss, taking it easy but logging the miles still.

Looking forward to this challenge and hopefully making some new friends along the way,

    Cheers!!

    Mark.

1st week of training complete. I usually run this much but for some reason with rules on how much to run on what days...it was way harder.

    1st 3.01
    2nd 4.3
    3rd 3
    5th 3.37
    6th 4.04

I can’t commit to the high mileage that most of you do as I can only afford one day maybe two at best a week to running but I’m down for committing to a manageable 20 miles. The last few weeks I have started running on Sunday mornings on the beach from my house to a turning point which is further each time. This past Friday since I had it off I ran six miles, so it’s reasonable to think that I can get my 20 this month.
I would run more often but I coach two youth sports four days a week and have Saturday games, sometimes up to four games. Between that and my regular workout routine my body needs the break.
Good luck to everyone on reaching their goals.
    7/4 – 6 miles
