I just started running outside for the first time to prepare for a 5K I plan on doing in a couple weeks. SO MUCH BETTER than the treadmill. My pace is a little bit slower than treadmill, but I'm also trying to figure out out to set my own pace instead of the treadmill doing it automatically for me. I just hope to break 40 minutes for the 5K (yes...I'm really slow).
Treadmill running is definitely a lot different but it has its advantages too. I noticed that I run a bit faster on a treadmill too, but I tend to get a little lazy with distance. Running outside makes me run a little slower, but I have to come home eventually so it is my motivation. I am kind of looking forward to running inside during the winter and see what going outside to inside is like.
Edit: And my mantra that I've adopted is no matter how slow you go, you are lapping everyone on the couch. I am a terribly slow runner myself, but I run.0 -
One week in and on track.

A goal to break 40 mins for a 5K is great! I prefer to run outside too, it's nice to see something besides the red lights on the treadmill0 -
