WONDER BALLS. Choking hazards waiting to happen. Delicious, though.0

I'd be in trouble if Doritos still made the spicy chips they made 25 years ago. Fortunately their recent attempts taste like burnt chemicals and salt.0

When I was a kid, there were these silver sweets called cola balls, which were a bit like aniseed balls, only silver and cola flavoured rather than aniseed flavoured.
They were taken off the market because the silver colour in them came from aluminium. (Yep in true 80s kid style, ate sweets full of toxic metals).
Anyway, yes I missed them a lot. And they never did me any harm....

I'm missing Popeye's Chicken biscuits. I've moved and the closest Popeye's is half an hour away
Most of the things I miss are more because they're not as readily available where I am now, opposed to actual availability.
Though I did find I was thinking about that clear Pepsi Max recently... anyone remember that?0 -

We didn't wear seatbelts, either. It toughened us up. We were the last generation of personal responsibility, win or die, heavy metal filled survivors! RAWR!0 -

Except the kids who died in car crashes
I didn't grow in the US so I can't really help, but I miss pretty much all the French food we can't find here0 -
Sweet Sixteen powdered donuts There are others out there, but they are just sad, sad imitations.0
-
I also miss Jello Pudding Pops.0

Indeed. I was poking mild fun at a certain segment of American punditry. And we were very fortunate never to end up on the wrong side of those statistics. I also once got a really cool crackerjack toy that bobbed up and down with temperature changes. I'm almost positive there was mercury in it, and it wasn't long before it got broken open and spilled everywhere, of course.
The first time I tasted a real eclair made by someone with at least passing knowledge of French cooking, I was ready to move to France!
Probably would be a bad move on my part if I want to keep the weight off.0 -
Chocolate chip fiberplus eggo waffles and steam and mash sweet potatoes
I keep looking and hoping they'll reappear to me, lol0 -
SPAM...my wife won't let me keep that stuff in the house. I take it camping though.0
-
I kinda miss McDonalds pizza. It's not like it was that great - it wasn't. But it had a unique taste.0
-
Clearly Canadian carbonated drink!0
-
When I was a kid there was a cereal called Team Flakes. They rocked it. If anyone knows of anything that comes close PLEASE tell me!0
-
I have been looking all over the place recently for chunky applesauce. Can't find it anywhere...
Also, Cookies n' Cream Twix and Cool Ranch Fritos. Both super unhealthy but oh so delicious!0 -
I can't find Skinny Corn Chips in the grocery stores around here anymore. It makes me sad0
-
Waffle Crisp0

A local company 'Superior Bakery' used to make Broccoli Pies that could be bought at most convenience stores. Now they only make Spinach pies that I hate. :ohwell:0

BK Chicken Fries, S'mores candy bars.0

*sigh* They really did live up to their name...0 -
I am probably too old for them but I miss Kinder Surprise whenever I'm in the states. They sell them in Mexico and Canada but the US doesn't because they're a "choking Hazard" :huh:0
-
When I was a kid, there were these nougat sticks rolled in granola and mini chocolate chips. Similar to a Payday, but smaller and the nougat was vanilla flavored and it tasted like a chewy frosting. I wish I could remember the name of them! My mother used to put these things in my lunchbox back in the early 80's. No one I know remembers them. I swear they aren't a figment of my imagination!0

Not exactly "on shelves" but the Santa Fe gorditas from Taco Bell.0
-
The Marathon Bar (it was a chocolate covered caramel candy bar that looked braided or like chain links). Those were the best, miss them. Orange flavored Live Wire Mountain Dew. If it is still made, I haven't seen it in my part of the country in years.
Carnation Chocolate Chip breakfast bars (not the kind they have now- completely different ones from when I was a child). Man, now I want these things.0 -

I know right... I used to buy 3 boxes of 3 and eat them all at once
If I had to pick one thing from France that I miss the most, it would be 'danette'. They're kind of thin puddings sold in the yoghurt section. So delicious. Pastries, croissants and cheese I can find here... Brioches and madeleines my mom can bring me... but not that.0 -
When I was a kid they had microwavable carmel popcorn. It came with this slab of caramel to put on the hot popcorn and let ot melt all over it. It's probably good they don't make it anymore, cause that caramel never made it to the popcorn without at least one bight out of it!0

I remember that, had it in college. Along with the one with the packet of cheddar cheese powder....which may still be around, I just haven't looked0
