Did my first run yesterday. I haven't "run" in a LONG time. I was shocked that I did 2 miles with moderate ease and could have gone further. Felt so good to do a run again. :-)

Hello all. I am new to this so bear with me. I am setting my goal at 50 miles. I want to start off small, so not to get discouraged. I want to lose at lease another 20 to 30 pounds. I will start this feet today.0

Ancient history by now, but a late push got be close to 111 running miles in July. Had 18 runs and 26 total workouts so overall it was a big success considering how hot it is down here in FL. July was the 13th consecutive month with 100+ miles so these threads have been a great motivator. I definitely believe in protecting a streak.
Ran 2 of the first 3 days so have 13.6 in the book already. With 4 more weeks to go (and August is a 5 weekend month, which is huge) I probably should set a goal of 114 miles, but to not jinx it, I'm just going to say 100 again. The last 5 days of the month I will be up north taking a few days off, which should be a positive in terms of getting miles in.

My goal for 2014 is to run 850 miles over the course of the year. At the end of July I was at 540.72 miles. So I need to run 62 miles for the remaining months to make my goal. So August goal is 62 miles but hoping to run more than that...but we shall see since I have not been doing so well over the summer months.
