seeing people talking about rack pulls- anyone feel they significantly impacted their lifts?

I read a few articles that said they really didn't help that much outside of perhaps a mental impact.

    Thoughts?

I'm pushing 300 but for some reason it's an issue- wondering if I should start including them.

    Deadlift 425 for 3. Goal ->500
    Bench 220 for 3. Goal ->300
    Squat 285 for 5. Goal->350

Been tinkering with my squat form for quite a while, so it's lagging my deadlift quite a bit.

Been working madcow since December with great results!

I also run on my off days, three times a week for 3.2 - 4 miles a pop.

Masters track and field sprinter, so a good strength-to-bodyweight ratio is important:

    Bench : 265 x 3
    Deadlift: 435 x 4
    Squat: 325 x 5

I haven't tried lately to find max weights. Last time I was doing 90lb dumbbells for 3. Deadlifts I don't do but more because medical stuff tho (back).. Leg press was something I did and liked it. I know one time I did get 20/45lb plates up for one but was going 17 to 17 plates for reps. Not sure or not but my body weight may have been a factor since I walked around with that. Doctors always asked how I got myself around....

    6'1", 255lbs

    Bench: 90 Dumbbells
    Squat: N/A
Leg Press: 20/45 plates (once ever)

Stuff like this is fun but I have a feeling some people might not be telling the truth. Yeah people lie on the internet, big shocker. So when I e-stat something I am going to go big or go home.

    5'11"
    weight 180
    Bench 465
    Squat 615
    Dead 765

Yeah I like the stats a lot, to bad only 2 of them are true lol.

Some nice numbers in this thread!

    I deal in KG's normally.

    Height 6ft, weight 81kg (178lbs)
    Bench 120kg (265 lbs), 1.5x bw
    Squat 160kg (352lbs), 2 x bw
    Dead 180kg (396lbs) 2.25 x bw

Those are all absolute max's at the moment, I probably hit them 70% of the time I attempt them. Squat I haven't tested in about 2 months as I have been doing plyo instead, first session back last week was horrible but it should come right again quickly. Dead is lagging, I would like to see it up to 2.5x bw but would probably need to get my body weight up to 90kg to have a chance. I've been on maintenance calories for a few months now, just started a calorie surplus so hopefully they all move up a bit over the coming months.

PS: I use a belt for heavy squats and chalk for deads, shoes are good old high-top chucks.

I like how many girls are on here to compare! Yay :)

28 years old, female, 135 to 140 lbs

I haven't done my 1RM on bench or squat for a while, so...yeah. Also, I just started deadlifting like a month ago, so I'm very proud of my 1RM, lol.

    Current:
Bench - 115 x 3 - I did 145 lbs x 1 a few months ago, but I stopped focusing on bench and there is no way I can do that now :(
    Squat - 155 x 5
    DL - 205 x 1

Goals by the end of the year:
    130 lbs
    Bench - 145 x 1 again
Squat - 205 x 1- may as well go higher than 200 lbs, otherwise I'll have to put 2.5 lb plates on :)
DL - 2 x body weight (260 - 270, depending on weight loss goal progress)

My biggest issue (besides not being consistent in my diet / not getting enough protein) is not being able to decide if I want to lose weight or gain muscle. I don't like pudging out of my bikini, but I do love lifting progressively heavier things :)

Great seeing the numbers being lifted by the girls here!

Am just starting out my lifting / body recomp journey, currently female (that won't change!) 118lbs and 20% bf, oh and 5'3".

Ultimately I'd like to get to a lean 122-125lbs-ish but that's a long long term goal and will take a few rounds of bulk and cut I predict. So this is the first attempt at a bulk and my lifts currently stand at...

Squat 130lbs for 10 reps, no idea of 1RM.
    Dead lift 150lbs
    Bench 80lbs

Not sure what appropriate goals would be for a female of my weight and height, would be great to hear of any suggestions...

    Female, 39 years old
    5'5", 227 lbs,
Trying to lose and I have type 2 diabetes.

My daughter(20yo) and I started Stronglifts 5x5 on June 23.

    Our last workout:

    Squat - 120 lbs. 5 reps, 5 sets
    Bench Press - 85 lbs. 5 reps, 5 sets
    Deadlift - 145 lbs. 5 reps, 1 set

Not sure what my max would be since I don't have a spotter but I could definitely lift more.

    Goals:
    Squat - 200
    Bench - 150
    Deadlift - 250

Not sure how realistic those goals are or how long they will take.

At my gym(Fitness 19) they have a Smith machine, which I don't like to use and then a squat rack, which is what we use when we are doing squats, overhead press, etc. Tomorrow when we lift I will get my max.

are the rails on your squat rack adjustable?

I bench in my power cage- and I didn't have that- I'd prop the bench up on some plates so the rails were the right height.

Good luck tomorrow with your one rep max effort!!!

    F, 43, 127lb 5'7"

    Dead 132lb
    Squat 121lb
    Glute bridge, hip thrust 132lb

Don't bench press, as I'm working on lower half and don't want to bulk anymore, just keep muscle strength, particularly glutes.

Hoping to add 70-100lb to those each over time. Long time!
