So that's the statistics. That's what I am working on for the month. I will keep everyone informed on progress or whatever.0 -
No particular mileage goal for me this month, but I need to get ready for D2R2 – the Deerfield Dirt Road Randonnée – on August 23. I signed up for the 115K version, with around 8,000 feet of climbing, most of it, as the name implies, on dirt roads.
So far this month:
Aug. 2: 40.74 mi, 2428 ft, 2h 36m 49s.
Aug. 4: 22.85 mi, 909 ft, 2h 08m 18s. (Ride with my wife, who's a bit slower, but we weren't aiming to go fast.)
Aug. 6: 51.52 mi, 3350 ft, 3h 37m 33s. Eight miles of climbing on dirt.
So for the first 7 days (tomorrow is a rest day): 115.11 mi, 6686 ft, 8h 22m 49s.
(In October, I have the 125-mile Great River Ride in Westfield, followed 6 days later by Fat Cyclist's 100 Miles of Nowhere, so that will be the big mileage month this year, I think!)0 -

About another full month of hot weather before we really start to cool down. I can't thank mother nature enough for the terrific riding weather over this summer. With the exception of ONE rain day last Friday, I've commuted to work and back every single workday since sometime in early June.
