My NSV today was that I was able to put on a pair of jeans that were way to tight in the past and they fit perfectly if not a little loose!!!! I am so excited!

Plus when going out to my favorite Mexican place at lunch today instead of ordering the chimichanga I ordered the carne asada, avoided the rice and beans and only had 8 chips with salsa!!!!

This is the first holiday season ever where I enjoyed myself (in moderation) but didn't move into that mode of "I've gained a few pounds, I might as well give up". I knew I would lose the weight once I got back into my normal routine (which did happen). Never once did I feel guilty about eating holiday treats.
  • Today, I ate Kentucky Fried Chicken, and remembered to take off the skin/fat/dressing.
  • Another NSV I have to mention is that I started doing the 30 day shred again to supplement my aerobics class and I have been KICKING BUTT! I'm starting with level 1 but am finding that I can do MORE than what they are doing and don't feel as if I'm going to die when I'm done! I love this new me!

I have a new NSV today...I am wearing a sweater that has been too small for about 2 years & a shirt that I have never been able to wear b/c it was too short, I have it on today & my hubby said - "WOW, where did this sexiness come from?" I am so excited to see these NSV's...always looking for more.

I went to the grocery store today hungry (I know, bad idea!) and bypassed the cookies, the brownie mix that was on sale and all of the samples! It was sooooo hard but I feel awesome that I did it.

My NSV, is that the ring that I am wearing is starting to fit me loose! I know it might not seem like much but it kind of made my day.

I've noticed my rings spinning around my finger--drives me crazy! But it is also so encouraging to FEEL the loss!

I have not had much luck dropping weight in the past few weeks, but I did lose 2.5 inches off my waist and 2 off my thighs...it's hard to not see the scale go down, but to see the tape measure shrink is almost as good!

I've also just reached my new running goal, I did 4 miles!!!! (I haven't done that since high school)
  • They served miniature candy bars and chips at today's staff meeting--they were in a bowl right in front of me. I didn't eat ANY of them, even though I was starving because I knew there was a pot roast waiting for me at home.

    I haven't had a single french fry since I started on 1/5/11!!

I honestly can say I physcially feel better - not to tired and sluggish all the time!

Alright, I know this is vain, but it makes me really happy. I've been spending a lot of time lately looking at my Facebook photos and seeing the changes in my face over the last year. I look like me again! It's been so long since I've seen that familiar face. The bigger I got, and the puffier my face looked in pictures, the more I felt like a stranger to myself. It was scary to see myself in photos and think "Is that woman really me?" But now I'm back!

    I have a few.....

    1. I am able to zip up my bridesmaid dress without the help of my boyfriend and doing that silly air release to make more room
    2. I tried on a pair of "boy shorts" that I had stored away because "someday" I'll fit into them... TODAY WAS SOMEDAY!!! :) Size 12 and they are a little loose! (I was in a tight fitting 14)
    3. I'm not as interested in snacking at night like a used to be! I got out the whole grain crackers and taco dip and had about 3 or 4 crackers full.. my craving was fulfilled! (Before, no matter if my craving was fulfilled or not, I would have eaten the whole taco dip container)
    4. I have realized that you don't have to finish everything on your plate (even though that is how I grew up)
    5. I enjoy weight lifting...

...still working on the enjoyment of cardio ;)

ah, the little things... it's what keeps us going!!

I am starting to take more pictures of myself because I really want to see my progression during this journey and have motivation to never go back :)

My NSV for the week is my bra is starting to really fit good again and I was able to fit into my size large scrub top :):) Now I can't wait for the size larges to be too big

I work at a casino and at work yesterday i had a regular player of mine ask me "are you losing weight because you are loooking great?" Thats an awesome feeling. Its great to be noticed again. I actually have guys checking me out and turning their heads to look at ME its an amazing feeling for sure!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE!!! You are all my inspirations for losing weight
  • I am now able to wear TONS of clothes in my closet and dresser that I haven't been able to wear for several years. I dropped a credit card behind some inventory boxes and when I moved them I found a pair of shorts I used to love but didn't fit. I washed them, tried them on and they are TOO big!

I've just started, but already I've got some good NSVs

-I actually want to go run, even though I won't run far yet I still feel like I want to. I used to never want to run!
    - I am cooking more meals instead of throwing them in the microwave.
    - I'm drinking water every day.

I'm sure I'll have more along the way, but these stand out for me so far.

I had just talked to my mother this morning about this topic!! I have been eating & working out & doing all the right things but the scale is not moving!! But... My clothes fit better and I feel really good. So in the end, right now that's what matters most to me!!

    1. My rings are slipping around on my fingers, I LOVE to hate that!

    2. My jeans are falling down. Seriously falling down now. I can take off EVERY pair without unbuttoning them.

but the biggie for me this week is ...

    4. I accidentally did up my bra on a tighter setting. Doesn't sound huge but it is the first time that has happened in over four years!!!

    YAY for the NSVs

If I hadn't seen this thread, I wouldn't have thought to celebrate these things but they are so much more important than the numbers.

    Thank you so much OP!

I guess the most important thing for me is that I just feel happier! I've always been portrayed as the pessimistic and sarcastic one by my friends and family. Now as much as I like sarcasm I do not like the label of pessimistic as well and j do generally feel much happier in myself. Even if people don't notice I won't mind because I know that what people think really isn't always true :)

Today I was feeling bummed thanks to that DEMON, you know the scale. (only lost 1.8 in slightly over a week)
People kept saying to forget the scale and measure or try some clothes on.

Well I tried on some old jeans just to see.
I had stop wearing them because, well they no longer fit.

The last time I tried them on they would not go past my thighs and today
THEY FIT!! and they are even a bit loose at the waist!!
so my NSV is Old Jeans FIT!!
    I'm so happy over it!

I did 4.5 miles on the treadmill yesterday and didn't get a painful blister on my foot like I usually do.

I won my first Muay Thai sparring match! Mind you it was only sparring and not a real match, but it felt great to win nonetheless. Thanks to my awesome coach Alharali (he is from Jordan) and Tony Horton, I can beat some *kitten* now!

I love this!!! So I have a few...

    1) My husband made a box cake with cream cheese icing (my favorite) on Thursday night (1/18). The cake is almost gone and I haven't had one bite of it!!!
    2) This is my first week being really good about working out and eating right and I've already lost 1" off my waist.
    3) I have gone to the gym 5 times this week and I still have one more workout I'm scheduled to go to tomorrow afternoon. That's the most I've gone in forever!

Great thread and I love the motivation of everybody :)
