People who greet you while walking past and ask how you are, and then they just keep walking without waiting for an answer!

I always wonder why they ask at all if they can't be bothered to wait for your answer.

Razor blade adverts, where they inform you that the fourth blade shaves closer than the other three!! If that's the case, then why have the other three?

Hey, I am one of those people, but I say hi

People talking down to you just because you are younger than them but have been working longer and know more about the job than them. That just makes me grind my gears in just how many ways I can kill you or point you out wrong.

I like expensive pens that write smoothly and clean lines...I just now carry around cheap ones for ones to borrow and then hide my nice ones.

I get this a lot in work since I'm the youngest engineer (or trainee engineer to be exact). Its kinda because my boss told one of em that despite me being new I'm better than him lol

haha. ive been at one of my jobs for over 6 years now and just because im young and you are 40 and just newly hired doesnt mean im your milk maid or do all the dirty work because you consider yourself at a higher status. I have seniority over you despite being younger. That is a pet peeve.

I remember 2 weeks after starting work our manager (I don't report directly to him) did not want me to attend one of the site meetings (I attended one before) because he didn't think I'm senior enough to be there, he did not tell me directly but he got word to my supervisor. I did not keep silent about this though and went and talked to him directly and for that he allowed in & now I can see he respects me more.

Sometimes you gotta show your protest at stuff I suppose (In a diplomatic manner)

I am very vocal but in a respectable way to them about that just because I am younger doesn't mean I don't know my job. Healthcare jobs have high turnover rates so every new person who is hired and is older usually is like this

If I tried, I COULD care less about this thread. I don't care much about it now, but if I put some effort into it, my level of care could be reduced.

Wow, I started to think about it and the list is quite big. Haha! I hate spilling/dropping food, it makes me want to growl and scream. Interestingly enough if someone else does it I just want to clean it imediately as fast and effectively as possible. I hate people with bad manners, particularly bad table manners, eating with their mouths open so the food is just about waving at me and throwing hand signals, talking while eating, slurping, all noises, it all just make me want to gauge my eyes out (note: the tv Chef Giada is o disgusting! She does all these things!). Other things are people who rip open packages so they are ruined and you can't close/put it away properly. People who bad mouth their significant other. People with ****ed up, uneven eyebrows. People who murder and rip grammar books, and speak in text slang all the time.

I don't even abbreviate while texting. It bothers me and because I'm a grammar nazi, I can't send it that way.

Me either. It takes a bit more time but at least you can read and understand what I'm saying. Sometimes I'll type "IDK" but that's only when I"m seriously lazy.

I was watching one of those murder p*rn shows and this woman killed her husband and pretended like he was still alive by texting friends and family. They knew something was off because he used the short versions of texting and she was using full-on sentences.

Dishes in the sink and using more than one glass at a time

Glad we're not friends - new cup every time I go to the kitchen! Sorry Not Sorry

When you're talking to someone face to face and they're texting on their phones. Well, I'll go and enjoy the rest of my day then!

    Right!
    Girl/Dude Bye!

People have tendencies. I notice them in the people that text me. My late husband was that way. I new when something was off with him by they way he texted.

Here's one that's common on this site: lose vs. loose.

Once we lose weight, our clothes become loose.

lose = /looz/ to fail to keep or hold

loose = /loos/ not tightly fastened, attached, or held; not pulled or stretched tight

According to the merriam-webster.com site, those /oo/ should actually be a u with two dots on top, but I don't know how to do that.

Has anyone ever told you that you are their pet peeve? I start conversations about how I wonder what non-Christians feel when wished "Merry Christmas", or how many people might be deeply offended by the term "grammar Nazi". No one else is curious about these things when I bring them up. I've been told repeatedly to stop over-analyzing things and that it's annoying.
