I ended up cooking a new dish!
Vegan Rice Dish. Very tasty and simple.0 -
Dinner tonight was Chicken Cordon Bleu with Parmesan Alfredo Orzo with spinach. My usual side was always a fresh raw salad of fruit and veggies. Was meant to eat red velvet ice cream cake, but ended up being too full.

Last night, husband went to the grocery store and made dinner, which was a lovely grilled chicken breast over mixed greens with craisins, won ton strips, goat cheese crumbles and balsamic vinagrette.
He also bought new ice cream - Edy's Slow Churned Peanut Butter Cup. Forgot to take a picture! 1/2 cup = 130 cals though and it had plenty of mix-ins!0 -

Venison chili and corn on the cob - 99.99% of all ingredients home grown. (I think black pepper may be the only store bought ingredient)0

I love the homegrown. My garden is not going as strong as it was, but I'm still making peas, peppers, squash and cucumbers. I spent yesterday afternoon shelling peas. I have to put them in the freezer or cook them. I haven't decided which I will do yet.

I had this massive chicken burrito for lunch today, so I'll probably just have a smoothie for dinner later tonight.

Margie and I went to Parramore's Too for supper tonight. We both had the special, which was catfish fingers. I had fried okra and a Caesar salad with mine. Also had a few of Margie's onion rings. Sadly I forgot my camera, so this is a picture of my leftovers.

I was 500 odd calories short, even after my usual late night snacks. So...... pumpkin seeds, 3 kinds of granola and vanilla ice cream. It took care of 492 of them.

I call this Mediterranean Pasta. Spinach asiago chicken sausage, roasted red peppers, asparagus and artichoke hearts in a pesto cream sauce over pasta. Was supposed to have goat cheese but I forgot to add it. Also garlic toast.
A glass of Malbec and an Oreo for dessert so far. Trying to decide if I should have ice cream or another glass of wine....0 -

Yeah, our summer crops are winding down as well. I pulled up all the tomato plants, canned most and used up the last to make the chili, and the last of our ground venison. Thank goodness hunting season is almost here!
Our cucumbers have stopped as well so they got pulled up too. But that's okay because I need the room to plant the fall garden.0 -
Last night was carby deliciousness. Homemade Sriracha mac n' cheese. My husband made an awesome creamy, spicy cheese sauce that I could just swim in, ahhh...it was on whole wheat penne and a TON of chopped green onion. On the side, steamed sno peas with lemon juice and fresh basil.0

This is a great topic! I'd love to see some beautiful colorful dinner plates and school lunch ideas for the kiddos. I'll try to get involved here. It's always nice to get new ideas.0

Thanks - I love it. I would eat it every week, but my husband isn't as crazy about it as I am, and the kids prefer plain butter noodles. My 3 year old did end up eating a bunch of the sausage from my plate, so that was a plus....0 -

We ate twice tonight. I cooked a big pot of peas and baked a ham roast this afternoon while I was mowing grass. Also had some leftover rice and gravy. We ate early, then ran down to a friends house and picked about 5 gallons of grapes. Would have picked more, but lightning chased us home. I used some of the ham, along with pepper Jack cheese, onion and tomato to make a sandwich to go with the peas the 2nd time around.

Last night I went to Applebee's and ate off their 550 calories and under menu. I picked out the 7oz sirloin with shrimp, and a side of seasonal veggies, and substituted the potato for French onion soup. I had 2 glasses of mango tea to drink. It was wonderful. Then about 2 hours after I got home, I ate a Skinny Cow chocolate wafer bar for dessert, to top it all off.0
