  • Howdy Gals,

OMG...I am SO jazzed about the POP revolution, and I mean dropping the sodas and going for pure clean water! You got the message and I'm soooooooo happy! Pee??? He he he he...you're cleaning the pipes baby.

My day was busy, and mostly on my patoos, I have two desks, one at the Police Department and another; the Court desk (really small town so we tend to double or triple duty) and I hopped from one to the other all day...sorta like Deb!

Speaking of which...WOW DEB, fitting into smaller jammies???? And silky ones to boot???? I'm sayin' nothing further but lucky Mike.

Oh man, Cyndi, have fun with the horses. Living in E. Washington it ain't a home without horses...but living in town, we're lucky to have chickens! ENJOY the ride (the four legged kind)!

Endeesix, sick around...this is one group worth getting to know.

MMMM Emma, there's nothing better than a well cooked chicken breast...I don't care what crumbles are sprinkled on it. But cashews??? Can't be beat. My DH gets mixed nuts for his "snacks" and I'm always picking out the cashews and storing them (like a squirrel) for myself...Ü. At this time, there is nothing wrong with having the library as your significant other. TRUST ME!!!!!

Good for you too, Kelly getting off the Soda. You have a very busy job...just what, exactly do you do?

    Hi Shawna...you're a wonderful cheerleader...and a wonderful inspiration!

Off to bed. My new hours start tomorrow, but I still want to get up at the earlier hour and hopefully get in a ½ hour of Wii time. Can't seem to get it in after work, so I'm going for mornings. See ya tomorrow...

    Happy Losing...Vicki...*Ü*

Hey Vicki, Lucky Mike got to see the 2 silk night gowns I hadn't worn in 2 yrs this weekend. Jammies are for when men AREN'T around! LOL But the jammies were my favorite so I only mentioned them. Didn't think you guys wanted THAT much detail!

Between 6pm and 11pm I went to the bathroom 7 times and I got up 2 times last night....man that water did me in LOL. I only drank half a soda yesterday. But do not ask me to get rid of my coffee!

Shawnalee I picture you in a cheer leading outfit cheering us all on!

Cyndi I've always wanted to ride a horse but was afraid I'd break it's back. Now with the fibromyalgia I am afraid it would hurt me so bad. Maybe one day...who knows. Have fun today.

Have to get going. I have to take my son to his Bible class then pick up a co-worker for work and get to work. I am not much of a morning person. I get in the shower at 830 and leave my house at 8:55 to be at work at 9. I hate when my routine is messed up LOL.

    Have a great day all!!

caved and had a piece of carrot cake :(
Although it is vegan, whole grain and very delicious. Plus I missed breakfast this morning and have tap class tonight. So I'm hoping that will make up for it

    Howdy Gals,

Goodness, Emma, if I would cave only a bit of carrot cake...I don't think you hurt yourself too much. Tap class, huh? THAT is a workout. My Dad used to tap.

Speaking of workouts, I tried to find a cardio on MFP called...playing tag with the cat. Our cat LOVES to play tag with me. She grabs my feet and I chase after her until she hides under the bed. I'll walk away and she sneaks towards me, and I'll chase her around the house again. It's really lots of fun, the cat doesn't give up, but I'm afraid I'm going to slip and fall on our laminate floors and my felted knit slippers (oooohhhh so warm in this cold cold weather). So balance is also in the mix. We can go on for about 15 minutes before I give up...winded.

Deb. I recently started wearing PJ's...because they are more comfortable during (small letters) night sweats. Oh you younger gals whining about Aunt Flo. The worst is yet to come but the benefits balance it out. Anyway, I've not tried any silky ones. My one set are cotton jersey, and are okay except they tend to wrap themselves around me as I toss and turn. I won't discuss my nightie options (XXX). I AM very happy that you and Mike are doing well.

There has to be some really special moments working in a nursing home, Kelly, even as a housekeeper. Do you get to know any of the residents much? That's a lot of hard work, too.

So, I've been under calories so far this week, but feel like I'm lagging. I dunno, maybe it's the change in my hours, maybe it's the stress in head hunting for a new chief, but I feel like I'm not putting in as much work as I have the last couple of weeks. I think I'll hunt down that article on the seven (or so) stages of weight loss and see where I might fit at this time. Recognition of the enemy is half the battle.

    Happy Losing Gals...Vicki...*Ü*

I got in 3 nice miles of walking today with a couple of friends. Then... once they left the park, I realized I had parked my motorcycle face in and on a slight slope. It wouldnt have been a problem, except the ground was dirt and my boots didnt want to create traction and my legs were tired from the walk, SO... instead of just backing up like a normal person.. I got some strength training in and had to maneuver my 450lb bike forward and back, forward and back... about 8 inches at a time until I was completely turned around and could ride out of the spot. Needless to say, I was WORN OUT by the time I got home from that walk!

Ate a snack, then cleaned the messy garage (a ritual when hubby's gone) and gave both bikes a bath. I figure me freezin my butt off outside with the hose was probably good for a couple hundred calories burnt.... ehh?

My only downfall today, which I dont really count.. is that my oldest made my favorite kind of cookies. Snickerdoodles. I only at 2, but man.. I coulda ate that whole flippin pan!! Its amazing how tempting stuff like that is when I dont eat it for a while. I havent had sweets in a while, so no guilt... I had the calories to indulge a little.

And yes, I did drink all of my water today! And I have been peeing like crazy, which Im hoping is a great sign! I checked this morning and I was up 1lb of water weight, which is a miracle considering I can usually be up anywhere from 5-7lbs when the B**** is in town.... LOL Im praying all this peein will show a good loss once its done.... only time will tell!! :0)

Paw- Soda hangovers are bad. I used to have them horrible dont drink soda anymore for that reason. The only time I do drink soda is when i have a mirgaine because it helps me sleep. I only get them every 6 months or so unless Im really stressed out. Try motrin and drink lots and lots of water. That usually helps with a sugar/caffiene hangover.... that and a good salad work for me.

Vicki the silky pj's don't bunch around you as much they slide more when you move so that helps. I do feel a little staticy in the mornings though and then the pants cling a little when I get up. I am very happy that Mike and I are working out well too. Thank you.

Cyndi, I bet your trying to get out of your parking place would have made a funny home video. I'm glad you got out ok hope you aren't too sore today from it. A 3 mile walk is impressive on it's own girl!

I got in 6 glasses of water so I met my 4 glass goal, and I drank 3/4 of a can of pop. Don't think i have a headache from lack of soda but I've had a headache for a week now. My left arm has been killing me for over a week. I am beginning to think something is wrong with it and it isn't just fibro pain. My right arm has some pain from the fibro but the left is really bad. I go to the doctor tomorrow to get the results of my neck MRI and my blood work. I will ask the doctor about my arm. I bet he sends me to my regular doctor to have it checked out. If something is going on outside of the fibro stuff he sends me to her. I love my regular doctor but she doesn't always know what to do with me that is why I found a fibro doctor! Mike wants to go with me to the dr tomorrow. He is so good with me about not feeling well. He wants to try to understand my condition more and find out how to help me more. He worries so much about me being in pain. Got to love that man!

Shawnalee is off with her hubby for a romantic weekend, I envy her. I hope we don't see any posts from her this weekend. I hope she has a wonderful time and gets lots of exercise LOL I know...I am naughty!

egam having a little carrot cake is not bad as long as it was little and not half the cake LOL. I had some ice cream last night. I had 450 cals left so I had a goodie. Nothing wrong with a little something once in awhile. I also have some See's dark chocolate chips at my desk at work, They are 70 calories for 10 chips. I have them once in awhile to curb my sweet craving.

Paw; Working in a nursing home is so honorable in any form of work. It's hard work. I get too attached to people and it would break my heart if something happened to one of the people I cleaned for. I would be bawling my eyes out all the time. I admire you. Good luck on the no soda today. Hope you don't get a headache. i saw on facebook you didn't sleep well from your neighbors fighting. I'd call the cops every time they start...they will get the hint!

Have a great Thursday all. Weekend is around the corner!!

I wish it was that easy to make them go away.... The only thing that will work used to be Excedrin Migraine. But my body got used to it I guess. So now I can do the Aleeve. But it's starting to not work as well.... If I can catch the headache in time it usually works... but once it gets to a point there's no going back. I can't see, literally... sunshine, lights, tv and sound literally make me cry...

I've lost two residents. One passed away and the other one transferred. And when I say I've lost them, they were on my wing to clean so I saw them every day. There are a few other residents on other wings who I did become slightly attached to who are no longer with us,. I had a converstion with one on Sunday and I found out Tuesday morning that they died the night before. It's just amazing how suddenly things happen.
  • Hello Team! OK, so I jumped off the wagon in September and would really like to get back on!! I appreciate T.H.E. Team so much and really need the motivation & encouragement. I recently turned 30 and would really like to start LIVING my life. I'm curious how the rest of you have identified the cause of your weight issues. It seems like the only true way to lose weight & keep it off is to fix the thought process. If you're willing to share, I'd very much appreciate any advice on how to conquer this hurdle.

    Happy Thursday!

My family went out for thai food tonight to celebrate the lunar new year!!! It was not great for my calorie count and I did my best to count it. But it was so good! And I didn't stuff myself, even though I'd had very little to eat during the day.
Anyways, I hope all of your days went well! And good luck for those of you that weigh tomorrow!!!

Oh! I love thai! And there are amazing things on the menu that are healthy for you! You just have to know where to look. I highly recommend Larb Gai, Shrimp fresh rolls or Tom Yum soup (the one without coconut milk) .... All of the above are fresh and well rounded.
They also happen to be 3 of my favorite Thai dishes. :-D Larb Gai and fresh rolls are SUPER light and very refreshing! :-D
  • This is me checking in before the weekend away! I may not have time to weigh in and check in tomorrow but I will definitely be back Sunday night or Monday :-D

Thanks for the kind words Deb! haha I will enjoy the trip. Hoping for a good coastal storm, but we will see. :-D
Oh and bwt... I will be focusing mostly on staying below maintenance calories this weekend and not so concerned about a deficit. I will choose as wisely as possible. :-D The hotel supplies a fresh organic small breakfast... so that will help.
    Enjoy your weekends everyone!!!

    Howdy Gals,

Sorry I missed checking in last night. It's amazing how a 4 day work week can get to long after the 3rd day! I don't get it. I knew I wasn't quite "with it" this week, but it didn't cost me anything...no gain, no loss. I'm okay with that!

Gotta jet...it's late and, trust me, I NEED my beauty sleep!

Howdy weekenders. I blew it yesterday. I was doing good until I went out to the casino with my friend Jim and afterwards we stopped at Denny's for their caramel apple crisp. That hummer was a whopping 720 calories!! Put me 500 over for the day...but that is the only day in over a month that I've gone over so who cares LOL. I'll go walking today and work some of it off.

I went shopping yesterday and planned on buying a couple pair of pants to have when I lose enough to get into them...well guess what???? I got into them LOL. I wore a pair last night!! I got 4 tops and 2 pairs of pants for $50. Proud of myself. When I started MPF I wore a size 24. Yesterday I bought size 18 pants! NIce to be back into the teens

I need to get my butt moving and go to church today. I haven't gone for a month. Guilt I assume. I hate communion Sunday though. I don't feel like I can take it and I feel guilty when they pass it out and I just pass the plate. I can almost see SINNER paster across my forehead for the usher to read! Maybe I will get motivated to go by wearing new clothes LOL

Have a great super bowl Sunday all. Will see you next week. Love to you all!

    Howdy Gals,

I am so under my calories for the day it should be against the law! But then, I didn't really do much today either. A little cooking and baking for next week; made a terrific dinner for the Super Bowl Commercials and played tag with the cat! New game and if I'm not careful I could hurt myself.

Weigh to GO Deb! I was thinking today that my one pair of jeans are getting too comfortable and maybe I should find a smaller size to keep me motivated. Ugh, shopping is such a chore around here...it's 100 miles to the nearest city with decent shopping and I DON'T do Wal-Mart (still, that's 40 miles away). 24 to 18 is an awesome jump!

Okay, I give Blue...what IS Guamanian Food? Is that from our little island territory Guam? If so, I assume is involves rice??? Do tell, I'm always looking for other cuisines!

    Hey Shawna...welcome back.

So, Monday is coming up...I hope we get to "see" the rest of the gang and hear of their weekend adventures. Can't say mine was very exciting. Walked to the PO, waked to the office to check on something I thought I forgot, walked to the retirement party (it's really great living just two blocks to "down town") and did a little sewing and watched the game. Day off tomorrow, too, so look out!

I didnt know what it was either :) I had a voucher for half price. The best way to describe it is "A mixture of hawaiian, filipino with some spanish influence"

The hubby ordered their combo plate with beef and pork ribs, both were delicious. They come with a choice of white or red rice. We didnt get the red rice since we wernt sure if would like it, red rice has the following ingredients: Calrose rice cooked with achoete seasoning, onions, garlic and other spices. It also came with a mac salad.

I ordered their grilled teriyaki chicken and musubi (Spam sushi, yes it delicious)

We were feeling naughty and ordered their banana lumpia, yum! I would recommend the cuisine. They have a lot more food, like slow cooked pork and chicken Kelaguen ,pancit, chicken curry, and Kim Chee Daigo (pickled green papaya)

Thanks Becca. Just man problems. Which is helping me lose weight. I can't eat much cause I am stressed out. Nothing can be done to help me out there. I just have to get through it.

I managed to eat about 800 calories today. Tomorrow I am supposed to go to Chinese dinner with a friend so I can save a few calories tonight for tomorrow.

    Howdy Gals,

Okay Becca, did you exercise tonight?

I will tomorrow am, I will tomorrow am, I will tomorrow am. I've got that Wii, Why don't I Wii it???? I even think I have a Julian Michael Wii exercise disc. I'm sure I've never opened it....::huh: BUT, I better start off with my regular Fit program. Half hour of that works up a pretty good sweat.

I'm glad to hear (and see) you're getting out with friends, Deb. Just cuz you're blue you can't get away from us....cllimb on board so we can cheer you on. I see you actually logged in some water! THAT's good to see :drinker:

Your Guamanian dinner (well, hubby's anyway) sounds really good! I think I'll look it up in cooking.com for a recipe or two. Red Rice sounds strange. I had never heard of red lentils until about three diets ago. It was a pretty good soup!

I don't know too much about Chinese food, Deb, but I do a pretty good sweet and sour....anything. AND a killer orange chicken (it that Chinese???) All I remember about Chinese at the one Chinese resteraunt my MIL would go to was the slimy somethingorothers. I think they were vegetables, but I'm not sure. Anyway....enjoy your dinner and enjoy your dinner partner, too.

My workout clothers are ready to dive into when I get up tomorrow morning. EVERYBODY...do the e-dance for me (like a rain dance; e for exercise). This is going to be the HARDEST part of my new lifestyle...I HATE exercising...until I get the addiction.

Vicki I am going to dinner tomorrow with a gal from church. I got out of my car yesterday at church and was bawling and she held me and let me cry. She at with me in church and after church she asked me out to dinner tomorrow. I will probably have sweet and sour pork and chow mein.

    how was the exercising Vicki?

Deb: sorry to hear things are tough for you right now... man troubles are always hard and take up way more time than seems rational.

Becca: Nice to have you back!

Things have been okay for me. Dealing with some mental health issues so I didn't log my food this weekend but I'm back at it.
Something interesting.. yesterday my mom asked me if I would consider doing weight watchers with her. She has done it before a really long time ago and although I'm really excited, I'm also kind of concerned. Every time my mom and I have tried to do weight loss together, it works for a couple months and then it goes downhill. I always feel like she expects me to keep her accountable or she makes me be the resistant one. Eventually we begin to resent each other and it ends up destroying our relationship, which is super strong. So I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I really want to support my mom with this, but I don't want it to sabotage my efforts at the same time.

Good thing you have that type of support. I'm gonna need some soon as well. The hubby has officially elisted in the Navy and will be going to bootcamp May 11. These next three months will be precious for us. 2 months of boot camp in Chicago, then 4 months of school also in Chicago.

    Howdy Gals,

Blue... I am passionate about our men and women who serve our country in uniform. They are the ones who fight for everything we hold dear and to me and they are my Heroes. But to go a step further...their families take preference. Your sacrifice is HUGE and I know I'm not alone in appreciating how much you, your family and others give so he can protect our liberties. Your three months will be short, and his deployment long. Be assured, we will be with you.

Hey Deb, what a wonderful angle that was for you. Sweet and Sour...hmmm...why do I think that is sooooo appropriate?

OMG Emma, I could NEVER...and I mean NEVER diet with my Mom (she's 81 now). She is such a Taurus and no matter how bad she flubbed it (and she never would) she'd be riding my *kitten* about my indiscretions! I'd be finding a more suitable diet partner if I were you. A good relationship with your mother is not worth losing over a few pounds lost. BTW, I had a great time with my Wii this morning, TYVM! I'm looking forward to my next session...Ü And how is your routine going????

    Time for bed....nighty night...

    Happy Losing...Vicki...*Ü*
