Still at 225... But had been housebound for most of thelast week. Weird going from -15 degrees to 56 degrees in less than a week!!! Getting there...slowly but surely!

    Have a blessed week!

Just popping to say hello! Hope all is well.

Have a good week and remember below this week!:flowerforyou:

Daily Inspiration for February 13, 2011

    Appreciate imperfection.

Some of the most precious gems in the world have flaws that do not diminish their worth. When a diamond is a deep yellow or brown, it is considered more valuable. So, what you might assume is a serious flaw is really a great strength.

Do you judge yourself by impossible standards? Do you berate yourself for lack of perfection? Your flaws make you unique and precious. Your sensitivity means you are compassionate. Not looking perfect makes you approachable. Surviving pain brings others hope. You are not a worthless rock; you are a precious gem.

Action for the day: Think of three people you admire. How do their flaws make them unique and precious? What flaws might people appreciate in you?

 well since no1 has posted in a few days i will lol.

i've been a bit depressed 4 the past few wks. so my weight loss is yo-yoing again :frown: the last few days have been tuff b/c i had a fight with the b/f. i admitted i was wrong but it was an honest mistake. he hasn't spoken 2 me in a few days (plus he's outta town) & so i don't really feel like eatin.

plus i hurt my ankle last wk runnin/joggin/walkin 5miles. so i haven't exercised since then

so hopefully 2day while i'm on the cycle at the gym my ankle will b a-ok. but that's the only thing that will b 4 now... :frown:

so at this point i know i won't make my ultimate goal of 160 by july 1st. but hopefully i can lose 40-50lbs by then

    Hi Sian,

Sorry to hear you have been having a bad time. This too shall pass. Please be careful with the jogging.

Success is never giving up! The important thing is that you lose something. There will probably be many who will not make the 50...so don't feel bad. I know if I don't get 50 and get 30 or 40 I will be very happy. I will be very happy with whatever I lose to be honest with you. It has taken almost a year to loss 40. As long as we are losing overall-- that is the important thing. Slow and steady wins the race. Just do you best and try to lose what you can.

As I am sure you can see many have dropped off the wagon. That may be for many reasons but I am glad you are still here and active. I hope your ankle gets better. Keep up the good work!

A great piece from Tyler over at 344pounds.com just after he pigged out for superbowl sunday, that I thought I would share:

"One meal doesn’t derail a weight loss journey and neither does a Super Bowl. You don’t want to look for excuses to pig out and to eat whatever you want, but again, this is a lifestyle, not a diet. The free birthday cake at your office for the co-worker you’ve never liked isn’t an excuse to pig out, but the Super Bowl can be, if you’d like. So can the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and out on the lake on Memorial Day.

There are over 52 weeks in a year and Super Bowl Sunday is one day out of those 52 weeks. Even if you stop counting calories on every post office holiday throughout the year (what I mentioned above, plus some), plus 30 more random days (a whole month!) throughout the year, you’d be “cheating” 41 days a year.

That still means by any standards you’d be eating and living “well,” healthy, whatever you want to call it, most of the time — about 325 days a year. If you could manage to do this, you’d slowly lose weight and improve your health. And, if you could manage to count our calories even more days, you’d lose even more weight.

Unfortunately, most people don’t try to be healthy 325 days. Instead, we all try to make a commitment to be healthy and lose weight 365 days a year by being perfect boys and girls with our grilled chicken and salads, then when the Super Bowl comes around we think we failed when we have some hot wings.

Super Bowl Sunday isn’t a failure. It’s just the first day out of 41. Just make sure that you don’t make today day number two and you’ll be just fine."

I did too much celebrating last weekend but I did get back on track this past week because I had gained more than 4 pounds initially. YAY! We are not perfect and gaining is part of the process. I learn much each time I gain. Consistency not perfection is the key. Next week I will shoot for getting back to 348.

Congrats to all of you who are contining the challenge!! Keep up the good work! You can do this!

    Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!:flowerforyou:

I worked out that we have done 7 out of the 26 weeks on this or 27% - so to stay on track we should have lost 27% of our goal for the challenge. I worked out that I have lost 29% of my goal for July so I'm quite pleased. What % of your goal have you guys lost? Might help us to stay/get motivated.

I have lost 24% of my goal so I have a little catching up to do. This is not bad but it gives me an idea of where I am at and I will take it for sure.

If I had not gained 4 pounds this week I would have been at 32%. Thanks for telling us to figure this out! If anyone needs to figure this out easily, please see below link!
