OMG!!! I wish someone had told me what a lunge was.....ouch! The last time I saw my left kneecap, it had popped out, ricocheted off the door and bounced into the kitchen...I hope nobody was hurt. I'm reducing my calorie goal by 200 to increase that part of the challenge, because I'm not sure I'm going to be able to complete the other part...sorry.0 -

I dropped from 1800 to 1600...its just for a week, so I don't think it would be unhealthy. I'll bump it back up after this.
Thanks for the advice...yeah, anything close to 90 degrees and I just continue to hit the floor. But I think I will work on some modifications and see what I can manage. Joints are a problem...balance an even bigger problem. But thanks.0 -

The wall can be your friend What if you stood next to a wall and did 10 (not too low) lunges on one leg and then switched to the other still holding the wall. It all will progress in time. :-D Strength takes time but it comes along... balance too!
1600 is not TOO low... but an excellent challenge! Awesome work!!!! :-D I need to stay out of my hot fudge jar! lol I put it in the WAY back. Hopefully THAT helps! HA0 -

Brucifer- Awww, hope you’re ok. :flowerforyou: If there is a challenge that your unable to do, that’s ok. Just make up your own challenge for that week. Maybe you can find another exercise that focused on your lower body instead of doing lunges. If not, just focus on the calories section of the challenge this week. Good Luck!

I actually worked out today! haha with moving I hadn't worked out since Thursday! haha I got in some lunges too. :-D Calories should be fine today too.

I've never done lunges before even though I've thought of doing them a couple of times. But challenge has got me started. I definitely won't be doing 210. My legs are sore from the 30 I did last night. So, I plan on completing 1/2, which would be 105.

Spellbinder-Thanks! I think that’s a good idea, you know you’re limits. However, if you get to 105 and know you can push yourself to do more (without hurting yourself), GO FOR IT!
Caitlinlws-Good Job pushing yourself to do 5 more lunges! Great minds think alike, I already had push-ups scheduled for next week. I was debating on how many we should complete.
So, EVERYONE, what should the goal be for push-ups next week? I was thinking 105 push-ups for the week, which is an average of 15 per day. Keep in mind that they can be any form (regular, modified-knee, counter, wall, etc.)0 -

WOW...I just finished the last 10 for today. Thanks Shawnalee for the idea. I didn't use the wall, I decided to get some help from two of my best friends...a couple of chairs from the kitchen table. They have "supported" me the whole time I putting on so much of this weight, I thought it was only fitting they should "support" me while I tried to get some of it off.
I know it's kind of cheating, but it takes the stress off my knee and keeps me off the floor as well. But now, every time I stand up my thighs feel like they're on FIRE!!! So hoping that will go away...it will go away won't it?0 -
This is wonderful!!!! If you are sore that means you put in the effort!!! High five, seriously!!! A tip for the soreness-lots of water, banana, and keep moving (walking is fine). The more you sit the more sore you will feel.
