i hit this week's mini goal last week but didn't lose this week but slow and steady especially since i'm still nursing. i'm bound and determined to hit 155 by the time mid june rolls around.0

I'm revising my mini goals. When I first set my goals they were based on losing 4 pounds a week. I've been losing, on average, about 2 per week. I'd rather have my mini goals reflect a realistic number rather than cause me to feel like a failure when I don't get close. My official weigh in is Sunday, so I'll repost this with my current weight on Sunday morning. Wish me luck.

You are all doing a fantastic job!!! CONGRATS to those of you who have met your first mini-goals!! :drinker:
Give your self a pat on the back if you got close to your goal! :flowerforyou:
Don't get frustrated if you didn't meet your first mini-goal. If you are like me and didn't make your goal, reflect on why you didn't make it. Did you do your best...where your goals realistic...are you close to your goal weight...was it TOM? The point is, don't feel like a failure and don't give up!! Be honest with yourself and think about what you can do to be successful. Don't feel ashamed if you decided to change your challenge/mini-goals for the future. lolabugs said it perfectly, "I'd rather have my mini goals reflect a realistic number rather than cause me to feel like a failure when I don't get close." Random question of the day: What made you decide to lose weight?
1st hint: I realized that my wedding ring was too tight...my fingers were so swollen at the end of every evening I could barely take my rings off. I purposely left my wedding ring at home because it didn't fit.
2nd hint: I fell victim to the dreaded foot-in-mouth senario that no one wants to be a part of. At the end of last school year the mom of one of my students congratulated me on being pregnant. :noway: Surprise, surprise...I wasn't! (In her defense I LOOKED pregnant...see my before pics on Page 1 and add 5 more pounds! )
3rd hint: After that I half-heartedly joined a gym. I told my mom about joining a gym at the beginning of this school year. She was very happy for me and confessed that the last time she had seen me (she lives 1000 miles away so we only see each other once a year ) I had gotten "big". So big in fact that she sent me XL shirts and spanx-like slimming tops for Christmas. (I haven't see her since I was "big" so she will be in for a big surprise when she comes to visit at the end of next month.)
Wake-up call: Finally on my 29th birthday I realized that I had been telling myself for the last 2 years that I would be the "me I wanted to be" by the time I was 30 and I had done NOTHING to accomplish it. I always felt like 30 was the gateway into eternity and if I could look the way I wanted by the age of 30 then I would be able to maintain that for most of my life. I decided that I didn't want to reach 30 feeling like a failure. It was time to stop making excuses and start making changes. That was exactly 4 months ago. I started using MFP on Jan. 2nd and I haven't looked back.0 -
Well I didnt do as good as I thought this week...only lost 1 lb but I remind myself what Courtney from the Biggest Loser used to say....if your losing then your heading in the right direction

Every year I make a New Years resolution and tell myself im going to lose weight this year but ive never kept it...this year when I weighed myself back in January I was 279 on the scales n i never thought ever i would be this much...I got scared and told myself this is enuff...I can do it,and today I am weighing at 257, when i came back to MFP,I was 262,since then have lost 5 lbs and will continue to stick to it this time0 -

This was a good week for me. I lost 3.6 pounds after gaining 1.6 last week. Seems my body holds on to the weight one week and the next week it lets it go. Up and down for the past 4 months. Almost made the mini goal - :grumble: - Oh well - I'll take the loss; no matter if it's every other week or not.

Random question of the day: What made you decide to lose weight?
I always said that I "should" but I never really tried. Then my skinny daughter (17) & her BF decided they wanted to join a new gym tha just opened, of course neither has a Credit card. so I put the memberships on mine. Two weeks later they broke up (and a week after that got back together btw) I took HIS name off the membership & but mine on. Since I'm paying for the damn thing for 2 yrs I figured I might as well use it.0 -
I didnt lose anything this week
But since I'm only 0.2 away from my mini goal, I decided to still call it a success

I'm happy to say I lost 2 lbs. since my last weigh in and that was being on vacation in Florida. I know I didn't eat as well as I could have but we did a lot of walking. Since Wednesday I've gotten my eating back on track and now I need to work on my exercising.
It was great to see all of the losses last week. WAY TO GO EVERYONE!!!

Random question of the day: What made you decide to lose weight?
Two things that happened concurrently, I was denied individual health insurance because I was considered morbidly obese...WOW...I didn't realize a size 18 was morbidly obese. Also, I went to Miami with my friends and I was so uncomfortable in my swimsuit, but they were just carefree. That month I joined MFP, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made!0 -

what made me want to lose weight?? I gained some a few years ago, and then some with each kid. So obviously I want that to be gone. But more so I want to get my binge eating disorder under control before I get full blown diabetes. I knew it would happen one day, but one day is so far away. I ended up with undiagnosed 3rd trimester gestational diabetes and my baby suffered for it after he was born. He is a healthy 4 months now, but "one day" doesn't seem so abstract anymore!0 -
Random question of the day: What made you decide to lose weight?
being 227 when I went into labor was a huge wake up call. I only gained 5 while pregnant but it made me realized, I never want to see the 200's again. I don't want to be the unhealthy mom, i don't want to be the fat mom and I don't want to end up like my own mom who has a multitude of health problems and always feels sick or in pain. I want to run and play with my daughter. right now, I am so close yet so far from my goal but like they say, slow but steady wins the race.0
