I couldn't work human medicine. The first sick person that coughed or vomited on me would get escorted to the nearest exit.0

LoL...I haven't been puked on or had sputum coughed on me since last week ***knocks on wood***....I have NEVER had to change scrubs and wash shoes so many times...0

No, I don't worry about it. My patients don't travel to Africa very often.0

No, it doesn't scare me...yet; and I haven't heard enough on the nurse contracting the virus to make an educated statement on it. I do know that being on the front lines of any disease process (AIDS, Hepatitis, TB, flu, Staph) can be scary and even when you follow 100% of protocols; things happen.0 -

I hope it comes out that it was something as simple as not following protocols. Nothing but respect for anyone in the health care industry. They see and care for us at our worst.0 -
Hats off to the nurses and assistants. They really do take some chances to try to treat people who don't want help or don't understand the help they are getting.0

It's what I was born to do. When I was 7, I wrote a paper that my mom still has that talks about how I wanted to be a nurse. I B!tch about things sometimes and get frustrated over patients who are non-compliant or our broken down healthcare system; but in the end, nursing is my passion - I LOVE my career.0

When I was seven I wanted to be a hydroplane boat driver. :laugh:0
