My uncle had a black lab once that he'd found in the 70s after riding his hog motorcycle from Des Moines to Denver and he named the dog Roach (after a roach clip - yep, hippie days). However, my Grandfather was Roach's best buddy and Grandpa just called him "You big Dummy!". But he really loved that dog.

My son and I have two cats. one is mine and one is his. They don't have weird names but they do have odd nicknames, especially Judy. My cat is Andre' Thomas and we call him Andre' Bondre'.. Son's cat is Judy Michelle and we call her Judy Poops. We should actually call her Judy Pees because she won't pee in the litter pan. She insists on peeing on the carpet.

We had a dalmation named Ink Spuddals MacKenzie

Ink because he a a black spot over his eye that looked like an Ink spot. Spud(dals) MacKenzie after Spuds MacKenzie and then the breeder added "dals" to all her dogs names since they were dalmations!

I have a beautiful male orange tabby cat named Jayne, after the Hero of Canton himself. His most-used trio of nicknames are Fluffy McFlufferson, Cuddles McCuddleson and, when he's being annoying, Whiny McWhinerson.

My brother has given all of his cats Japanese names: Kusanagi, Tomoko and Mr. Tadakichi. Yes, the Mr. is part of his name and you are required to say it, unless you call him Tadakichi-san instead.

I also used to have a co-worker who had a basset hound by the name of Dancin' Captain John Wilkes Boof III -- Boof, for short. (He was actually the first, not the third.)
  • My cat's name growing up was K.A.T. for "Kamikaze Attack Terror." My mom named her that after she proceed to run around the room sideways banking off the walls. And climbed to the top of the drapes all in one afternoon.

I had a hamster named "Annabelle" and nicked named "Belly"

    Some fish:
Pleco named Gilbert (lived 8 years and 12" long when he died)
    Beta (Fighting Fish) named Leviathan

My dogs are: Eddie (used to be brother's dog), Rudy, Gipper and Rockne...Notre Dame fans in the family. Rockne's nickname by one of my brother's was "Poot." I don't know why. My aunt thought he said "poop!" So, after that, the nickname Poop/Poopy stuck. If ya call him "Rockne," the silly thing runs like he's scared. Who knows why?! I have crazy dogs.

I had a terrior mix named "Little Bit 'O Honey"..she was the same color as the candy. She went by various nicknames: Yidder Didders, Squirter Derts, Squirts, Lil Bit. She used to beg for apples and carrots. During the winter, she would dig up under 18 inches of snow to get a frozen apple from under our backyard tree. When I had cancer, she pasted herself to my side when I had trouble with a picc line infection. She died about a year and a half later. I miss my yidder didders still.

I don't know if this name is weird but my pugs name is Storm. People tend to think he's going to be an aggressive dog because of his name but he's the cutest thing you'll ever see!!!

in the past, My little beagle boy (RIP) named Toby who more or less named himself. Was trying to come up with names for him, and I said this one talking about someone else and he got all perked up at it, and the more i said it the more excited he got. So, toby it was. Also a yorkie named Peppermint Patty (get it, york's peppermint patties... anywho...) and right now a chihuahua named Rocky cause he walks it looks like he's about to go kick someone's a** and a cat named Prego cause she's always pregnant. She's sort of wild so it's hard to catch her, otherwise I'd have gotten her spayed already. She only comes around after she's had a load of kittens and then disappears soon as the kittens are weened. We also have one we call Ugly Cat who comes around once in a while, like his name says, he's just an ugly cat, and he has an ugly attitude.
  • I was just remembering my first pet; a worm i named George

Thought it would be interesting to hear wierd names people have given their pets :)

My first pet was a cat called George!

I also had a fish called Dog.

I have 2 cats... Vegas and Emilio... Unfortunately Emilio is a girl. When we got her as a kitten we were under the impression she was male. Named her Emilio b/c my favorite movie is Night at the Roxbury and I love the part when they are in line at a club chatting up chicks trying to tell them that they met Emilio Estevez(spelling?) and they say... "and I was like... EMILIOOOOOOOOOO!" Anywho, later we realized she was a girl and my daughter wouldn't let us change her name to Emilia... lol

I have a Chihuahua named Princess. She had the name when I adopted her from the SPCA. I never really liked it (the name that is) so I called her Peabody, Peanut, Miss P, Lil P... anything other than Princess. One night I came home from an evening out with friends and too many drinks. I tried to call her and somehow merged Peanut and Princess and called her Penis. That name has unfortunately stuck.

An ex-boyfriend of mine had a Doberman named Baby.

    LMAO!
