Just for today -- anyone want to join me on a 10 week "Just for today"

Both my parents passed away in December, my dad years back and my mom just a couple of years ago, and I gained a bunch of my extra weight around losing my mom and having my daughter go away to college in the same year. Just too much loss.
There is a more thoughtful, introverted vibe around the holidays for me now, not that I was ever a big party-er or a big spender. But I find myself really aching to create that "special" feeling of holidays past, which since we're moving in January, I am on the opposite coast from my family, and our little nuclear family here is small, will not look like the past.
Especially the food ... the endless parade of food ... should really NOT look like the past. However my mom's favorite Christmas cookie recipe, and the idea of sending dozens to family in the east, has a big pull for me.
MFP and especially this "Just for today" thread is really helping me to stay in the day and realize that December is just another month, with 31 opportunities to choose daily goals that will further my health and well-being and keep me stable and happy in "enough," not EXCESS.

Yesterday
1. I will not look back at my failed attempts, but will only look forward
2. No matter what I eat, I will be accountable for it,and log it.
3. Concentrate on drinking more water
I did SO much better yesterday - feel like I am getting back on track, one day at a time!
So -- just for today
1. Look at all the positives in my life
2. Drink water - aim for 12 cups today
3. Limit to 1 cup of popcorn tonite
4. Eat only planned meals today

4. GOAL, for weigh in on Friday! Be @ highest maintenance weight! EVEN that weight helps! ONE POUND @ a TIME!

My daughter is doing awesome, a little over a month till Natalya comes into our lives! It's extremely hard NOT to jump on a plane to be there during her pregnancy! With the move coming up that's impossible, ugh!!! On the flip side, by March at least she'll be in Washington with me, yay!

2. Go for a 25 minute walk. (I've been slacking lately)
3. Complete 50 kettlebell squats with overhead press combos.

1. Positive thinking. I will not look at what I have lost, but all that I now have. Christmas season is not the same when you lose your loved ones, but, so very thankful for what I still have.

- strength workout again, maybe exercise ball crap did 45 minutes cardio instead. I hate strength. I love cardio ...

Seems we have lost a lot of people, so I am going to try and restart this again. Jackie, I am having trouble getting on your post, and also, people have to join the group in order to post. I love reading others posts - it also keeps me going.
So just for today ---
I will not look at what the scale says, and instead concentrate on healthy eating!

1. Not eat any of the cookies/candy/junk in the breakroom at work!
2. Drink 12 cups of water
3. Eat the healthy food I take to work and not order out!
