People don't understand that the "judging" in this thread originated with the OP. I have friends who eat "clean" and I don't say a word about their diaries or their choices. It's their choice and it doesn't affect me at all. But if one of them were to ride in on their white horse and lecture me for the Cap'n Crunch I ate for breakfast this morning...well, they would no longer be considered my "friend."

    "Cookie dough for lunch"
    FOR LUNCH
    So, in place of a whole entire meal . . . .
    Not as a snack . . . .
    Not as a dessert . . . .
    As a whole meal . . . . ?

I think that was the part that made things a little more clear for me about the OPs meaning.

Nobody is perfect. I'm certainly not. Had valentines day candy this week, on multiple days. It was processed . . . and yummy. Also had protein bars (processed), protein powder (processed), vitamin supplement (processed) store bought almond milk (processed), and storebought bread (processed). I just don't think the post was meant the way some of y'all seem to think, IMHO.

But, the wild spraying of venom is entertaining. Please continue.

so what? You don't know what the rest of that persons day was like, so who are you to judge?

    I'm not judging. But, again, I didn't take that as the purpose of the post. So . . . . whatev. Judge away . . . .

You actually did judge with this post:
    "Cookie dough for lunch"
    FOR LUNCH
    So, in place of a whole entire meal . . . .
    Not as a snack . . . .
    Not as a dessert . . . .

So you judged the OP's friend along with all of us judgey judgers.

    How's the weather up there?

Ha, sure. Whatevs. Just using a short section of the OPs post and emphasizing the meaning. But twist it how ya wanna'. :-)

There is no twisting it There's no need to. It's blatantly right there.

I think that was the part that made things a little more clear for me about the OPs meaning.

People eat weirdly sometimes, for who knows what reason. Last time I was sick I had a protein bar for dinner followed by a day and a half of basically just oatmeal, as that's all I wanted to eat.

Last time I was stuck at work 'til 1 am, I ended up planning poorly and didn't have food available so ate some bagged popcorn, a protein bar, and some peanut M&Ms. I was exhausted when I came home and had missed the midnight deadline anyway so just quick added, but in theory it would have been better to log everything, and having OP gossip about it on the forums wouldn't have made me more likely to eat better in the future (or more aware that I was violating my own preferences).

Despite these instances, I usually eat pretty well, and especially given all the disclaimers about "oh, we don't mean clean ALL the time," I'm really not sure what makes one a clean eater and what doesn't. Other than labeling oneself, I mean.

i love to support friends, but sometimes what I see them eat makes me cringe. Cookie dough for lunch? "I stayed under my calorie goal so it's okay" Does anyone do it "right?"

Love how the OP starts a thread judging her friend and then the white knights come in an saves her and yells "stop judging her"......the irony!!! LOL

Soooo truuuue!!! I was shocked by the venom that came out with the first post I put on here. Never suspected in a million years that I would catch so much flack for trying to make a heathy change in my life. But, despite all the haters, i found a great support group and we are adding more all the time!

Why is it that when one of these situations happens the OP rarely re-read what they said and critically evaluates it to determine what might be provoking so much criticism. Instead you respond to a supportive post by calling the criticism "venom" and missing the cause entirely.

Almost no one was giving you flack for your choices or how you choose to diet. They were chafed by the abrasive phrasing of your post. You said the way others eat make you cringe and called your plan the "right " way. You are probably not a terrible person whose goal was to sound superior or degrade others who don't diet in the same way you do. If so, just think about the reaction you got to how you phrased this and it may help you express yourself better in the future.

Not twisting at all. You are judging us for judging OP, who we are judging for judging her friend by judging her choices. You are also judging her friend's choices. This is exactly what is happening in this thread and I haven't twisted it in any way, unless you had some underlying meaning in your post that can't be read through text alone. In that case it's not really fair to tell us that we are "twisting" what you're saying because we can only read what you've been typing and we can't see into your brain to read your underlying message. We can only take what you say at face value.

We all judge. Right now I'm judging your over use of "whatevs." Is it that hard to type "er" at the end?

*Edit: And now you're judging our panties. Jeez. It's just neverending with you.

Because thinking outside the box (well, in this case eating something outside the norms of what "lunch" is supposed to be) is bad...what next. Breakfast for dinner and pizza for brunch? Oh. My. God. The chaos...

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

I don't know if that's enough. Best to have the beer in a shower while vigorously scrubbing off the filth to make sure you're drinking clean.

That's actually on my to do list tonight. I play hockey for 2hrs on Friday night, and always bring my "recovery drink" into the shower.

I'm glad you understand exactly what the OP was trying to say, since she hasn't been back to offer more insight on how to do this right.

How does that answer the question on how to judge our friend's diaries?

How does that answer the question on how to judge our friend's diaries?

It doesn't. I'm guessing someone just found that link and thought it was "ground breaking" so they had to post it, regardless on if it makes sense.

HA, HA, it just gets better and better. I was just stating my opinion, like everyone else.

  • How does that answer the question on how to judge our friend's diaries?

It doesn't. I didn't approve of the judgement part. I should have clarified. The article was supposed to address the title of the thread, not the subject matter of the original post.

You mean the thread where you implied that anyone who fed their kids processed foods was a terrible parent? Yeah I have no idea why people would be sensitive to that...

You really should work on better expressing your opinion as panties bunching doesn't even remotely fit.

Your opinion is judging those on your friend's list is perfectly acceptable. So, question after reading your profile why did you fall off the wagon? Are you making it too difficult? Maybe if you had eaten cookie dough for lunch once in awhile you wouldn't have...

I'm in to bunch everyone in this thread's panties. It's okay. I'll be gentle.

Ok, alright, I had to wipe my tears. So, now you are judging how I express my opinion, and then telling me my opinion. Well, aren't we just a little ray of sunshine. Can someone pass a Snickers to GiveMeCoffee?
