Did I sabotage my diet plan?

Lots of unnecessary aggressive attitude here that drives people away from the community. Every comment criticizing the trainer and suggesting the OP should fire him/her is ridiculous - she didn't even post details of the diet for Christ's sake! You are criticizing advice that you don't know the details of!
If the OP met with a trainer with plans to start an exercise regimen in 2 weeks, it seems perfectly reasonable for the trainer to give some nutrition advice. Without knowing what the advice was, it's impossible for you to tell her that it's bad. That seem like an obvious thing to say, I'm surprised it has to be said.
To the original poster: Everyone has slip ups. You had a bad meal on your plan, it happens, many (most?) people actually choose to do this from time to time because in the long run, it helps you keep on track without getting frustrated and giving up. As a general rule when you have a "cheat" meal, you just go back to the plan the next day like nothing happened. You don't need to make up for it the next day with diet or exercise, just go back on the plan - the goal is long term success, not daily success. Good luck!0 -
No. Having some chocolate one day doesn't ruin anything. Keep at it.
If your trainer is the one using words and phrases like detox and jump-start your weight loss..i would take the nutrition advice with a grain of salt.
No one is being negative. They are giving you solid information in order to help you. A little education goes a long way if you pay attention..rather than dismissing it as negativity.0 -
How do you know he isn't qualified?
People assume!
Actually he is very qualified personnel trainer0 -

Some people are negative here. Do as your instructor says - everyone is different. Pretend like the fountain didn't happen and do your best to stick with the diet, even if it means being on it one more day. After the diet, clense, or whatever, make sure you stick with portion control and healthy eating habits (which may include the occasional chocolate fountain)
Normally when people are referred to as "negative" here it is because they call out unsound acts such as "detoxes", "cleanses", or in your case last week ... eating dangerously low net caloric amounts. Validation and/or enabling of unhealthy or unwise choices is not support.0 -

What nutritional certifications does he have? What are the details of this "diet" (formerly "detox")?0 -
I'm eating over 1500 calories a day , full of veg, protein and fruit as I said earlier. I never said I'm on a low calorie/unhealthy diet.0

It's because usually when someone giving dietary advice uses the terms detox and jump-start weight-loss, they don't know what they're doing.0 -
slip ups happen, we can't undo them, just try to do better today0

I would seriously look into a new trainer. The one at my gym told me to eat 1200 calories total. Considering my activity level at the gym, this would be a very bad idea for me. Thank goodness for the support of the community here, to teach me the proper way to fuel my body.0

Again, generalities versus details. You said you were worried that one day would ruin your detox ... then you rephrased it ... and you still won't provide details about what certifications your "very qualified personnel trainer" or what the details are of this "jumpstart" "detox" "diet" (all words you've used to describe whatever it is you're doing).0 -

My son is also a qualifed personal trainer - he has zero qualifications in nutrition!

To answer your original question, no, you did not sabotage your diet plan.

Meaning, only comment if one is in agreement with you? Wouldn't you rather know truth than just get an "atta girl, keep it up!" ???

The best way to handle changes in your eating habits is to move past a hiccup and not stress over it too much. That's where the negative cycle can come into play. Follow your healthy eating plan going forward and view your chocolate time as a treat. You should do just fine. It took more than 1 day to gain any weight, so 1 day won't ruin the whole thing. Good luck!0

It is common to associate detox to a soup or juice diet which isn't the case here. It is just a 2 weeks plan to get my body full of the right nutrition sit needs to have great workouts without harming muscles and keeping me fit to workout more.
He uses the word detox because I don't have any pasta or bread or meat apart from fish (3 times a day) for these 2 weeks (I have carbs in porridge, broccoli and so on)0 -

His use of the word is incorrect..hence all of the warnings that he may not be the best person to consult in regards to nutrition.
To detox is to remove toxic substances..what toxic substances are you removing??0 -

So... he is misusing a word which, when used, constitutes advice that you disagree with, and thus is NOT giving the advice you disagree with. And because he's not giving bad advice, she should fire him?
WTF?0 -

I currently have weights 12.5-15 kgs and he is going to help me push myself more.
Unfortunately, I'm the kind of person that as soon as I have a cheat meal I give up. But I'm learning slowly
And this, right here, is WHY people discourage the detox mentality and the quick weight loss jump start, booster stupidity. Eat at a deficit. Get enough protein.

WTF?
Because I, personally, would not want to take nutrition advice from someone who thinks I need to detox my body by eating certain (non-toxic?) foods or jump-start my weight loss. People who do speak that way in regards to nutrition do not know what they are talking about.0 -

Paying for something your body does on its own..
Unless you're an alcoholic, you don't need help "detoxing" any of those things.0 -

See this generation needs to change so some people like OP would know better because it would be common knowledge.

I feel sad when I see things like this. People wanting so earnestly to do right, and then being taken by a charlatan. Who at best is trying to be helpful, at worst is trying to line their pockets further with an easy mark.
