@sonicdeathmonkey80 -- wow! Congratulations!
@iofred - oh wow, that is intense. No hills to speak of in Florida, and no goats.
@johnsonnelly - that's a great time! Congratulations! I keep planning out future 5Ks and now 10Ks to help improve my running. But, it seems like they dwindle down in FL in the summer! The season is Sept-March! Have to drive up north to do one I guess!
@runningmischka - Sorry you were sick, but you are smart to cut down. Baby comes first!
@shanaber - thanks! Yes, it's great that she's so into running now. She's training for a half in May in NY now and is really into it. We were both going to do the Nike Half that was supposedly going to be in NYC - but they didn't do it. They made it in Toronto - and not a half. We wanted to get the Tiffany's bling.0 -
Consistency. Please become my middle name!0

@SonicDeathMonkey80... I love the way you run... I have never once in my life even come close to your pace for a mile, much less the distances you maintain it. The closest I come is when I am dreaming and my leg starts thrashing and kicking like an old coon dog. You are close enough to where I live, I think I'm going to come to one of your races this summer just to watch you go.... such a pure runner....0

3/1 rest
3/2 2.34 run, then I lifted and carried 25 60#bags of cement to help DH build an observation deck...
3/3 rest because I couldn't walk....see above^^^
3/4 3.44
3/5 3.96
3/6 3.35
3/7 strength training (with bar and dumbbells, not cement bags!)
3/8 3.85 followed by a whale watching cruise
3/9 4.12
3/10 rest
3/11 strength training
3/12 3.22
3/13 3.08
3/14 3.36
3/15 13.18 at Big Island International 1/2 marathon: I PR'd....for my WORST 1/2 marathon time. But, I met my goals: 1. Finish upright. 2. Don't finish last.
Total 43.90
(Ticker is my goal for 2015 and accumulation to date)

@ddmom0811 the weather here is either cold or hot. Soon enough I'll be doing warm weather runs with you. I thought I could run better on the 95+ until I braved the 40° days and found them to be so sweet. I almost dread the coming weeks.
Yesterday's run was warm enough I wanted to lose my shirt, but still a little self conscious about that. I do imagine this year I'll often run in just the sports bra and shorts. What are they gonna do?0 -

Probably because I was trying to figure out what Cake had to do with running...0 -
So much good running being done by all!
Sadly, I'm totally behind for my March total - went to aerobics on Monday night and injured my knee (felt like someone had sliced it with a machete just above and on the outside of my left knee cap... grrr... ) Still feels "odd", like it's a bit unstable - going upstairs is OK but downstairs is painful. Did a brisk walk tonight to test it - still sore and wouldn't trust it to run. Physio appointment, me thinksConsidering testing it at aerobics again tomorrow - but that might be silly - we'll see...
@HonuNui - so jealous of you running on the Big Island. Hubby and I had our best ever holiday spending three weeks there - fabulous!
@SonicDeathMonkey80 - top running... well done!!!0 -
A much better week after a very slow week- working on a half for 5/2.

3/15 13.18 at Big Island International 1/2 marathon: I PR'd....for my WORST 1/2 marathon time. But, I met my goals: 1. Finish upright. 2. Don't finish last.
And I would gladly set those kinds of PRs if I could run every day in a South Pacific paradise... Nice job!

I actually thought of you at about mile 8, when my hips were really bothering me, and I thought of cashing it in....but I remembered how unhappy you were with your DNF and... just pushed on.
Thanks!0 -

Columbus is my BQ attempt
My first half was a 2:29. I keep it on the Athlinks just to remind myself from where I came.

I don't think I've ever had a 12 mile run feel as easy as my run tonight. I think the copious amounts of sugar still in my system from yesterday's pi day exploits may have had something to do with it...
3/1 - 17 miles
3/3 - 5 miles
3/4 - 8 miles
3/5 - 5 miles
3/7 - 8 miles
3/8 - 18 miles
3/10 - 5 miles
3/11 - 8 miles
3/13 - 5 miles
3/14 - 5 miles (race PR, 7:21 pace)
3/15 - 12 miles
Total: 96 miles
Goal: 180 miles
Remaining: 84 miles0 -
March 15: 7.26 km0 -
March 1 -Rest
March 2 - 4 miles
March 3 - 5.1 miles (furthest run to date)
March 4-6th - Rest arches, I pulled them jumping rope.
March 7 - 4 miles OUTSIDE!!! It was so warm here, I was surprised!
March 8 - 4 miles (plus a hike on the mountain)
March 9 - 3.1 miles (5k OUTSIDE!!, plus a 2 mile walk and weight training)
March 10 - 2.25 miles (It was hard to run tonight....)
March 11 - 3.1 miles (5k)
March 12 - 3.1 miles (5k, outside and the pace was MUCH different than on the treadmill. It was 9:47 mpm versus the almost 12 that I get on the machine)
March 13 - 2 miles (night before first 5k race)
March 14 - 3.1 miles (5k) I feel great about most of my first race! I ran my fastest mile time so far (8:56 mpm) and was on track to *maybe* place but ended up with a side stitch right in the middle that slowed me way down for about 1/2 mile (I need to fine tune what I should eat on race mornings) so my finish time was right at 30 minutes. I *think* this is a decent time for a first 5k race??
March 15 - 4 miles
