Yup. A great thing about it is MD Anderson Cancer Center is..well...a CANCER center, so they place a lot of emphasis on obtaining and maintaining overall health.
We have multiple nurses on staff at our research facilities for our employees and they offer advice and recommendations along with our 'fitness guru' Joi. Joi is a certified trainer and runs fitness classes throughout the week on the Smithville Campus.
We have various fitness challenges with prizes that we can participate in(I just joined the 10,000 step challenge for April). The 'mothership' is in Houston but they do bring various blood tests for cholesterol and other things to our campuses(for free) and offer free mammograms every once in a while.
About twice a month we get a masseuse who comes in for chair and table sessions at the Smithville Campus. Since we do have many graduate and post graduate college students working and studying here we try everything we can to keep them healthy and reduce their stress levels and appointments are available for general staff.

It's like going to the restroom. The jobs not done until the paperwork is completed.0

Nice!0 -
Got to work tonight and realized I piled some papers on a couple records. Now I'm stuck starting my night with records. I guess it's OK. I got some sleep so my records might make more sense.0

Alright, checking in for the night... already cursed... and a friggin' mess.0

That's not a good way to start the night. :-) Hope it gets better.0

Checking in. So far, a quiet night. Just the way I LIKE it!0

Lucky duck! I have 5 hours left! But for me that's 5 hours of MFP and walking around. I'm so stoked for our work competition. I'm gonna knock this out of the PARK!0 -

I wish they would change our schedule to 4 10 hours shifts instead of 5 8 hour shifts.0
-
I do 4 x 9 hr shifts...Mon to Thu nights....I know I have it good....lol0
-
Only 2 hours left here!! Had to do a survey in blood bank that took basically the entire night, I've never had a shift go by so quickly. We're taking a few seconds of downtime before the morning run really gets going0
-
@sufferlandrian... that's how the night *always* starts!
I could go for the longer/fewer shift thing as well, but unlikely to happen here.0 -
4 hours to go.0
-
1 here... 1 too many0
-
Darn it. The dog I took to surgery yesterday just vomited. Hopefully a little less food and some TLC and she will be fine.0
-
2 more hours...then I am crawling into my bed.0
-
One more hour here...but today is my long day. It is my Friday but I stay up to be with my family instead of sleeping in the evening so it makes for a long day/night.0
-
Yeah! I'm FREE!!! Well, for another 10 hours. A nap, a bike ride and some good conversation with the wife and I'll be good to go.0

Can I just say I hate cancer? It never gives the owners any warning and I hate breaking bad news to clients who's pet is like a furry family member.0

Yes, you can say it. I also hate cancer. I lost a cat to cancer. I have also lost 3 Aunts, 2 Uncles, and my grandmother to cancer. One of my cousins is actually in her THIRD battle with breast cancer and I have multiple cousins who are in remission.
That's just the family on my mother's side that I was actually CLOSE to.
I have very little knowledge about my father's side of the family. Though I'm sure my dad and my Uncle Raul would give me all the details if I asked.

Howdy Lilaclovebird, Hope your night is going well. I'm about to go to surgery to find out what a Chocolate lab ate that is blocking the intestines. I'll have to give you an update when I get out of surgery. Nice folks and a really nice dog. I've had all good clients tonight.0
