    Options
    75 miles again for me, but this time I'm only counting the miles I run. Walking miles are just a bonus.

    4/1 - 3 miles - total: 3 miles
    4/3 - 4 miles - total: 7 miles
    4/6 - 7.5 miles - total 14.5 miles
    4/7 - 7 miles - total 21.5 miles
    4/8 - 6.2 miles - total 27.7 miles
    4/9 - 4.75 miles - total 32.45
    4/11 - 7.5 miles - total 39.95

    Amendment: If I walk a total of less than 5 minutes out of 90, I'm not going to try to take the walk breaks back out of my mileage total.

    4/12 - 4.5 miles - total 44.45

    Another amendment: I can't differentiate running time and walking time when I run outdoors, so I'm counting the whole thing. I think I prefer the treadmill, overall.

    4/13 - 7 miles - total 51.45
    4/14 - 2 miles - total 53.45
    4/15 - 2 miles - total 55.45
    4/16 - 2 miles - total 57.45
    4/19 - 2.5 miles - total 59.95
    4/21 - 7 miles - total 66.95

    4/1 - Nice 3.1 miles on indoor track
    4/2 - Brutal 4.75 miles of "hilly" treadmill
    4/4 - 10 miles, nice mix of hills
    4/6 - 4 miles on indoor track
    4/8 - 4 miles on indoor track (33:16...pretty speedy for me)
    4/9 - Another hot, humid 5 miles on a "hilly" treadmill (Total 30.85/110)
    4/10 - 4 miles on indoor track
    4/12 - 11 miles, on the windy side, but otherwise nice
    4/13 - 2 recovery miles - maybe should have skipped it...ouch!
    4/14 - power outage = no alarm = unplanned rest
    4/15 - 4 miles on indoor track
    4/16 - 5 miles on treadmill (nice mix of hills, tempo and a few short "sprints")
    4/17 - 4 miles on indoor track; weather forecast is making the 12-miler for the weekend look difficult to get in :/
    4/18 - 10.4 miles; managed to squeeze in a shorter run than I planned between the thunderstorms
    4/20 - 4 miles on indoor track
    4/21 - 4 miles on indoor track
    4/22 - planned rest day, part of my pseudo-taper. Blah. HM on Sunday, then another in 5 more weeks...don't need no stinkin' taper B) FYI, I don't post my weight workouts, stationary bike or other workouts here. So, some of those days not listed had other workouts.
    4/23 - 5 easy miles on treadmill ("base pace" with a few burst of tempo and sprints...no hills)

    Ran 3.29 tonight and my April total is 26.5!

    I'm running my first race tomorrow night! It's just a 5k and I don't expect to place or anything, I'm just excited to get started! Thanks for all your encouragement, everyone!

    The medals are too funny! One of the mom's from soccer said to me one night, you should run the track while the girls are practicing. I said I need to run 10 miles, she said how long is the track, I said 1/4 mile, she said see that would be great. I said okay you stand here and count out 40 laps. The light bulb when off in her head and she said how boring :-)

    Yeah, I tried to run laps at my son's soccer practice...it was the worst thing ever....

    Maybe it would be good for just doing speed work...but the idea of doing a huge number of laps bored me to death...

    If it's a training run, I wouldn't taper for it. Train right through it :)

    More or less, I am. Took an extra day off Wednesday, went easy yesterday, pretty normal day today. Rest day tomorrow mostly due to brutal schedule of kids' activities. Then HM on Sunday. It's only my second one. Setting a goal of <1:55:00 and shooting for <1:50:00 for the next one on May 30.
