    I probably won't update until the end of the month. But as I'm new to running I'll put myself down for 26.1 Miles, or a marathon of miles for the month. I'll probably go over, but I prefer to aim low in case something happens. So far in two runs I've managed 6.5 miles.

    Slow and steady. Recovering from this injury is a new mindset for me. Its been 2 1/2 months and I just want to get back to where I was.

    2 - 8.4mi, 5k, kids run, treadmill challenge
    3 - 13.1mi, Pittsburgh half marathon
    4 - 7mi, easy
    5 - 5.5mi, 5k race

    Raced an impromptu "Cinco K" for an organization that works with my girlfriend at her job. Came in first place and won free dinner! It was about 85° and just icky out, so I ran at 10k pace.
    6:20, 6:26, 6:31, 00:40 (6:05 pace), 6:25 avg pace.

    @booklover22 - That's great!!! You will be amazed at how you will just keep adding on, but just take it slow so you don't get injured.
    @sonicdeathMonkey80 - How fun! You should have run thru a Taco Bell and picked up a taco during the race and you still would have won! :wink:

    Hi all!
    I'm back from Pittsburgh and managed to hurt myself... I'm pretty sure my 175mi goal is out the window now (along with my BQ attempt in 2.5 weeks). I had an awesome time though, and I got to meet @SonicDeathMonkey80 ! Congrats @Ohhim on your race, it was a tough day for a race out there.

    Lovely Morning out there Guys! Many blessings to you all.
    Thought to add to the discussion r/g wild dogs coming at you and your dog while running. This happened to me 2 years ago. I carry that runner's pepper spray Miss ReynaDay01 mentioned. It was handy, but it took 5-6 direct hits in the eyes before he stopped charging me. It was awful. Pray. And fake charge the dog back.

    It's my IT Band. It's bad... Very bad. :'( I might still run the marathon but it won't be a PR/BQ attempt for sure; there is no way.

    5/3 REST DAY - Went hiking ~4 miles with the wife at Monte Sano instead
    5/4 10.35 miles - 26.35 << slow recovery miles. Still feel sore from weekend
    5/5 10 miles 36.35
    5/6 8 miles - 44.35 << easy paced

    @wendy1fl - thanks for the advice. I think if I was alone I would have been okay, but having Skip and Macy put me in Mama Bear mode. LOL I would probably be hard pressed to pick up Macy, she's almost 70 lbs. We are going to Fleet Feet this weekend, Skip needs new kicks and I told her we would grab some mace while there. She also runs alone so I want her to have something. Then again she's a black belt in karate so maybe I just need something for me :wink:
