What nobody tells you about losing weight

This!
Before I initially lost my weight 2 to 3 years ago I had stopped and started several times in the past, when I found MFP something just clicked, I was ready. It was almost like a cold, hard, flat determination that it was happening.
Once I had started and was determined to continue I couldn't believe how damn easy it was, I kept on saying "why didn't I do his years ago?"

Nobody told me about the loose skin.2
-
- How maintenance is way f***ing harder than taking off the weight is
- That loose skin can make you feel even more self-conscious
- That sometimes you will marvel at how you look in the mirror, and sometimes you will see your original size, and that this is apparently normal...5 -

This! I know I've lost weight. I've dropped three pant sizes. Sometimes I look in the mirror and I can see the difference. Other times I just see the same bloated belly.

That's pretty much my story too! I was a ??DD (I ended up wearing elasticated crop tops because I couldn't find bras to fit... So not sure on exact size) and am now a 38B. I did my measurements this morning, and still lost a couple of cms of my chest this month.... *sigh*
On a positive note, it does make exercise easier, I can wear nice blouses without them straining across my chest, and
and I can find cute bras that fit (even if they serve no real purpose...)
This did not happen for me. I went from a 44G to a 34G. I would love for them to get smaller, instead, it just got harder to find my bra size.0 -
My sleep cycle has gotten better! Mainly because I choose to go to bed instead of eating more.5

How, suddenly, instead of your food being the boss of you, you become the boss of your food. So instead of awful hunger pangs where you want to eat some fatty snacks you have to remind yourself that it is time to eat!4

I had the opposite happen. I thought I was a 38 D when I started at 207.8 (5'9) down 30 lbs decided I needed a good multiway/strapless for the summer. Went to Soma and got fitted. Umm I am currently a 36 DDD or 34 G WTF. My jaw was on the floor. But wholey heck what a difference a fitted bra makes. Smallest band that can fit you then from there add the cup size. Texted my hubby his answer I knew lol.

Saying the words "I need new clothes, these don't fit me anymore!" Or when a pair of shorts were too small, but now they are too big!!!8

I was at a gathering of people who don't know me well and would not have seen me frequently over the last year and a half (I'm over 20kg/45 lbs down). The guy who takes photos asked to take my photo as I have a nice smile. I must have been invisible before....1

Yes! For me it's also SO much harder to find the correct bra for my size. Before I was a 36C, but now the closest, best fitting size I can find is a 34D (which itself was really hard to find in my town!). It still doesn't fit quite right, but I don't know what size to try/where I could even find it. I'm guessing I should be either a 32D or a 34E? Or would it be 34DD? My measurements are 31.25 underbust and 35.5 for bust, and I was told that for every inch of difference to add a cup size, so that would put me at 32D? I have no idea. I've still got about 30 lbs left to lose though, and I don't think it's possible to lose any more fat from my bust area, so this should get even more interesting0 -
My wardrobe is full of clothes that don't fit there too big , nice to be able to wear medium instead of x large3

But they have got smaller, just maybe not in scale to the rest of you. if you look at the cup of a 44G bra and a 34G bra they are very different in size because the cup is narrower on the smaller - if you consider the whole band is 10 inches less in circumference.

Omg this. I find it so hard to admit that this has been easy for me this time. Partly because I think if it's so easy why did I give up so soon all my last attempts and how did I let myself get so big in the first place?!10 -
While I didn't use much yet: Having the confidence to feel beautiful after getting a new haircut (... which resulted in sending my girlfriend nice selfies of me. )3

[*]You can lose weight from your ear lobes - weird!!
[*]You realise that when you have built the muscles up in your legs, you walk using those muscles not your back and it suddenly dawns on you why you had a bad back!
[*] People will irritate you when they feel they have the right to say "oh you look too skinny now!! Don't lose anymore"
[*] You enjoy feeling your bones sticking out!!
[*] You are continually petrified of putting it all back on again
[*] Just because you are slim now doesn't mean all clothes will look good!
[*] You can lose the soap in the hollow of your collar bone
[*] Shaving your armpits is trickier!
[*] You wake up every morning and look in the mirror and get a thrill at realising you look great and are healthier than you have ever been in your life!!!
[*]

That feeling you get when you receive your first compliment on your weight loss11

No one told me (until MFP) that I could lose weight AND EAT CHOCOLATE EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!! And I don't feel guilty about it this time!24

I lost thirty pounds. This guy I had never met before came up to me and said, "I think you're really pretty, just beautiful. Sorry, I'm a creeper." And then he ran away. Almost literally, just raced out of the room. I was speechless. That had never happened to me before. His heartfelt compliment blew me away15

This I swear resonates with me, I've never put it into words and you've captured that feeling beautifully ❤️10 -
Love, love, love the inspirational and motivating thread.
Why do we always think we are the only ones in the world going through this. This thread showed me every thought in my head has been experienced by at least one other person out there.
Support is key; especially your inner voice...YOU be your biggest cheerleader!
Keep going; never quit...this is for life, going back brings back all the self deprivation and loathing.
Learn from eating too much and feeling uncomfortable....eat only until full, eat half a meal for supper and take the rest home for lunch the next day giving yourself the reward of not cooking another meal! or share a piece of that birthday cake...etc

Explain me going from a 38G to a 32 J!
How long until the boobs really start to go? I'm already 30 pounds down!0 -

This was a mystery to me too, but here's the thing about that:
Cup size is measured by the ratio of bust to ribcage. So, when you lose weight around your middle, but not comparably in your boobs, then BOOM, cup size increases! Weird, right?

When are they shrinking? Seriously, I don't want surgery. I will do it if I HAVE to but I don't wanna!0 -

38G = 36H = 34I = 32J. Looks like yours didn't budge!
I'll probably lose a tiny bit in mine, but I'll be a 30" band size, so it's not like I'll be able to shop anywhere but Nordstrom's and specialty shops. Being a 34DD (or at least pretending to) was my fave thing about being chubby.
Mine don't change much until I'm below 125lbs. 32DDD is not quite right--should probably wear a 30F, and in something with less shallow cups than Victoria's Secret--but cheap bras are SO hard to give up.0 -

I would really like mine to be smaller and when I hit my goal weight, I will do surgery. They just get in the way right now.0 -
