Good morning! I get all the humor :D and thanks for the welcome. Yes, that's what I was thinking that the month's half over so I'll bump it up for August!! I'll mostly be walking either outdoors or on the treadmill at home but do have a gym where I can do elliptical, bikes, etc. so will track my miles however I can.

Hello! Apparently July in the north east means heavy down pours so I didn't get out for a few days. But I went walking/jogging this morning and am so glad I did.

True story - I was out walked by multiple grandparents with small children. They were very polite about it :)

    7.14: 1 mile
    7.16: 2.5 miles

    Total: 3.5/16.5

Up at 5:30am walked 1 mile. Then work, came home ate dinner then 2 more miles.

I think I'll treat myself to a pedicure on Saturday after my walk.

OK I admit it. I DID HAVE TOO LAUGH! HOWEVER (as delivered2015 stated) We do ALLl have too start somewhere. So here is a story for YOU..

True story: When I started I weighed 50 pounds more. I had too climb a hill past my house. I had too stop 3 times too catch my breath. After a few years had passed I can now walk all the way up, I can do a walk/jog combination and I have actually jogged all the way up but THAT almost did me in...lol...

Hang in there. As time goes on it just gets better, easier and actually MORE FUN... <3 HONEST! :)

I got a good chuckle at @homemademama's story too. :) Surely we've all been there, right? Surely... lol

Hey the weekend is upon us guys!!! Joy abounds! No big plans here. Probably take the kiddos out for a birthday dinner at some point. My oldest turned 16 this week. Yes, I had him when I was 8...
Oh my dear sweet goodness, do I really have a 16 YEAR OLD! Excuse me while I have a mild panic attack...

    Have a great one, guys!

It's supposed to be 90/91, humid and rainy this weekend, but so far the sun is out. I was able to get up early and put in 4 miles. This evening I want to focus on yoga. I really need to stretch out.

    July's MTD Total is 28!

And yes I'm looking forward to the day I can look back and see how much faster and stronger I have gotten.

Success of the day: I was exhausted after work and dinner and could have passed out on the couch. Instead I got the whole family together and we went out for a walk.

Low point of the day: 15 minutes into the walk my five year old lost it and had to be physically carried out of the park  also my 3 year old twice attempted to chase after angry geese in his trike. I'll be drinking back any calories I walked off.

    Total: 4.25/15.75

I can relate ... I joined MFP at the same time I started taking a course at my uni. Once or twice a week, I would take the bus to the uni, then walk back to work, up and over what seemed like a long, steep hill ... while carrying a heavy backpack.

In the beginning, there were days where I wondered if I were going to make it back to work. I was huffing and puffing and sweating ... and people I was encountering were averting their eyes and keeping their distance.

But gradually over the 13 weeks of the course, it got easier. I also lost weight. I was still doing a little bit of huffing and puffing but not nearly so much, and I was keeping up a faster pace.

The course ended, I went on holiday where we were more active than usual, and then I returned.

On Thursday I had my first lecture of the second semester. This time I needed to catch my bus home when I was finished, so my walk took me about halfway along the usual route, and then it turns and goes up a much longer, steeper hill than the one I had been walking. I stood at the bottom, waiting for the light to change, looking up this hill and wondering how I would do. Would I be back to the huffing and puffing and sweating again because this one was harder?

Off I went, and before I knew it ... I was at the top with barely a huff or puff. I couldn't believe it!! It was almost easy!

So yes ... stick with it, and all of a sudden one day, it'll feel easier. :):)

    Still here, honest!!!

Having had a lazy well my plans for a swim followed by dancing were scuppered by a friend suggesting a ride. The route was.. Interesting. I've mentioned cows, fields, wild birds, rivers and all the good stuff before. This was different. This took you through the sorry of neighbourhood where stopping too long gets your wheels nicked. The sort of place where the off-licence (, for my American readers 'liquor store') has reinforced glass stopping customers helping themselves, and where ninety percent of the adult population would benefit from MFP. It was an interesting ride!!!

    Totals now
    Cycling - 55/80 miles
    Walking - 15/50 miles
    Swim - 16/100 laps
    Stronglifts 5X5 - 0/6 times
Lindy Hop class - 0/4 times

    Total mileage - 70/130 miles

Off to the folks this weekend so limited miles for me.
