    8/1: 5 miles
    8/2: 11.5 miles
    8/3: 4 miles
8/4: XT day: 42 min bike (12 miles) and 35 min walk (2 miles), AKA: 2 episodes of Gilmore Girls
    8/5: 8 miles
8/6: 6.5 miles with the Thursday crew
    8/7: 5 miles
    8/8: 3 miles
    8/9: 18 miles

I ran the first 8 miles on my own at a 9:13 pace and then met up with 6 people from my running group who did the next 10 with me. I was really grateful for their company because I definitely started crashing around mile 15/16. Managed to stick to a 9:33 pace for the second 10 and I would have paced probably closer to 10 without their motivation. Besides being tired from running 18 miles, my legs/knees/Achilles all feel pretty great, so I'm optimistic about my long weekly miles going forward! This is my longest run for a few weeks til I do 18 again in September, and it was definitely a good one! Perfect weather, good company, and so much G2 Gatorade in the fridge was waiting for me when I got home!

2.5 miles this morning. Not very pretty (morning workouts always kind of suck for me) but got it done. :) That makes 16 miles total for the month out of a 40 mile goal. Traveling for a sales meeting so probably won't get another in until Wednesday or so. Hopefully I'll be well rested and get a long one in then. Have a great week everyone!

3.5 yesterday. Past couple of runs I have noticed some tenderness near/behind the outside of my left ankle. It's actually a little swollen, but not a real nuisance when walking. I'm guessing it's from overuse due to increase in miles (June was around 50, July was 88.5). I'm going to rest it today and tomorrow, see how it looks and feels on Tuesday. Ice it. My guess is that I'm developing tendinosis. Hope I caught it early enough that a few days off and shorter runs will correct the problem. If I can't run on it comfortably by the end of the week, I'll pay my doctor a visit. 24.1/90

Adorable picture of both of you! Congratulations!

    @ohhim - well done!

Today I did my first 10 mile in months!! Really pleased with my pace and the strength in my legs. In five weeks today these little beasties will be carrying me over the finish line of my first half marathon :-)

Total so far this month 40.28/90

@shanaber and @JoRocka --it is a beautiful place, one of the most remote-feeling parks in a very built-up area. I'm so grateful for all the lovely parks near my home in northern VA.

    8/1 3.2 @ 10:55 (race)
    8/2 5.0 @ 20:00 (hiking)
    8/3 4.5 @ 18:00 (walk with kids and dog)
    8/4 4.0 @ 11:30 (treadmill) and strength training
    8/5 Amusement Park Day
    8/6 3.0 @ 12:00 and strength training
    8/7 Aquarium Day

    8/8 4.0 @ 15:00 (my first technical trail)
    8/9 5.0 @ 12:00 on my normal trail--felt a little sluggish

    8/1 - 10 miles
    8/2 - 3.2 miles
8/3 - 5.5 miles 1st day of school here, can't believe my baby is a Sophomore!
    8/4 - 3.2 miles
    8/5 - rest day
8/6 - 1.8 miles ending up not getting back out last night - had to bring work home with me and worked until 9:30
8/7 - 4.4 miles in the fog  5K Run to the Rescue with Skip and some of her teammates tomorrow.
8/8 - 3.1 Run to the Rescue 5K today. Skip and I ran, it was trail for almost 2 miles (I've never run off the road) then onto the road, then onto parking lot gravel (ugh) then back to and finish on grass. We don't have official times, I was I did a 9:43 pace just over 30 min so not near a PR, Skip said she was about 23:49 not near her PR either. I thought it was a tough course, a few hills. The trail was hard for me very rooty and uneven, but it was a lot of fun. I finished 3rd in my AG and she finished 1st in her AG.
    8/9 - 9.3 miles

    40.5 miles of 120

Thanks everyone! We love gift cards for a run!

@whatmerunning LOL you'd finish while next year's race started, that just cracked me up!
@7lenny7 so how was the reunion? I've never gone to any of mine
@bigorangemichael I don't use runkeeper. LOL on the trunkless flips, that will truly be a problem...though a good one to have
@5beautifuldays it was cool to run on difference surfaces, I keep saying I want to do trail run so it made me want to try them more. A past co worker who was there said I'd feel the run in places I'm not used to because of the different terrain
@jorocka could you get a deep tissue massage on the calf? Maybe that would help? I hope it feels better soon. Jersey does have some interesting bugs, nice ant.
@ohhim fantastic tri, wow congrats I'm so in awe of anyone who runs these
@colleen_mairead_xo the best advice I got when I started running, was get fitted for good running shoes and don't rush to add mileage so you don't get hurt. Welcome to the group.
@kristinegift great 18 miles - nice! I think it was you that mentioned the nails, thank you. I'm a very low maintenance girl but I always get my nails done
    @nettiejb 10 miles fantastic!!! woohoo!
    @ddmom0810 fantastic ride as usual!

    MFP August 2015 Running Challenge:
Yesterday I got 1 mile in via two 5 min treadmill runs(6mph). Today I changed it up instead of running my usual route through town. I went to a recreation area at my local lake and did a "dam" run(1 hour-4miles).
This gives me a total of 5miles this weekend.

    August Goal: 45miles
    Completed: 20

I felt really good this morning after that extra day of rest. So good I went ahead and geared up for 20 miles. My training plan did not have a 20 miler for another two weeks, so I deviated a little, but that same plan also had me running 16 miles yesterday instead of resting.

I started noticing it was warmer than I expected on mile 2 so I checked and the Real Feel was 86 at 6am. So I made sure to keep my HR down to MAF level and kept hydrated. I made it feeling pretty dang good, but much slower than I wished, perhaps mostly due to heat (I hope).

    8/1 - 10 miles
    8/2 - 12 miles (22 miles total)
    8/4 - 8 miles (30 total)
    8/5 - 12 miles (42 miles total)
    8/6 - 8 miles (50 miles total)
    8/9 - 20 miles (70 miles total)

    Goal 220 miles

Hi everyone! July was a train wreck for me. Let myself boggled down with visiting relatives and health issues. Failed at hitting 50 km in running. :s Hope August sees me in better spirits! B)
My target is same: 50 km in running.
