This might be the longest I've ever gone without saying 'screw it' and munching away anyway, actually.

Joining in because this is my biggest food trap...the late-night snacking is the number 1 thing holding me back from losing weight and keeping it off. I started logging again on the 31st August, so for September so far I'm at:
Sept 4 (Sydney time)
Me: 3*
LNS: 1
I do allow myself a snack or dessert after dinner, as long as I don't go over my calorie limit or feel out of control of eating. My one LNS so far is because I had some upsetting news, and caught myself emotional eating. Managed to stop myself just before going over my limit, but it's a habit I need to break.
Welcome! :-)0 -
Pudding1980 wrote: »Yay! Thanks. I am a binge eater and have realized that eating in front of the TV is my biggest problem. It's like "kids in bed + TV + time to relax = MUST EAT" and that's not necessary. I'm not quite sure I can set a definitive cut off time for eating because sometimes I eat dinner at 5pm and need a snack in the evening, and sometimes I don't eat dinner until 8pm and then that's it. I may start trying for a cutoff of 9pm most nights. It's more that after my planned snack, I need to switch over to herbal tea or flavored calorie free sparkling water and stop eating. I'll start tonight.
I have the exact same problem with eating while watching TV. It's a comfort thing, I think. Your LNS plan is what you decide, so experiment with it and see what works for you.0 -
@ivyivy, I'm relieved to see @care180 posted their encouragement. Don't fall into the "this day/week/month is blown, so I'll start again next..." trap! Every morning is a new one.
If your struggle is anything like mine, the biggest victory is see and acknowledging the pitfall LNS is! No more mindless eating, in front of the TV or anywhere else.

Well said..."every morning is a new one." I, too, struggle with the "this day/week/month is blown" trap.0 -

My goals are to continue not eating after 8 pm and to continue the no yo/yo effect!
I held to my goals while on vacation in Israel and my final numbers for August were: ME: 31 LNS: 0 Streak: 43 AND I hit another goal and lost 5 lbs! Not hard in an environment where there is good fresh food and plenty of walking up and down hills, mountains and caves! So my goal is to continue being and doing fit stuff instead of eating empty calories!

There is no place like home! Let's go and remember the goal is to be the best you can be! Good luck everyone!

I know I am very late asking to join the September challenge, but may I join you again??
I am keeping my stats from today forward as things haven't been good since heading to Colorado in August. So I am back on the wagon again!!0 -
I am joining. I eat so well all day (some days, not all) but then I see I have 200 calories left or whatever and I say, oh good, I'll have a snack. And the scale doesn't move, despite being under my calorie goal or just above. I'm sure it is because the late night snack isn't getting burned off but stored as fat. I need someone to check in with each night that will slap me in the face when I want to sabotage myself!!0

I find it so hard not to snack at night. I can be really, really good all day and then loose it. Once I start, I can't stop, I'm in. Starting today. Got to loose a stone by Christmas. DETERMINED.0

Well, the LNS gremlin won last night and what is even more disappointing is that I didn't stop after the dreaded ice cream but carried on with a second serving. I thought I was doing better with at least controlling the portion of my snack when I did falter! Oh well, back to the drawing board, today is a new day!0 -
