Nothing, I know, compared to some of you animals, but I'm enjoying the heck out of my bike, and it gives me a second activity to switch off with swimming.
Here are a couple pics from one of my rides

Rode 43km yesterday and 20km the day before on the spare. Spare is...rough. Bent enough that I need to remove breaks to use it, and tread can actually slip off. Making due until new one is in hand.sheermomentum wrote: »9/6 4.69 mi

@PlunderingSteelGorilla - Have you checked out some youtube videos on truing tires? It isn't super-tough, but takes time & practice, along with a cheap spoke wrench.
Just a few miles commuting to the ballpark yesterday along with a fast ride this evening on the TT bike. I'm still getting used to the aerobar position, but I've been impressed with my flexibility. Almost time to slam the stem and jack up the seat!

Started riding a few months ago, and then this week got 2 pinch flats. This happened after fixing a regular puncture and changing the tube for the first time. Yesterday, I got drenched in the rain because I fixed my flat but still it still deflated, so I walked home. Don't know what I'm doing wrong to get these pinch flats. The guy at the bike shop said it's due to underinflation though I'm using the same as before. For now, I'm a bit put off so I've parked my bike and will do some running for a while.0 -

Review ...
March Cycling: 409.33 km (254.34 miles) = 21 hours 55 min
April Cycling: 384.15 km (238.7 miles) = 20 hours 35 min
May Cycling: 259.06 km (160.9 miles) + 45 min cycling inside
June Cycling Inside: 215 minutes on bicycle on trainer in basement = 3 hours 35 min
June Cycling Outside: 493.53 km (306.6 miles) in 1531 min cycling outside = 25 hours 31 min
July Cycling: 130 km in 405 min + 280 min cycling indoors
Aug Cycling: 129.25 km in 474 min + 225 min cycling indoors
Spring has sprung ... or so they tell us. But hopefully with the longer daylight hours and potentially warming temps I might be able to get out there and ride more!!
I'd like to be up and over 200 km cycling outside ... plus I'll probably end up doing a bit inside as well.
A bit breezy but otherwise not too bad.
Better than nothing.

Saturday's ride ...
My husband and I cycled 42 km in an area we haven't cycled in a while. Just a few weeks ago, we cycled in the start/finish area, but this time, we headed another direction.
The ride was an interesting mix of flat and climbing with 311 metres of climbing. The main hill had a 16% grade, and the last time I tackled it, I struggled a lot. I was dying. So much so, we haven't returned to this route in about a year. But today it was OK. Sure I was in the granny, but I made it up without much in the way of huffing and puffing or back pain (thank goodness).
The weather was also perfect ... sunshine, not much wind, and 19C.
And just as we returned to the start area, we cycled through a suburb full of smells of spring flowers and BBQs.

39 miles Saturday morning, and I bonked out big time. Felt faint after it was over, and actually ran fever the rest of the day. I believe I needed more water and maybe something to eat.

I started biking 10 days ago. I have 100 miles in so far! My goal is at least 50 miles a week. Anything over 50 is bonus. Anything under 50...I need to kick it up! As I get stronger I will change this goal.0

Gorgeous scene, @Machka9, and good work on the hill!0

@PlunderingSteelGorilla - Have you checked out some youtube videos on truing tires? It isn't super-tough, but takes time & practice, along with a cheap spoke wrench.
I have attempted to true wheels years ago, was never good at it. Only $15 to get them professionally done. Considered trying again and have MANY wheels kicking around to practice on. Over the winter I may give it a shot.
Been stupid busy the last 3 days so no riding done (except on my motorcycle but, sadly, that does not count). Was going to get some riding in last night, installed the new rim and promptly got a flat tire. Twice.
And now I am sick. Going to patch the tube tonight and, assuming it holds, will see if I can make up for a little lost time this weekend.

Goal: 6 spin classes and as much outside riding as possible
I didn't make it to any spin classes last week (Tuesday was Rosh Hashanah and Thursday I was suffering from about 10 days of crappy sleep thanks to The Kid and The Spouse both having insomnia).- 9/15: 4.6 miles at kid pace
- 9/17: 4.6 miles at 14 mph (including stopping at lights) which is really good for that route
Totals so far for the month:- 3 spin classes (better make it to class every TTh from here on out!)
- 6 rides totaling 36.1 miles

That is no fun either. I'm glad you didn't get hit. Not much I could do when I realized what had happened with the pork chop, the driver was already long gone. I do have a nice grease stain on my jersey to remember it.

Happy to see!! Hope this is a start to getting back to good health.0 -
Luck is not in my cards. I have changed hundreds of tires in my lifetime, never pinched or popped a tube (while changing it), never an issue until now.
New rim and new tread (ain't I fancy). Had to change/fix tube 5 times over the last couple nights. Finally, at 10 last night I got it together one last time before I toss it in the trash and give up. Filled it up and went to bed.
This morning it is still holding air. When I get home tonight I will, assuming it still holds, mount it and finally get some riding in.0 -
I have had a terrible week for riding also. My college age son decided to come home unexpectedly this past weekend, so no riding done then. Thunderstorms a couple of days before that, and we are going to be busy this weekend as well. My sure thing of hitting my goal for the month has maybe just gone out the window.0

Best of luck to you on your health issues. Hope you can feel like still riding through it all. Been there done that, but that was pre-riding days for me.
