Ended up caving and snagging a triathlon/TT bike as I'm doing both an ironman 70.3 and full ironman next calendar year as I found a good deal on a carbon/105 tri bike (Felt B16).

Tested it out, got it properly fitted & tuned, and put on some old SPD pedals I had laying around. Unfortunately, a few miles into my maiden voyage, I realized that I had forgotten to adjust the cleat tension on the pedals, had some trouble unclipping, and did one of those clipless pedal slow motion side-plants at a stop sign. Bike was mostly unscathed, but given the soreness on my wrist/forearm from the fall, and their role in stabilizing you on aero bars, I cut my inaugural ride short and returned home.

    9/1 - 20 miles
    9/2 - 44 miles
    9/4 - 51 miles
    9/5 - 6 miles

    Total: 121 miles
    Goal: 500 miles
    Remaining: 379 miles

    March Cycling: 409.33 km (254.34 miles) = 21 hours 55 min
    April Cycling: 384.15 km (238.7 miles) = 20 hours 35 min
May Cycling: 259.06 km (160.9 miles) + 45 min cycling inside
June Cycling Inside: 215 minutes on bicycle on trainer in basement = 3 hours 35 min
June Cycling Outside: 493.53 km (306.6 miles) in 1531 min cycling outside = 25 hours 31 min
July Cycling: 130 km in 405 min + 280 min cycling indoors
Aug Cycling: 129.25 km in 474 min + 225 min cycling indoors

Spring has sprung ... or so they tell us. But hopefully with the longer daylight hours and potentially warming temps I might be able to get out there and ride more!!

I'd like to be up and over 200 km cycling outside ... plus I'll probably end up doing a bit inside as well.

    Saturday 5 September -- 16 km (50 min) ... outside!

A bit breezy but otherwise not too bad.

Having trouble getting on the TT/Tri bike without feeling need to maintain 20+MPH on my rides, so just did 10 miles in 30 minutes on it (as the rain came at the end). Ended up doing another hour on a stationary bike at the gym so I could track HR/Zones/Cadence/power/etc. to complete my training plan goal for the day.

    9/1 - 20 miles
    9/2 - 44 miles
    9/4 - 51 miles
    9/5 - 6 miles
    9/6 - 26 miles

    Total: 147 miles
    Goal: 500 miles
    Remaining: 353 miles

On April 15 after 10 years off the bike, I decided to get back in shape. With this ride, I am currently at 1,004 miles (1606 km) and 83 hours in the saddle since April 15. My goal which seemed unobtainable at the time was to do 1,000 miles (1600 km) by the end of the year. With some personal effort and a good bit of encouragement from friends, I was able to complete it with almost 3 months to spare. Feeling good.

    9/1 - 9.3 miles
    9/3 - 16.3 miles
    9/5 - 23.7 miles
    9/7 - 27.2 miles

    Total 76.5 miles
    Goal 400 miles
    Remaining 323.5 miles

Got in 24.25 miles this morning. Great ride with beautiful weather. I still have many miles to go to reach my goal this month, but we are signed up for two organized rides this month so I'll get there.

Ermahgerd! Side plants are the worst, I should know, I have had a few. Take care of the wrist, I jammed mine like that once and it was weak and hurt for about 2 months.

My September goal is 200 miles. So far, I think I will crush it.

    9/3 20.92 mi.
    9/5 43.49 mi.
9/6 7.73 mi. - with hubby, he doesn't ride and I didn't want to kill him out there.

A total of 72.14 so far!

Ok, I just rode 43.49 miles today and my lady-bits are angry!

At this rate, I will definitely make my 200 mi. goal. Next week is a local bike ride called the Nut Roll, I am so excited - I am registered for the 32 mi. loop. I have no clue how the people who do the century do it.

I've found that there is a threshold for when certain clothes make things much more comfortable, :)

And as for the upcoming ride, I can't resist.... the Nut Roll sounds very fitting for your user name!

I've had some time constraints lately, along with a day or two of bad weather for riding. So for the month I'm only at 63 miles so far, done in three rides. I'm nursing my back a little lately as well, so I've been watching out for the hard hits. I need to get something with a suspended front end and seat post before I regret riding at a higher pace some days.

Generally, I get to ride outside twice a week and spend the rest of the days on a stationary bike. I'm going to aim for a total of 250 miles and see what happens.

    So far for September:

    Sept. 2: 9.6 miles (inside)
    Sept. 3: 8.4 miles (inside)
    Sept. 4: 9.2 miles (inside)
    Sept. 5: 20.4 miles (outside)
    Sept. 6: 6.8 miles (inside)
    Sept. 7: 7 miles (inside)

Goal: 6 spin classes in the month and as much outdoor biking as I can manage

Previous totals: 1 spin class, 3 short rides totaling 7.4 miles

    Since 9/3:
    • 1 spin class
    • 1 family ride of 8 miles @ kid pace (8.7 mph)
    • 1 errands ride of 4.4 miles @ 11.9 mph (half of the ride with 20 pounds of groceries on the bike)

Have fun with the new toys, those of you who got new wheels recently!
