Hey cool kids.
Beeps, hope you are feeling better today.
Did Zumba and my circuit training yesterday and felt okay. Didn't seem to have the strength I had on Friday, when it came to some of the strength exercises, but I still managed to work up a good sweat.
Ran today after not running for 3 weeks. Did 6km - slow and steady and felt pretty good. No SOB, no burning muscles, all good signs.
Was in training all day today. I scored by getting into the group with all the big ego guys. UGH! I so dislike when they don't even have the decency to pretend to acknowledge your input. You would think they would get it when EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. the instructor reiterated what I had said as correct in our group discussions. :
Back at it tomorrow for another half day.

I lifted today! I feel great!!

Hey Cool Kids. I kind of lifted today. If you count tearing down a wall in an old concrete block corn crib. I've decided to build an underground camp on the pond land, and the crib is right by the drive going in. {Several years ago a big oak took out the corner of the crib and it's been just sitting there unused ever since.} One thing led to another, and a couple hours after nailing down a good location with some elevation change, I had 76 blocks stacked on site. I've tore down the easy wall, so the ones that are left will be an adventure. Two of them have what is left of the tin roof on them. I'll have to shore it up somehow in order to pull the blocks out of the wall.
I had been thinking how cool it would be to dig the hole out by hand, since the garden is playing out and I'll need something to do with my time. But after a couple hours lugging block up the hill, the tractor is sounding like a good alternative. At least to get me started.
You guys have a good one,

Bought myself a heart rate monitor and it's cool but I guess it's not really going to be very accurate for figuring out calories burn so I'm thinking of returning it.
Anyone have a good app that would work with a blue tooth enabled monitor? Maybe if I have a better app to use I'll like it better?
Hit up Kickboxing last night and kettlebell tonight, got ambitious and did the last half of Kickboxing too. I'm now walking to and from work since my bikes gear shift pulled out of the housing. Haven't had a chance to try and figure out how to fix it and Tha bike isn't worth having someone fix it so I'm not sure what will happen there.
Put my list together for thanksgiving dinner on Saturday too. Don't think I'll be hitting my goal!0 -
Heading out to Las Vegas tomorrow to work a major chess tournament. There are about 40 directors at my level in the US and 10 or so of us are working this event. 10 more less experienced directors round out the staff to manage 700+ players. I'm working the floor so I'm going to be walking a bunch. That should offset not being able to manage my calories as easily.0

I would love to join. A tiny bit about me. I'm 46, three grown boys and a four year old boy. I was 30 pounds over weight when I got pregnant. I lost my pregnancy weight but not the rest. The stress of the last year had helped my gain 20 more. I don't have any health problems except for maybe depression but I want to get in better shape and lose 50 or so pounds. I started c25k a few days ago and I love it! I have always wanted to run and now I'm working up to it.0

Hooray Beeps, its always great to get back to exercise .
I seem to be getting busy at work. Leaves me with too many things going on, we have a second house I'm trying to get a lot of work done on before ski season, that and work are making it hard to concentrate on diet and exercise goals. My eating has really slipped the last week or so. Got to keep up the focus on low calorie eating, I really want to be skiing at a lower weight this season. On the bright side I hiked up a little mountain today, it is a beautiful time of year here in nh.0 -
Pre-log an eating plan for the day. That can help you hit your target.0

Finally made it back to my low impact exercise class and oh my, can I feel my glutes today. It's a good hurt - lets me know I worked!
No more dizzy spells of late, so that's a good thing as well. Not sure what the heck was going on.
Had to send the heart monitor back as it was not working properly, but they are sending another. It's a pain in the *kitten* having to wear that 24/7 for 2 weeks. However, I am hoping it does provide some answers.
So looking forward to the long weekend.

I want you to find some answers, sdereski....be vigilant!
I am back at the gym, today. More lifting! BOOM!0 -
Hey Cool Kids.
I got in a couple of hours with my latest piece of exercise equipment. Can you dig it?
I got started on my underground camp. My goal for today was to move one cubic yard of dirt, but I had to go into work early. Didn't quite make it. I want to work myself up to three hours of digging a day.
You guys have a good one,

No workout yesterday. Manicure and bridge night instead.
Am so glad it's Friday - tired today. PT session today!
Have a full house of B&B guests tonight and tomorrow.
Tomorrow is my dear friend's remembrance ceremony. She did not want a funeral or "Celebration of Life", she wanted a "Remembering Mike" Christmas lunch for her friends. Mike loved Christmas, so am thinking of wearing something "Christmas-ee" to the luncheon.
Larro, is there a reason you want an underground camp? A good place to hide from tornadoes maybe? Looks like a good workout alright.0 -
sdereski, I like the "remembering mike" idea!
Alright parents, how do I motivate my daughter to study more? She forever comes home saying she has "no homework" and then her grades stay "mediocre". She isn't really motivated by "stuff" and so altering her behaviour with a "carrot" isn't working. And, the stick doesn't seem a good idea. So what?0 -
HELLO everyone.. I am 48 years old and am no longer trying to lose weight.. I did that 2 years ago and got down to 145lbs.. I have to say for me I was too thin and did not really like the way I looked. I dropped from 180 pounds to 145 pounds in about 9 months. Most people thought I got sick but I was very healthy.
So my new goal is to get to 180 pounds but this time I am doing it different.
I am eating clean (most of the time) and I am doing weight training (body beast) and I do add cardio workouts like (Insanity) 2-3 times a week. I am currently at 170lbs and have gained a lot of muscle over the last 6 months.
It does take a lot of work to gain muscle.. I think it is harder than when I was losing weight.
Anyway the key to everything is eating smart and exercising. So I am open to suggestions and to adding any friends here that are on the same path. Have a great weekend.
