Dang rain. I know we need it, but it has kept me indoors for the past 2 days. No walking for me. This is when a treadmill would come in handy. I had decided to wait till closer to winter, wishing I had bought it sooner.
Good luck everyone. Keeping my fingers crossed for some clear weather tomorrow0 -
This is great!! I'm in! I'm going to set up my ticker tonight and start tomorrow!!0

3 miles this morning at 3 mph. I am loving this!
I clipped Izzy's (my little brown dog's) toenails yesterday and she liked our walk much better. The weather was perfect - in the mid-70's. That won't last though and I'm going to have to get out earlier to beat the heat.
Linda, congrats on your new land speed record. You are really bookin'.
It's funny, I can be walking fast only to realize I'm walking at the same speed as someone else who's strolling along at a leisurely pace. :noway:0 -
Mrs. Grands, I second the "I am loving this" part.
40 minutes daily from nothing just a few weeks ago.
We can all attest to how GOOD it feels once we reach that first moment of realization that says "Hey! I can feel this, and I LIKE IT!"
It easily trumps any aches and pains because what that energy provides to the soul, it's just beyond the physical.
I whish you all some of that positive energy today Peeps!
It's sooo worth it!! :bigsmile:0 -
Did 50 minutes today- 4 miles!0

50 minutes yesterday. I jogged 1/2 a mile in 5.5 minutes! I was so excited! Granted after the 1/2 mile I was pretty much ready to pass out, so I wouldn't have been able to keep jogging, but still, thats a huge improvement. When I first started trying to lose weight I was lucky to walk half a mile without panting for air, and now I can jog one. Its crazy~0

Hi Walkers!!
I'm still here - had a minor foot injury which held me up some this week ( right after I got my Reebok Train Tones too!!! Dang it!! But that's okay .... back at it after work .... 15miles done so far this moth but no where near what i had planned.. Still going to give it my best .
Thanks to all who keep posting ~ it's been very helpful to me and has helped me stay motivated !!
Back later to update ticker for 2 days ago and whateber I get done tonight !!

Just got to read your post now (8.20pm Fri) SUCH impressive speed! You're going to do great tomorrow - the pavements of Edinburgh will be sizzling! Have a great time!
Mimi - I think that Flausa's idea about shortening your step and moving your arms is what's doing it for me. You could have a try to see if it works? You're really clocking up those miles, Gal!0 -

That's just brilliant! What an achievement! Not crazy - just sheer willpower and detemination! Congrats!0 -

"Nope, not this weekend," said Dan to himself.
"There will be no laxism. No letting-up, and absolutely NO changes to the current plan."
As he listened to the words echo within him, a ever-so-subtle smirk edged itself into existence.
This was going to be good...and he knew it.

I did another 2.2 miles pushing a stroller!!0

3.25 miles today at about the same mph.
Crazy good NV! Jogging is awesome. Bex, 4 miles in 50 minutes…you were flying! TJ, I think you should get double credit for taking 5 kids walking. I’m serious!
Linda, 6.5 miles? Oh my gosh. You’re my hero when it comes to racking up the miles. I’m amazed to be almost to my goal – and not even half way through the month. I give you the credit for inspiring me. (I get the credit for the sweat!) Unfortunately, I can’t move my arms much. At least one of them. That’s the one holding Izzy’s leash!
Thanks, NV, for getting the challenge together. It sure motivates me.0 -
Still working towards my goal the rain is making it a bit difficult though0
-
The rain held off so I was able to do 45 min tonight. I think I may need to re-think my goal, I'm past the halfway mark and its only the 2nd week.0

5.1 miles for me - not bad for my day off but definitely not a half marathon!

Sorry haven't posted last 2 nights. Couldn't find this thread again and didn't realize till just now it was on my page.
OK, well, I originally had a goal to walk 650 minutes but I broke that last night so I upped it to 1000. I think I'm going to break it too.
Anyway, Thursday I walked from my friends house. I did eat breakfast, but apparently not enough because I felt myself weakening half way there. I'm beginning walking again so my stride went from 3.0 to 2.0. After dinner, my daughter and I walked home. (Total 148 minuets) Friday was almost the same except I did take the bus on some parts. (Total 163 min) Saturday I did total 148 minutes.
Today my total is 140 minutes0 -
3.1 miles in 57 minutes.
A first for this traveller
I am considering it my first NSV.
I thus reward myself with an Apple!
