    Thank you!! It's been a tough year. Didn't get started riding until the middle of May. We lost our daughter to cancer in April. The local bike shop has a mileage goal for the year. Short riding time I set it for 1200 miles. Has to be outdoor recordable miles. Reach your goal and you get 10% off 1 time shopping. Hopefully next year it will be better and I can push for 2000 to 2500.

    I am sorry to hear that Steve. It is impressive that you were able to get on your bike as much as you have -- hopefully it gave you some time to be with your thoughts.

    6AM group ride with one of the teams I met at the triathlon. Mistakenly just rode my road bike, and was sucking wind, as they tended to do about 24mph on the flats. Only did a bit of pulling on some climbs where I seem to have some reasonable power, but I'll definitely bring my tri bike to the next ride.

    I'm in goal 200 miles

    11/1 - 10.11 miles, road bike, got 4 days of good warm weather coming this week,43.26 minutes,517 calories
    11/2 - 12.99 miles, road bike, 11.94 ave. rode first 7.6 miles with the wife, 65.19 minutes, 761 caloreies.
    11/4 - 17.76 miles, road bike, 14.75 ave., 72.14 minutes, 1007 calories.
    11/6 - 14.31 miles, road bike, one of those fall days every direction I turned was against the wind.
    11/7 - 25.61 miles, road bike, another windy one!
    11/8 - 8.49 miles, road bike, getting my year goal done 1200 miles.
    11/11 - 10.19 miles, road bike, windy as a big storm front coming thru.

    Whew, this is going to be harder than I expected meeting my goal - it's raining every other day and I don't have a trainer yet. (how do you keep track of miles on a trainer??)

    Got in 30 yesterday because I had off work because of Veterans Day. it was very tough for me, I came down with a stomach bug right before the right, but darn if I was going to give away the chance to ride for a nice chunk of time.

    Nov. 3- 15 miles
    Nov. 4 - 8 miles (also did a fitness 'boot camp' in the a.m.)
    Nov. 6 - 20 miles
    Nov. 8 - 5 miles - short ride with my daughter - the best kind
    Nov. 11 - 30 miles on Tammany Trace

    Total: 88
    Goal: 250

    @ notsoperfect.. I put the computer magnet on the rear tire spoke rather than the front. That way either outside or in my bike computer works.

    Pretty great numbers here! I'm 49 female, 188 when I restarted exercise and counting calories after having just quit a stressful job where I gained 40lbs.

    Less than a week in and waking my body up with dog walks, stretching, Pilates-like moves and today I finally made it back to my bike.

    I have a Sun bicycle, one speed, foot forward. My terrain is flat and low slopes with some dirt roads. I started with 5 miles today in 34 minutes, average heart rate of 155, speed of avg 8 MPH. My previous best over 2 years ago was 10 miles in an hour. Only so fast you can go on a one speed. I get higher intensity when I pick the dirt roads more, or alternate by riding the grass instead of the sidewalk.

    My workout options now include dog walks 1.5 miles now, used to do 2.5. Cycling, Pilates and resistance with flat bands, and free weights. I have an la fitness membership so I can go heavier when I'm ready.

    Is there a mile tracker? I bike everywhere unless it's downpouring then I take the bus. I've never counted the amount of miles I go.

    Apps >>> MapMyRide & Strava. Each have their own +/- but both are free and work well. Hardware >>> Garmin, CatEye, etc...

    I just use a computer on my bicycle, and then type the numbers into an Excel spreadsheet. :)

    My husband and I cycled an Audax Tasmania event called the "I Will Ride 100 Miles". It was a challenging ride with climbing and all sorts of weather (sun, wind, rain). Definitely one of the more difficult centuries I've done!
