Just lost 40 lbs (196 to 156) in a few months grocery shopping 3 times a week at 3 different stores, in the kitchen for 2 hours a day (cooking, meal prepping, dishes, etc.), and going to the gym 5 days a week, and all the ladies be like "it's so easy for men to lose weight."

Layers are your friend! I heard that once you lose weight you are cold all the time but I also heard that you re-acclimate. Two years and 100+ pounds down, I am still cold all the time!
Also, buying clothes size small clothes NEVER gets old.2 -

That you will start doing things you never thought yourself capable of. Like going back to school to get a degree, or jumping out of a perfectly good plane to fulfill your bucket list, or training for a triathlon. No regrets for this lady!
This is exactly why I haven't given up. I've wasted so many years of my life. Blew through my 20's without really accomplishing anything and never did anything to remember. Now that I'm in my 30's, it's time to start going out there and being one bad mofo12 -
Small things like having a tailbone that makes sitting in a car or Ina plane for long periods of time quite painful.
I know it's been said but my knobby knees knocking together when I lay down.
Being very comfortable with no shirt on (my wife laughs about that one)
I have ribs for gods sake
One major one is patients and friends asking behind my back if I have cancer or something. And yes people don't always believe it's as easy as counting calories and exercise.

This is new for me but picking up a small sized piece of clothing makes me giggle every time. I was a 3X when I started this weight loss journey and it never occurred to me that "small" was possible. I was aiming for medium and didn't think that was going to happen until I hit my goal (still not there yet). I work in scrubs and recently was able to fit into extra smalls (they aren't made well, putting on the same size two days in a row will fit so differently like you gained ten pounds that day). They're color coded with the drawstrings and I make sure an inch or two is visible under the shirt

That after losing 5-7 lbs. each time your hormones and hormone meds will react: my OBGYN said, '...less mass, but same amount of chemicals in your dosage.'
I need pain medication less often for hormonal or tension headaches.
I found FiberOne bars supply my dessert desires.
My kids are a great help: serving me proper portions, complimenting me and getting me to exercise when I'm tired, & inventing snacks my restricted diet can accept!
Restaurants are getting better about offering healthy and great tasting alternatives, though dairy plagues me everywhere.
Exercise is not as easy in your 40s, and it is a necessity, but it doesn't have to be a long or heavy workout either.

I will have to look that up.
I love to jog to Zumba on Pandora but so much of the the lyrics ...make me... blush ....and it seems so wrong to alternate between Zumba and Gospel! I really would love to have PEPPY Christain!

After becoming very fit and then gaining it back, losing muscle, I never realized how easily things came to me, I could do hikes and walk for miles, I could try those new workout classes without feeling like the elephant in the room... I had a lot more confidence. I want that confidence which I have lost in the last couple of years. Also, smaller clothes don't cost as much.3

As of this morning, I've lost 65 of the 70 pounds I wanted to lose. Almost to maintenance stage.
I didn't know that:
-That I'd so much energy now. I can't sit still and do nothing any more. I get restless and have to go do something-anything outside and active. On days off from work, I sometimes work out twice just to calm down.
-That vegetables aren't just decorations on the side of the plate next to the meat. They CAN taste good.
- I actually enjoy running..... most days.
- I inspired the people who originally inspired me to get started on this
- How good it feels to fit into a pair of jeans the same size as when I was in high school (down from 42" to 30" waist)
- That my feet slide around in my shoes now without the fat cushion to lock them in place.
- that most desserts are too sweet for me now. (I had a huge sweet tooth forever!)
- On the few days when I give in and get fast food, the taste wasn't as good as my brain thought it was and it totally wasn't worth it.
- That it would take over a year for my wife to grasp that this isn't a phase and join in on the fun. (She's now down 35 lbs since )
- That every day I feel like a superhero and NOTHING is impossible.16 -

Can I borrow them?
I hope you realize what a great role model you are for them, and how this is instilling good habits in them that will last a lifetime.

I think BodyPump has some great music. Last edition they used "Brother" by Needtobreathe as one of the tracks. How cool is that!
Nobody tells you how much time you'll spend building playlists or how many podcasts you'll listen to during your workouts.2 -
- lost weight in my butt and just sitting and lying on a bed is no longer confortable for long hours.
- sometimes I just dont recognize myself in the mirror and I have to asked myself: who is this person?
- people point out just how big I used to be all the time3 -
I am tired of people telling me I don't have that much more to lose.Or suddenly everyone is worried that I will "over do it" I'm not even in my healthy BMI yet. Yes I have lost 74 pounds but the top of my healthy BMI is still 20 pounds away. People seem to think they are funny with comments like "20 more pounds you will blow away in the wind" but I still have body image issues making comments that could push me off track doesn't help. I also have friends that are suddenly trying to convince me to buy the larger pair of jeans or loose fitting top.1

I am by no means skinny but this happened today. When your son says "i want to grow up and be skinny like you."2

That I can now walk into a fashion-based clothing store and not think or say "Oh, they'll have nothing to fit me in here..." Because they do! I used to be a big guy and had to shop online or at general supermarkets, it feels good to walk into a fashion shop and actually fit into their merchandise!3

This! I have had cravings, on occasion, for fast food and my brain constantly reminds me of how delicious it is or how delicious it's going to be...then I get it and it's mediocre. It's like my brain remembers how it used to be and hasn't been able to catch up to how it is now. It's the weirdest thing.
