I'm currently on a reverse diet trying to gain weight (muscle) after a cut that lasted waaay too long.0

I've never bulked before. I have been in a deficit for a horrifying 3 years. It wasn't hard, its just not healthy to sit in a deficit that long. All the gains I have a noob gains. This past 12 months nothing has happened. I've decided to stop spinning my wheels and get into a bulk.
1 month into my bulk. I've slowly upped the calories. I am supposed to get in 2600 to bulk. I'm finally at 2400 but not reaching the caloric intake. WTF this is a lot of cals. My lifts are awesome. I'm energized. I really want my legs to grow. It is hard to fathom eating this amount of food. I will eat it.
I am hoping that after this bulk my body resets to a higher or faster metabolism. I was cutting at 1800 then 1600 then 1400. I hope to never ever ever see a day of 1400 again. I know eventually I will get used to all this food and cutting out 1200 of those cals seems nightmareish.
For now I'm working and will end my bulk May 1, 2016 and cut.

Lucky. I'm gaining on 2000. It doesn't even feel like enough food. I really hope I can get 2000 to be my TDEE someday.

Count me in. I have been lifting for about a year with my goals of getting lean and developing strength. I am going for my first powerlifting competition this spring- so any words of wisdom and encouragement are always welcome.

I'm going through my second bulk. I already have a lot of muscle, but I just love weightlifting and making gains. I'm on a three hundred calorie surplus from 1,800 to 2,100. Whatever I lose through exercise I make up with extra food. It's just been three weeks of my second bulk and I'm already making booty gains? What are other females' calorie surplus?0

I'm doing 2000-2100. I've been at it for 4 weeks and my hip measurement is an inch bigger too. At first I thought it was a pump because I measured after a workout, then I thought it was water weight...But I lost my water weight and it's still sticking around. Beats me. It's my first bulk so I don't know what to expect.0 -
I'm about 4 weeks in to my first bulk. I had gained 2llbs when I weighed in last week, but as of this morning I've lost them again! I guess it must have been water weight so I may need to up my calories. What a hardship in the countdown to Christmas!
I've also changed my workout to PHUL, which I'm really enjoying. My upper body isolation exercises are seriously weak though! Definitely need some gains up there to beat the puniness.0 -

This is my current situation right now. Been dieting for the past year. Just started training last year and I lift heavy but obviously can't increase strength as much in a calorie deficit. Finally got down to 1200 calories a day and nothing's happening. Just spinning my wheels, cheating on my diet, and repeating the cycle. Mentally I need a break so I've started reverse dieting this week to get my metabolism back up. Hope to gain a good amount of muscle this year and going to try cutting again in about a year.

I had been dieting for the majority of the year, got down from 118 to 110 eating 1400 calories a day. Slow loss, but consistent. But at only 5'2 I don't have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to my diet. I've started lifting at the gym again so I loosened up (if I go over 1400 I still try to stay around maintenance, which is 1550 or a little over) but I've already gained 3 pounds. That's not a lot but takes some getting used to when you know it would take 3 months to lose again! So I'm sort of in a revaluation phase, not quite a bulk but I'm excited (and a little nervous) to see where it goes.0

Late joiner!
I'm stuck between wanting to make some gains and remain skinny. I'm 5ft4 and eating 1400 a day (which was me upping my intake from 1200). I'm scared I won't be able to cut, and scared that the weight I put on won't leave gains in the places I want then to and will undo all the work I've previously done to get lean. Any advice?
Feel free to add me and thanks guys x0 -
Hey ladies, add me!! I am nine weeks post baby and back to working out. I used to be extremely fit and did fitness competitions for five years. It's crazy how much muscle mass is lost on just nine months!! I worked out heavy building muscle my first trimester and moderately until month five but having a difficult pregnancy, I worked out very little in the last four months of my pregnancy and the first 7 weeks post baby waiting (impatiently) to be fully recovered.
I've got about 18 pounds to lose to get back to my pre baby weight but Im also working on getting my gains back. Before getting pregnant I had a 50 pushup goal, I was up to 33, so I guess my first goal is to get back to 33. Anyone up for the challenge??? Add me:)0 -

Hey, add me! We could help each other out! I used to compete in fitness competitions for five years before I got married and had a baby. My baby is now nine weeks old and I'm back at it! So it's been about six months since I've really focused on staying lean and gaining muscle mass. I need all the support I can get to lose those 18 baby pounds and get back to the level I was at... And would love to help you! I competed in the bikini/athletic category and have placed 2nd, 3rd twice, and a 5th place.

I actually just posted a discussion regarding bulking, and looking for women who have/are currently bulking! Would love to connect with any of you, as well! Feel free to send me a request, and just let me know you're from the bulking thread!
I'm in the same boat it sounds like a few people are in. I've been trying to recomp for about 6 months now, and frankly I'm sick of it. I'm over the whole "I don't want to get fat" crap-- I just want some gains! I'm tired of caring about what the scale says... I saw a decent amount of newbie gains in the beginning, but I've been so stagnant lately. Time to up the calories and hit it heavier!0 -
Working on this as well...It's going to take me a little longer with a 3 month old, but I'm ready

I started a bulk at 2200 (was a bit disappointed as so little calories for a bulk) in october, gained 2 kg over the course of 2 months, but the last two weeks my weight has stayed the same (even lost a bit) aka I think this might be my new maintenance yey, so there is hope0
