A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you!!!!

The past 3 months I have been so out of control, and my weight shows it. I gave in to emotional eating, and honestly, just did not care. But I do care. I AM important. And eating food for emotional reasons will not fix anything.

But I love the start of a new year, and am going to really commit this year. I know I will have days where I am not successful, but that is OK. That is how my mindset has to be to be successful. So this new year, lets all remember that.

We try, and some days we may eat more than we should, or give in to emotional eating. But each day is a fresh start, and another new begining. The past is in the past.

So just for today, New years Day, 1/1/16
    1. Think before mindless eating
    2. no emotional eating. Journal instead my thoughts
    3. start a gratitude journal
    4. log every bite
    5. work for 8 glasses of water - 2 at each meal.
    6. Lower my expectations. I have a mentally ill daughter, and have to remember that she has a brain disease. She is doing the best she can, and I have to always remember that.
    7. Put away Christmas stuff, clean up the house. A fresh start

    1.) Recommit to my health
    2.) Clean house
3.) Not be negative to myself about my weight. Nothing good comes from spending my energy on feeling bad. Channel that energy into motivation & small changes towards better health.

Thank you everyone for posting... I don't feel so all alone now. Everywhere I look, I see people eating what they want. Here, I see people doing what I am trying to do.
    JFT, I will:
    Log all my food
Speak lovingly to myself instead of beating myself up
    Walk the dogs

    and I will remember:
A LITTLE BIT of something is better than A LOT of NOTHING! Do something, even if it's just a little.

This is such a great concept.

    JFT:
    - I work at a catering hall so tonight at work, I will not eat leftover food just because it's there.
    - I'm going to a family holiday party today so while I'm there, I'll eat small portions and track everything I eat.

Enjoyed having family over, did well considering amt of food available. Having veggie and dip, having half of dessert instead of eating whole thing, and now walking on treadmill. Also cleaned after the party. It all counts in a positive way.
