Had a "life got in the way" day yesterday. Will see if I can get in a double workout today, since I have the day off.

    Thursday:
    1. 10,000 steps :) probably...FitBit died, so I have to guess!
    2. swim a mile
    3. under 75G carbs :)

    Friday:
    1. 10,000 steps
    2. light gym workout (dealing with headache)
    3. under 100G carbs

    1. Stick with the eating plan I have prelogged - DONE
    2. Stick with my exercise plan and use the stairs at work - DONE ("almost" to the point that the stairs are "automatic" and I don't have to choose between elevator and stiars
    3. Drink all my water - DONE
    4. Get over yesterday's candy incident - DONE - someone brought donuts to work and I walked by them about 4 times, they smelled so good, but I resisted and felt so much better resisting them then I did when I ate Thursday night's candy

    JFT
    1. Stick with eating plan - including a piece of pie with dinner - only 1 piece
    2. Exercise as planned
    3. Drink all my water
    4. Decluttering as planned

    Jft Fri 1/15
-wash, dry, fold and put away laundry
-90 oz of water (yesterday not so good)
-lost .8 lbs last week. Be happy with it. I feel better after two weeks. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Didn't do so well with the first two, only 90% complete. My 16 yo son fainted at school and hit his head! Might have a mild concussion. Set me totally off my routine. I could have blown them both off but pushed through to get a bit more done.

    Jft 1/16/2016
-go to Costco to buy kale salad and have samples. Yum.
-go to grocery store and buy ingedients for recipes to cook with my sister tomorrow. Chicken, kale, chick pea stew and spiced earl grey tea.

These two are kind if big as my default is to stay home and when I run errands I don't like going by myself.

    - honestly log what I eat and stay within calories

    :)

    JFT 1/15
    - Don't give in to negative self talk that I am doomed to be overweight for life
    - Take a break from walking/ jogging since I have knee pain
    - Stay within calories
    - Remember what matters to me and stay on that path

I struggle with the negative self talk too! You are beautiful and you can do this, you are worth it. Keep on your path and you will reach your goal eventually. I took a detour the last 6 months from my path and it was not a good one!!!

This must be pretty common because I am my own worst enemy when it comes to self-talk!!! Good reminder to be kinder to myself today. I think it's good we know we do this...it's a start anyway!

I struggle with this as well. Working on getting better at it but man, it's tough sometimes. You can do this.

So, prepping for a trip to Tahoe next week. Monday-Sunday. I hear the snow is awesome this year so hoping to get 3-4 days of boarding in. Going with a group and staying in a rental house so downside is lots of food and alcohol. Ack.

    Have a fun time!!

    Thank you!!

Have a great time! That sounds wonderful. You will burn tons of calories snow burning so hopefully extra food and alcohol will balance out :)

I wanted to share this with everyone here. The manager at my gym was asked by a newspaper reporter for an "new years resolution success story".

There's a few facts wrong but overall, it's not too embarrassing! I am 5'8" not 5'6" and I didn't "stop eating carbs" I just reduced my carbs.

Did a deep clean and rearrange of the living room, cleaned the storage room and put all the Christmas boxes away.

What a great story! You are an inspirational reminder that gaining control over what we eat and how we move changes so much more of our lives than just the weight on our scales. Thank you for sharing the article.

First time here but really need to be accountable. Yesterday was a binge day, I waited way too long to eat... then I ate... and then I really wasn't hungry just anxious I guess and eat ALL THE THINGS - 1000+ calories over! Anyway today I'm starting over on a good note so I woke up late and treated myself to a nice breakfast...

    Sun 17 Jan 2016 - JFT

    1. I will log everything I put in my mouth
    2. I will have tea prior to meals because I don't really know if it's hunger or just a craving, then I'll wait and see if I'm still hungry before I eat.
    3. Remind myself that it's just a one day goal to accomplish today

    Hope everyone is doing awesome!

Here's my commitment, just for today:
1 Weigh myself - my goal is to do this every Monday, and last month i consistently "forgot".
    2. Record everything I consume in MFP.
    3. 60min of strength training.
    4. Do not drink any diet soft drinks; I'm trying some iced tea party made myself instead.
    5. Appreciate and reflect on Dr. King's work and wisdom.

Yesterday I only had 2 commitments (30min cardio & record all my food), and I completed both. It's been a long time since I've followed through on intention about my health and fitness, and it feels good to have accomplished 2 small, yet very important, actions.
