    The WHO says processed/red meat causes cancer. In 20 years I think meat consumption will be lower. When the scientists back in the day said that a new study says that smoking causes cancer, do you think people really wanted to believe that it does then? Same thing applies.

    That's ONE type of cancer that a vegetarian can be more exposed to. We have not taken into account that meat eaters are way more exposed to plenty of more types of illness.

    You are cherry picking what people are saying. No, humans haven't evolved in 20 years. But studies since then have been done to get more information, which show the original one to be mistaken. That's part of the scientific process. You know what that is, right?

    As far as the studiers eating meat ... that was why I talked about the rigorous review process required to even get published. Yes, sometimes thing slip past. But it's not like meat eaters can say "so, we decided that eating meat is good, so here's our article, publish it." Whereas for a blog, or even popular media, one can pretty much do EXACTLY that.

    Again, educate yourself on the difference!!!

    All the recent research points in the other direction, though, and you seem to be ignoring that.

    Don't forget the rigor that goes into the review process for academic journals. It's not like I can say "I like meat so this is what I'm going to say about eating it." It's the popular media that skews things for headlines (like WHO placing meat in the same cancer causing category as tobacco ... that's not at all what the metanalysis study said about meat.) And those who are just out to prove their point do for propaganda. It would really behoove you to learn the difference.

    "Your" research is pulling up articles and studies over a decade old. What I'm referring to is the academic reports of scientific studies done in the last few years. Like I said, learn the difference between propoganda, popular media, and actual rigorous scientific research.

    Humans have not evolved in the last 20 years so the research still holds validity. Second, haven't you realized that most studies are conducted by people who eat meat? That's propaganda for you right there.

    No I wouldn't say that because there would be bias. I think a double-blind study would be most effective.

    But I still want to know how you do it in the context OMP33 is talking about ... have one group eat meat and another eat a meat placebo, but one where no one, neither the participants nor the researchers, know which is which until after the study ends.

    @OMP33 There were mega studies in the 80's, before you were born, that "proved" low fat diets were the healthiest option, and everyone jumped on that band wagon. Latest research has debunked the studies from back then 1000 times over.
    Research and science is constantly evolving. It's prudent not to put all your eggs in the one basket just yet...
