Unexpected results of weight loss

In my very odd house, all the main living spaces are on the 2nd floor - kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry, bedrooms. (Downstairs has utility room, chest freezer, workout space, storage.) So nearly everything goes up and down stairs. This has never been something I've seen as a problem, even when I was obese, even with chronic knee problems.
But I recently realized something: For as long as I can remember, I've subconsciously planned things to minimize trips up and down stairs. And I don't do that any more. Now I just trot up & down them whenever the thought occurs to me.11 -

I set my goal weight to be what it was when I graduated high school 8 years ago. That would be a loss of 100lbs; I kept using a belt that I had from that time as a visual marker. When I started this I couldn't get that belt clasped at all. Now I've punched a smaller hole in the belt and I'm STILL 13lbs from hitting 100lbs lost. I didn't expect to have a smaller body already because I'm working out and building muscle!6

Thank you for the wonderful read everyone..I too have issues with people making comments as I lose weight..when I weighed 182lbs I always got the "Are you sure you want to lose more?" I guess being 5ft5in and fat all my adult life justifies this comment. Not. Anyway, love this thread. Back at over 240 and needed the inspiration. Now I am under a doctor's supervision. Guess I am the 1% whose body genetically turns my food to fat. On new pills and watching what I am eating now, hopefully soon back to writing my didn't knows.2

Collar bones are my dream One day. One day. I promise you I will smile with you. Cheers
My mantra last spring when I first started running was, "I'm coming for you, clavicles!" And I got them! Now my mantra is, "Die, belly fat, die!" :-) After 3 pregnancies and a c-section, it may never happen, but it's still a motivating goal.
Love this!

Actually fitting in seat made for the public. I can sit anywhere in pubs, aeroplanes, cinemas, the football without having to find a large chair without arms so I can sit down in comfort.5

AHHH love this!! Just a week in, myself, but I've done the yo yo thing just down to 200 and back a million times and I'm so done. This is MY body, I'm responsible for it and I'm gonna take care of it!!! Things I'm excited for:
Buying cute bras
Being able to sit with my knees pulled up to my chest- I've wanted that since I was little!
Not being at odds with my body re: movement and exercise
Being able to eat in public without feeling like people are judging you
Smaller clothes=more room in closet/suitcase
Not being hot all the time! I die in summers!
Thank you all so much for this thread, so inspiring!!!!

loads of great stuff here:
when I look down in the shower I can see the "equipment".
this might sound silly, but with just a couple of Kgs off in the last week I feel lighter on my feet more bouncy. (not bouncy in the old way)5 -

I took a bath last night, opened the drain and ALL the water went down, with no damn dam due to my butt.
Feels great to have the water flowing freely around your body.1 -
My wedding ring keeps trying to fly off all the time! I never thought I'd lose weight in my fingers, haha. Also, shoes are too big now, and my legs look longer now that my butt is lifting (I have short legs so that's a HUGE plus!)
Pretty much my entire body shape has been morphing, so instead of just getting skinnier/more toned, my waist has gone in and has actually risen a little bit, my breasts have shrunk a bit but they're also perkier, my knees are not knobby anymore and I can actually see my hipbones!
What's super weird though is when I lie on my stomach now sometimes I can feel my ribs pressing and that's super weird for me. Now I tend to wear thick baggy things when I'm lounging for some extra warmth and padding! XD4 -

I had the opposite problem, my fingers were so chubby I couldn't get the ring off My hubby bought me a second ring for our 30th and now that the weight is coming off I can take off the original and it holds the new ring in place

I coach 9-10 year old softball. I'm looking forward to being able to run around the field and participate at practice with them.3

People who I have never met before are shocked that I was 335 pounds at one point in my life.6

Knees! My God! I have to be careful lowering myself to stretch my hip flexor or doing lunges at the gym. My knees used to be squooshy but now I get bruises on the bones if I'm not careful. A problem I can live with though.
And I never really understood how useful a belt was. I've had to buy some now for some of my clothes, otherwise the waistband sags. How nice is it not to have red marks around my belly every day from my clothes being too tight.
Oddly, I seem to have cheekbones which is nice. I didn't think I had cheekbones at all - I thought I had a round face shape.5 -
The pores in my face are smaller and less noticeable.4

I actually LIKE the taste of plain old water. Who would of thunk7

No longer invisible to younger women. :-)5

1. No more thighs rubbing.
2. Some nice comments from the kind people and some jealous people pretending not to notice how much weight I lost and how fabulous I look.
3. Salesperson kept insisting I could fit into a small while I argued for a medium. She was right!!!
4. The energy.
5. Feeling frustrated on days that I have to miss a workout. My body actually craves it!5 -

That is nice... I had a cashmere sweater once upon a time, it felt so lovely to wear!
I would never wear something in this style now because I feel it would really accentuate my big fat belly, but one day! (Only to wear out of the house though - I have to slob around in old clothes indoors because my cats would ruin anything nice when they climb on me!)0 -
I'm an inch taller!!
I was measured at the GP and they told me I was 5"2. I wore a jumper had not worn for years but it now fits again, a friend asked me if I'd lost weight (thanks Fran!) and then off I went to the doctor. Same doctor, same room, same measuring thingy on the wall and BOOM, I'm 5"3. I guess I was seriously slouching through lack of confidence, trying to curl up and hide, and in my old silver sparkly number, I stood up straight for the first time in years.16 -
"... I stood up straight for the first time in years."
Wow. Stunning thought. That is just the best. Good for you, emmaling. I wish the same for the rest of us.

Someone whom I met recently commented that he bet I could fit into my high school clothes. My response was no, but only because I am smaller than I was in high school. Whoda thunk that was possible 31 years after graduation:)9

My hips sway more when I walk. I didn't expect my walk to change. I didn't think that I walked 'like a fat person,' but I guess I did.8
