    Hi everyone! I'm 48, or am I 49? (I don't dwell too much on the number). I've been on MFP for a long time ... lose a few, gain a few, lose more, they (and their friends) find me again! I'm reinvigorating my motivation to finally lose these pounds for good! I'm hoping to tap into more community support to keep that motivation fire stoked. Feel free to friend me - I am better at keeping up with the newsfeed than I am checking the message boards.

    Hi all - I'm Becky. I live in Texas. I'm 44, married with 4 kiddos ranging from 9 - 24. I also have 3 beautiful grandbabies - 3 years, 1 year and 7 months. I'm not new to MFP but I am new to the boards and am at a point where I really need some motivating friends.

    Hi. I'm Amy, 41 from GA. I have been on and off with eating healthy and exercising over the years. I gained the most weight over the last few years, during the time I met my husband. We were married in May. I started logging my calories on 2/15 and began exercising again. I have finally found some motivation in myself that I really needed.

    Hi..Im 53 and had a bad health scare in August. Was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and told that if I didnt lose weight and start exercising I would be looking at a liver transplant soon in my future. Since August I am down 73 pounds with 49 to go and my liver is much, much happier. No more pain and I dont feel like I have a softball in my stomach anymore. I wish it was all CICO for me, but I have had to completely eliminate certain things from my diet. No fats, no sugars, almost all meat and NO alcohol. Started out by walking everyday and running almost a minute at a time, now I walk miles and I can run a mile at a time. Cant believe its me doing this. I dont want to die because I cant give up eating junk....its not worth it. I want to be around to see my granddaughter grow up. Its been hard to realize that food almost killed me, but the right foods are healing me. I feel so lucky that Ive been given a second chance and Im not going to blow it this time. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like some encouragement. This site has literally been a life saver for me and I'd love to help anyone who needs it. It can be done.

    I'm 40, and boy is it so much harder now then when I was 35 to get those extra pounds off. Muscle gain is easy, love handles on the other hand is a different story.

    Funny...I find that I am able to lose weight easier now that I am in my 40's (should have put more effort into it before now) as I find that I am able to be satiated on far less food. The idea of only eating one burger and being full when I was 35 was laughable at the time...today, not an issue.

    46. 2nd time on the weight loss train. I lost almost 80 pounds on weight watchers 15 years ago and had kept most of it off (even though quitting smoking) till the last 2 years where medication has caused me to gain back. I've lost 15 pounds since July and about 20 inches around my body following a low carb high protein/fat diet and daily exercise with the help of a dr and nutritionist. It's so much harder to lose in my 40s than it was in my 30s, plus the whole peri menopause is here wreaking havoc on my body...feel free to add me, I'm very active on here, supportive and try to be motivating. Females only please.

    I'll hit the big 50 in July. Needing to get back on the wagon after falling off of it once again!!! About a year ago I lost 25lbs. using this app, but have managed to put it all back on in the past nine months. Thinking that my hormones are on a roller coaster ride and having alot of the symptoms of peri-menopause. Just looking for encouragement and motivation to get myself back to losing weight again, Thanks!

    This is a great reminder kelbels. I've seen different articles say the same thing in the last 2 yrs. It's taught me that I have to be more respectful of my body and behave less like I can cover up for excessive or careless eating by exercising. Still learning.

    Yes, I belong here. 46, 175ish and would like to lose at least 25lbs. Food is my nemesis. No willpower whatsoever. Exercise is not really my problem. I can make myself get to the gym, but have a hard time eating right or portion control. Would love new friends to get through this journey...that starts again in Monday.

    I turned 40 last summer, so working my way towards 41 :)
    I got myself into great shape with bootcamp workouts and running races two years ago but then I went back to school to complete a Master's program and totally fell off the wagon. I'm now trying to lose 20lbs and get my endurance back up. I find it so hard to stick with MFP. I will track well for the week and then stop tracking on the weekend. My dedication is just not there, but I'm trying to stick to it one day at a time.

    Hi Kel, you could do some gentle yoga to get you going at home before braving the outdoors for a walk... even half an hour makes a difference :-)

    Oh, and I'm 42 and joining in, in case no one noticed... heehee. I'm the noisy hobbit in the corner. I accept all friend requests :-)

    Hi all! I'm 42 and have been on MFP for years. I go on and off and have recently rededicated myself to get these pounds off! I was diagnosed with MS in 2012 and thankfully haven't had too many relapses. I stay active with hiking, walking, weight training, yoga and most recently boxing & muy thai! I enjoy cooking and look for healthy recipes all the time. Feel free to add me!

    Hey there! I'm Becky, I'll be 45 in May and it's definitely a lot harder to lose weight these days, I think mostly because it's harder to burn calories like I use too. I continue to work on my running and do a light workout.     I'm 44. Lost 20 pounds since January. It's hard work but still seems to work for this old body. To me it's about portion control and of course exercise.

    Hi I'm Jane, 44 in UK. Used mfp before successfully but injury in last 2 years stopped me exercising and I put 2 stone of it back on. Been active for 55 days, lost 15 lbs so far, another 14 lbs would do it now. Add me so we can keep motivating each other

    I am Kelly, turning 44 in a just a few days. I had back surgery a year ago and have fibromyalgia. I enjoy all the support that I have received from the friends I have made here.     Hello I am 42struggled with being over weight most of my life even went almost through the bariactric course for surgery, I have fought off and on to get the access weight off. Not really knowing what I was doing. I started out eating clean about three months ago, and started doing exercise by going up and down the stairs walking outside when the weather permits and stretching to help make my body more flexible. I have lost 11pounfs and having support is the best thing any of us can have.

    Hi, I'm 42 years old. Trying to lose about 20lbs. It doesn't seem like a lot, but I carry it all on my tummy - not healthy! I'm also PCOS so the weight comes off very slowly. I've been trying to lose 3 lbs a month, but even that has been s huge challenge. Add me as a friend for motivation. How do you find time to exercise between work and kids? How do you avoid munching when things get stressful?
