Hello! My first time using MFP. The hubby signed up too but he has a lot less to lose. I'm 38, 5'4" and currently 243. I made my goal to lose 100 pounds2

Hi! I am 34, and started this journey to lose weight at the beginning of December 2015 at 283 pounds. Since then, I have dropped nearly 65 pounds, and currently weigh just under 220. Right now, my goal is to break 200, and then I will work on shattering 100+ pounds lost.
I am in this for the long haul, and have so much respect for everyone who is also on this journey.9 -
i am 44 and need to lose 130lbs. I would love to be part of this group...anyone can add me, the more support the better!0

Right here, honey. I fail when I feel down- comfort eating is the ultimate saboteur- but we can do it.0

Hi every one, I'm Sophie, I'm 26 and have a lot of weight to lose. Tried every thing over the years so hoping this will do some good!! I'm struggling with the calories though m, it says I have to eat over 2500, because I'm guessing due to been heavy and tall at 6ft! Does any one else struggle to eat all the calories and if so are you still able to lose weight by eating less? I was think of around 1500?? Thanks! Sx0

Hey all! I'm in the same boat as all of you (surprise!) I've always struggled with my weight, and recently got to my heaviest at 255. I am now down to 242-240, and want to get down to at least 150. The lowest I have ever been is 178, and that was a number of years ago. I struggle with being motivated, knowing what to eat, not overeating, and finding the time/desire to exercise. It would be great to have more support in this journey!1

My big issue is portion sizes. She went over what a serving size is with the cute models of foods. I learned what a serving of meat actually looks like. Honestly, I had no idea!
She also gave me a plate with 3 dividers in it, one slot for veggies, one for protein, and one for grains. I find it very useful for it gives me a visual of how much a portion is.
I learned I was even over doing the coffee creamer. I was just pouring it in until it was extra sweet. No wonder I wasn't losing weight.
I also start a support group at the local hospital for people like us who need to lose 100 or more. I've done the program before and gleaned a lot from it but it's time to go back and pick up where I left off.
It focuses on the psychology of over eating as opposed to the external approach of just counting calories and eating foods deemed healthy.
I think that is a great idea to work on the psychology, as well as the actual dieting. There definitely is a connection between the two.0 -

I am assuming that you have over 100 lbs to lose? 1500 may be too low. I have been eating about 1800 calories since I started my program and I have lost over 100 lbs. I still am on the same program. MFP told me over 2000 to start and still says over 2000. When I eat between 1560 and 1800 I am fine. I am not hungry at all. I am sure others will chime in, but if you can eat 2000 calories and lose weight why not do it?1 -
I'm 24, 5'4" and I have a whopping 120 pounds to lose. I would love to encourage you as we take on this journey together!0

I'm aiming for 100lbs down. I'm looking to get in the 180 range (I'm 6'1) from 290. Feel free to add me!0

I work at a gym so i am surrounded by fitness but i have a long way to go. I could use some support and would love to help anyone out as well!!0

ADD ME TOO!!! I'm 353 pounds and only 5'7. I have a LOT more than 100 to lose, but slow and steady wins the race. I, too, have failed on MFP the first time around like some of you. This is my 2nd time and I'm really focused. I would love a new friend that also has 100+ to lose.
Good luck, ladies!1 -
Add me please!! I have over 100 pounds to lose and need the support! Thanks.0

First of all congratulations on your weight loss and it's nice knowing that while following the 1800cal intake you've lost so much. I've been sticking to that one too but got a bit concerned that maybe I should lower it since it seems most of my fellow MFP friends are on lower ones. But having lost 10kg so far. Since end of Jan I think I'll be all right Annoyingly I've had to reduce to under 1000cal for medical reasons but personally I'd never choose such a low amount, and I don't recommend anyone else to do so either (unless implemented by a doctor/specialist) it's completely unsustainable long term. It's going to be interesting transitioning back to regular food.0 -
I'm trying to lose 100 lbs too. You can add me - whoever wants to! I am just starting over . I lost 60, then gained it back beacause I'm stupid lol/.1

I've lost about 41 pounds, but still have 80-90 to lose. I'm 5'4". Anyone can add me if you want.0

I've don't much better this time (started 2/19/16) and hope to keep up the momentum. I'll send you a friend request!checkthestove wrote: »I'm 23, 5'7, and I have a LOT of weight to lose. (Men are also welcome! I just wanted to to specify my own goals so that I can work with women in the same boat as me)

Hello everyone. I started strong but as always I fell off. But not completely. I fall apart once I get home and ready to have dinner. I love chicken but fried always wins. I know I need the help. I am at 325 and I want to get down to atleast 200 pounds. I have a goal of losing at least 80 pounds before my vacation in February 2017.0
