is it bad that I'm thinking about registering for another half, after my September half, because along with the medal, you also get a running Jacket?2

well, it messes into my training schedule, but I just registered for a 5k.....Basically makes my Sunday run a 5k instead of 4 miler....Mothers Day 5K I'll be running with my mom, and my wife registered too and she and my sister will use the 5k as a nice stroll with my little man.
Now to decide on that Half in October...it's almost exactly a month after My September half, and they will be my first and second halves, respectively........1 -
Hello! It's been 12 days away from this group and 1.1K new messages!! I've missed jumping in here and catching up on everyone. I haven't been going so strong with mfp lately, I've been active though less of it with running, but after my anniversary and beach trip I've had troubles getting back on track with my eating. Though I still haven't drank so it's been about 8 weeks with no alcohol, and I have nondesire, urges or cravings for it.
There is 12 weeks now until Relay for Life and I want to run laps this year instead of just walking so I thought I better get back in here where I am most encouraged. I'm reading the book 40 Days... the guy who ran around Michigan lake by running a marathon each 40 days. I can't wrap my mind around it at all but wow! So inspiring.
I also have 4 weeks till I turn 45 eek! And I want to make this an awesome four weeks and get completely back on a healthy track. I want to be empowered by this number and not afraid of it!
And last, my grandbaby turned 1 this past Sunday. She has been such a light since my dad passed, and soon she will be very active herself. I want to keep up and encourage and share as many experiences with her outdoors as possible.
It's been a rough year for me, I'm sorry for my inconsistencies for those who've been affected or have experienced them, but I keep pushing through and that won't stop!
With that all said, I actually stated back at the beginning of c25k again today. Since I've been gone when I ran it would be a 20 min run at a 15 min per mile pace. So I jumped back and increased to 12 min per mile pace. May have gone too far back, but I have time so I'll just continue with this and complete the first 2 and a half weeks for April.5 -
What??? They added likes to the forums?? I have definitely been MIA!! Guess preparing a house for sale and getting it up on the market will do that to a person!1

Race jacket and Medal, Live music along the course, Net 400 foot downhill course...I keep telling myself, I haven't run a half marathon yet, let alone anything more than 7 miles, but this one looks too cool, and it's only like 4-5 weeks after my other one, so It shouldn't be too hard to keep in shape for it.......1 -

No problem. Just do a one mile warmup before the race, and you have your 4 miles.

4/13 – 3.92 easy
April total to date – 91.04
Nominal Challenge Goal – 200 miles
Real Goals: Taper well. Arrive at Hopkinton healthy. Run Boston well. Recover well.
Today's notes – The assignment was 30 easy minutes. Typical taper, I went out and ran what felt good, and it turned out to be a bit faster than the target easy pace. 3.92 miles in 30:01 for an average pace of 7:39 per mile. On the plus side, average heart rate was 126 and max was 141, with 73% of the time in Zone 2. So that's close enough to easy. Didn't run Methodist Hill because I decided on the spur of the moment that I didn't want to deal with traffic. Ran the back side of the hill, up and down three times on residential streets instead. Floating down the hill contributed to the faster pace, and it felt easy.
Today was also my last day at the office before Boston. This morning, I found that my co-workers weren't just spacing me off as I babbled about Boston:

January 1, 2016 Resolution Run 7.5 mile (Mendon, NY) finished in 53:58

@5BeautifulDays I'm really just a short distance north of Covington, up in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere. I love it here! I haven't checked out the Jackson River Trail, yet, but I'm excited to once school lets out and I have more time. My hubby and I use the R&R event as an excuse to vacation without Little Man. We just did the 5k last year, and it was awesome!1

Thanks all for the kudos for the half ironman (as I'm not doing a full ironman 140.6 with the full marathon at the end until the fall). Not to under-play a 5 hour race, but I definitely was pretty mobile the next day, and although slightly fatigued felt infinitely better than how I usually am after a marathon.
Took two rest days to pack up my stuff, swap condos in my building, then unpack before returning back north today. Landed early enough to join my regular northern running pal for a 9 miler this afternoon after taking care of a few errands, bike fixes, and some lifting. Loved the cooler weather, and I'm going to try my final pre-marathon 20 miler in the AM tomorrow as it is down in the 40s by then and doing it tomorrow should give me about 2.5 weeks of taper time before my marathon on May 1.
4/1 - 0.5 mile (pre-lift warm-up)
4/2 - 6.5 miles (speedwork - 6 x 5 min threshold/1 min rest)
4/3 - 20 miles (8 super-easy, 7 easy, 5 mid-hard)
4/5 - 4 miles
4/6 - 8 miles (w. 6x1km repeats at 10K pace in middle)
4/8 - 2 miles
4/10 - 13.1 miles (Ironman Florida 70.3, 1:40:14 run, 5:07 total time)
4/13 - 9 miles
Total: 63 miles
Goal: 160 miles
Remaining: 97 miles
Upcoming races:
5/1 - Pittsburgh Marathon
9/25 - Ironman 70.3 Augusta
10/9 - Chicago Marathon (lottery TBD)
11/5 - Ironman Florida

You early birds have invaded my brain. I woke at 4:30 am today. But I resisted, and didn't get up until "only" 5:30 am.3 -

I'm wondering if there's anybody that could give me advice about organizing a 5k walk/run for my community. I coach Girls on the Run and also work at a library where our theme for summer is the library Olympics. I have been given the ok to have a 5k for the library but now I am not sure how to get the whole thing organized please message me if you have any ideas and they will be greatly appreciated!!4

@Becky71_cm Welcome back!!
@MNLittleFinn I'll say this about the October HM; I have done 2 Team Ortho races (Chicago Monster Dash and Minneapolis Marathon) and their swag and races are great: fun, well-organized, and aid stations well-stocked. But a few months ago there was some hubbub about them not being a great charity organization, in that they don't actually give much at all to the charity they represent. So you may want to do a bit of digging and see what you can find before you decide if you want to support their organization by running the race.
@MobyCarp That's so nice of your co-workers! They did a great job decorating I added all the people I know running Boston to my tracking app, so it's feeling real (for me... can't imagine how you Boston runners are feeling right about now)!0 -

Run was good this morning. Easy pace. Right arch was still a little annoying, but it doesn't hurt a lot, just a noticeble, small ache, it wasn't there to start and kind of developed through the run. Used my other shoes today, ones that I've never had problems with, through almost 100 miles.2
