can you afford a professional lesson or 2. Perhaps the problem is not you but lack of clear teachig. It's a skill and takes good teaching and good practice to learn.3

My favorite jeans are a boyfriend cut from The Limited. I tried on a pair this weekend and a 12 fit with ease...in all actuality they were too big! I could literally fit both hands down my pants. The pants have a little stretch to them, so I know wearing them throughout the day they will just get bigger. So excited that I actually need at least a 10! Unfortunately the next size down in the store was a 4, so I wasn't able to try another pair on or purchase any.
My mini goal was to get to a 10 by my vacation later on this month, and looks like I'm there in at least one brand!14 -
1. Signed up for a 12 week triathlon training program a week ago.
2. Decided that since I've been maintaining/very slow progress since January that I wouldn't track my food or weight until after the program. Just focus on enjoying the ride and feeling good.
3. Had to go to the doc for something completely unrelated and she said that she hoped I wasn't weighing myself regularly because that's really not where my focus should be. Bingo! High five doc!8 -
I've lost almost 20lbs. The other day I was sitting and noticed I had crossed my legs! I hadn't been able to do that and didn't even think about it when it happened!11

I have sustained a 50 lb loss since Aug 2015. But the NSV was my brother who is >300lbs at dinner said he was doing portion control and decreasing carbs. I don't preach, just try to lead by example; and it's working!16

I'm going to a conference that I went to last year and I didn't have to get new clothes because I'm the same size.15

I can see the sides of my stomach getting smaller! I can start to see what the sides of my stomach will look like now just waiting for my "baby pooch" to go away! And, I think my legs are looking smaller but I'm not sure if it's just wishful thinking or not I'll check measurements later this month!7

My wedding ring is slipping OFF of my finger!!! It keeps turning around and it's slowly inching up to my knuckle. In a way, that's great but in a way, not so much. I'm scared of losing it!
They sell clear sizers that fit onto the back so that you don't loose them until you're ready to get them sized!3 -
I ran a full 10k in 60 mins of non-stop running for the first time ever in the weekend. I also went shopping for summer tops (inspired by the gorgeous weather). They are SLEEVELESS for the first time in years. No hiding my arms in jumpers this summer!19

NSV#1: Filled 3 large garbage bags of clothes that I can no longer wear (too big). Dropped them off at the donation drop box down the road from my house.
NSV#2: Transitioned from obese to overweight on the BMI scale.
NSV#3: On Friday, I repeated a 10km hike that I did last fall, and shaved 11 minutes off my time.23 -

It can take a few tries to pass the driving test. I took it three times before passing. No, the third time was not the charm. And it took a few years from learner's permit to license. Being behind the wheel may come naturally to some, but there is no shame if it isn't easy for you.4 -
Posted a new Facebook profile pic, full length shot, wearing a tank top . . . got comments like " Dang! Buff lady! Check out those arms" (from an athletic woman 30 years younger than I am), and "I want arms like those! i'm going to research arm transplants." (from a cousin my age), among others. Makes me blush, but it feels good, too! Losing weight made my rowing muscles show, I guess.14

I reached for my pajama shirt and picked up my husbands size small band t ahirt i almost didnt try it on bc they were always too tight to be comfy.. It fit and its a bit loose too. Im so happy i could cry lol13

Hit 42 lbs lost this morning and wearing pants that I love but haven't fit into in years.16

Someone finally noticed. My boyfriend's mom said yesterday "not to be too forward but how much weight have you lost? You look really good! Not that you looked bad before..."24

I shortened the chest strap on my heart rate monitor by 2 inches. That was the first adjustment I've made in the 3+ months I've been losing, and was prompted by the danged thing threatening to fall to the floor.9

Don't quit....it took me 9 attempts and I wouldn't quit till I passed that mother....10 -
Clothes and fitness milestones this week.
I have lowered my average pace to between 8:25 (over 3 miles) and 8:28 (over 5 miles). Previously I hung out around 9:45-10 min miles and was psyched when I hit 9:30. Now I feel like I'm flying!
I fit into my "regular " jeans and some are even gaping a bit in the waist! And I fit into my two favorite sundresses, which I bought at my lowest weight.
Hubs sent me shopping for Mother's Day and I had a great time trying on dresses and pants that I actually want to wear! (Not the 75% off clearance rack at target "just to get me through " stuff I've been wearing).13 -

That's awesome. I think a lot of times when people don't mention it it's because they don't want to be rude. My MIL on the other hand has a habit of commenting on how "skinny" I'm getting (which I hate) and then reaching out and touching my stomach (which I despise). A simple "you look good" would suffice.5 -
I've got a couple
1. My FAVORITE dress is almost to big on me now (sad day) the back slowly kept sliding down when I wore it yesterday..I don't think I will be able to wear it anymore Though now I need to go find a new favorite dress.
2. After lunch today I was craving something sweet...I was headed for the ice cream in my freezer and at the last minute I remembered I have a delicious honey greek yogurt in the fridge! Ate that with a few dark chocolate chips mixed in and it was a treat that was hard to beat!11 -
Looked at myself in the mirror this morning before getting dressed, and actually thought that I looked a bit smaller!
Also, gave hubby a goodbye cuddle and he must have spent about a minute feeling my waist and saying that there was definitely less of me.
A couple of the 'new' (secondhand) tops I bought recently are starting to feel a bit big already.8 -
I've got one!
After the gym yesterday I stopped at a place to get a salad, and two ladies who I see sometimes in class stopped me to say they've noticed that I've really started to lose weight. Yay, someone notices!
Lol it did get a little uncomfortable for me when they asked how much I lost, and after a slight hesitation on my part I did tell them. But I think I need to come up with a game plan for when I'm asked in the future how I want to respond...just me, but I don't think I'll be comfortable broadcasting 1-just how fat I was or 2- that despite how much I have lost I still have awhile to go. I never thought about it before and didn't think I would care one way or the other....but strangely enough I think I do!
But the bright spot....people are noticing!12 -
I fit easily into a pair of denim shorts that were just a bit too tight in the waist last summer. The compression shorts I run in are too loose and need to be replaced. My wedding band is loose. No double chin in my passport photos (even though I look like a zombie anyway lol). I really need to focus on some NSV, because I'm not quite where I was hoping to be at this point. I am proud of myself for sticking with it, even though it's been slow going.7

Between school and work it's taken me 5+ months to do an 8-week program, but I'm only two weeks away from finishing Zombies5K! I'm so excited - if I stick to my current pattern, next Saturday is the big 5K run day.
Also, apparently I'm not going crazy - a certain pair of black pants really are hanging on me. I've been wondering for WEEKS if they've always been loose and hanging off my behind until last night, when my mother remarked "wow, those are getting really loose on you!" and that they used to be much snugger.6 -
My trainer told me this morning that my husband and I are the most successful people he has worked with since he started at this gym
I also made it through my first rock climbing class and got farther up the wall then I thought I would can't wait for the next class!13 -

That's a nice boost!
I can imagine it might get a bit embarrassing - you could just say that you're not really comfortable discussing your weight (it would be rude of people to continue to press for an answer after that), or if you wanted something kinda vague as a response you could try something like "enough to make a difference but I'm not where I want to be yet - thanks for noticing!".

Had to donate half of my summer shorts to the second hand clothes store - happy but (weirdly) sad.

My husband sent me shopping with my Sister in law for Mother's Day, and I got three medium sized shirts and had to go down three sizes in jean shorts! So now I've got clothes that fit and that I feel great in, plus I can really see the size difference.7

I tried on one of my pretty dresses that was bought at my last low. It was too loose. Time to look for a new pretty dress for date night.9
