Funny how much a tiny movement on a scale can motivate a person! I just hope I can keep up these new habits. I feel as though I've broken my "sugar" habit, though I still have a little bit every now and then. Last night DH really wanted Rita's and while the good choice would have been sugar-free italian ice, I am a lover of soft serve so I was going to have custard. I took time to savor every last bite...but it also meant my fasting time would be shifted since I ate later than usual. Anyway the scale was kind to be again this morning, but since I'm trying to stick to Wednesday morning weigh-ins, I'll wait and see if this loss was a good one.

I've searched and can't find any group by that name, or with you as group leader. Why isn't it coming up?

I just want to say that fitness over 40 is hard work and totally possible! I'm 46 and I have battled a lifetime of bad nutrition, fad diets and weight loss/weight gain too. And the universe thought it would be a kick to throw thyroid dysfunction and vertigo in there too.

Five years ago I started making small changes to my nutrition, then moved into strength training. I have no desire to go the road of a bodybuilder, but I do strive for a balanced life of health, fitness, mindfulness (and cookies! lol). It continues to be daily work as I learn more and more about my body. Setbacks happen and I deal with those too.

A year ago I became a personal trainer and opened a small gym in my home to help other ladies learn to strength train (the key to healthy aging in my opinion). I'm no lifelong expert but I gladly share what I have learned, hoping to give someone else motivation to find their way. Honestly, helping other gives me the motivation to keep doing what I do. I never liked working out, but I've learned to love it.

Please feel free to add me. I don't want to get in trouble for saying this (I don't know if it's allowed), but I've just started a facebook page for motivation and celebration purposes (I don't sell anything online or endorse any products). The page is REALLY new (I haven't even told my friends yet lol) but I want to give my clients and others a place to learn, celebrate their victories and find support when needed. I would welcome conversation! https://www.facebook.com/flexandflexibility/

Please know that you can do this!! It has nothing to do with willpower...that's crap. It's about mindfulness. Knowing that every decision you make leads to an outcome. Its hard work but that just makes the journey sweeter.

Love this! Tried to add you (and many others) but just doesn't seem to be working for me. Liked your FB page - it's motivational.

I'll be 45 in October and I want to be in better shape. I need the motivation and looking for friends. I'm trying to get connected but please don't feel like I left if I don't post every day. A special needs child can really take control of my attention.

Hi all!! One 42 year old mom of two here. Been a big girl all my life. Tried every diet. Never successful. So now it's a different approach. Healthier choices and gym time. Taking up hiking which I love.. And just living my life without anymore excuses. It's great to read everyone's posts and know we are in this together.

Hi, I'm going to be 41 this year. I need to lose around 15-20 to get to a goal weight I've been wanting to achieve for a long time! Over the past few years I've lost around 30 pounds since having my daughters 11 and 9 years ago. I exercise every day, usually a Beachbody program. I'm currently doubling up doing PiYo every day, at week 3 now, along with whatever program takes my fancy that morning! I've requested to join the group. Thanks

Hiya - another 40+ here. Need to lose 70lb but will take it in baby steps. I'm still blaming baby weight - but the "baby" is turning 3 years old this week

hahahaha my baby weight... mine is 11years old!! hahahhaa

I'm 40+ also. My 3rd son is 13. I just started MFP last Friday and have lost 0.8 pounds. My goal is 1 pound a week. I'm happy with that as I have been on a plateau since November. I am loving MFP and the people in the community.
