Do you feels it's important to look and feel your best when your significant other proposes marriage to you?

No.
I feel it's important to look and feel my best for my own peace of mind though.6 -

If they propose marriage then they must feel as though you are the best for them, just the way you are!28 -
No. While I am working toward being healthier and happier in my own skin, I wouldn't allow the fact that I'm not there yet interfere with my enjoyment of life.5

Well I wouldn't want to do it while standing in a vat of raw sewage but the fact that somebody was asking me to marry him would make me feel pretty good on its own. Of course, I think that out-of-the-blue proposals are silly and that people should discuss getting married before actually getting engaged.
Are you talking about waiting to lose weight/get in shape before getting engaged or are you talking about being dressed up or what? This is a vague question.11 -

How do you know when someone's about to propose to you? By the time they're on one knee it's a bit odd to go do a few push ups
Pretty sure I would feel my best, or at least feel bloody amazing, if my partner proposed marriage to commit to a life together. And honestly, I couldn't care less if he was in sweatpants and I was in pyjamas slumming on the couch.10 -
I feel it's important to look and feel my best every day of my life.9

Both...but mainly the former. You're totally right, though. Just having someone propose would be amazing.1 -

I depends on what is important to you. It isn't important to me but some people treat the proposal like a big production or photoshoot occasion. Are you planning to do that? If you are worrying more about your appearance than thinking about the rest of the marriage that probably isn't a good sign.
My dh and I were sitting in my bedroom and kind of just casually mutually proposed. I may have been in my pj's. I was not wearing makeup. I have no idea what dh was wearing. It wasn't planned. We had been going out for a month and had known each other for 3 months. No one else was there. There are no photos. I got a ring a month later. It really isn't important in the grand scheme of life what we looked like at that moment or that it wasn't a big production. We loved each other and have been married for 16 years now.14 -
What could I expect? I weighed 270 when I proposed.1

Nope. My first was in a dive bar, second was while I just woke up with my hair a mess, unbrushed teeth, etc.4

Honestly looking back I wish I hadn't been so overweight when we got engaged (and obese when we got married). When I look at our wedding pictures I look terrible and its fairly stressful now that I've lost most of the weight trying to figure out if they can even resize my very expensive wedding set appropriately1

This answer made me smile! Thank you.0 -
If there is a photographer involved I would hope my hair is brushed at least.1

Honestly if I was being proposed to I'd probably be so shocked I'd throw up everywhere and being fat would be the last thing on my mind after that.5
