I walked up a huge hill today. Not dreadfully impressive until you know that this hill nearly killed me to walk up just six months ago - I had to stop at the top for a long time to recover back then. Today I walked up it without even thinking it was difficult and once I got to the top I just carried on, no recovery time required! In fact, I even got impatient with people getting in my way (but only internally )21

Ring muscle up! Sloppy, but I'll improve.

I was dreaming that I was telling people about Strong Lifts 5x5, deadlifts and proper form... lol (But even in my dreams they were uninterested to listen. teehee) NSV is my brain being a lot friendlier to me in my sleep and reminding me to get back to it after over a week time off.9

Yesterday I rode to the George Washington bridge along the river. The victory wasn't so much that I could do it, as the route is flat. It was the decision to get up and out as soon as the sun came up and it kept me feeling positive all day.

I am tumble-drying the clothing that I used to hang dry to prevent shrinkage.33

omigosh, i jogged 12 minutes straight on the treadmill yesterday at 3.9 mph and i DIDN'T feel like i was going to die!25

Grandbabies, grandbabies, grandbabies! I have 5 now--2 brand new grand-daughters to spoil! The NSV to this is that the changes I've made to have a healthier life are paying off in that I'm still around!! And I plan to be for a VERY long time--gotta watch these critters all grow up! I love being able to do things with them.30

I made a delicious spinach and artichoke pasta bake for dinner last night. Decided to start with 2/3 of a serving instead of a whole serving. I noticed that I was satisfied with that serving (YAY!), and then when I finished, I realized I had forgotten to put the neufchatel into the sauce, and it was still really good!12

a random guy at my gym told me he could really see that my working out is paying off. He said he had noticed that I lost weight since I started coming to the gym. It was a little creepy, but I loved the compliment.22

Yes! I started doing this with a few of my things too, in the hope that they won't be so baggy...
Oh, and my own NSV... My original pair of 'goal jeans', that had an inch or two gap between button and buttonhole when I started, are now loose enough that I can pull them up and down without undoing anything. And I can now comfortably fit into the second-to-last pair I have that didn't fit - only one more pair to go, then I'll be forced to buy more!15 -
It's getting harder and harder to keep my just-recently-become-tiny body pumping at an aerobic heart rate or above in spin class (classes I've been taking for yeeeaaarrrs) - I keep working like a grey-haired granny demon to do it, though.18

My wedding ring is getting loose and spinning around my finger.10

Today I bought two swimsuits - not bikinis; I have never been that girl and 52 is a bit late to start - and they both look good. I need not be ashamed by the pool with the Canadian half of the family this Summer.17

Denying fast food 3 times this week, even though I could have fit it into my calories.19

1) Went into Dunkin Donuts for my coffee this morning, and it was national donut day, and they offered me a free donut...and i turned it down because it would have put me over too much for the day!
2) tried kale for the first time today, and i like it.34 -
Realizing that wearing loose pants is actually normal... lol... most of the world probably knows this already...18
-
1) My bras are now so big that they slide down my back all the time. Have to get some new ones. DH is like and it's not because I'll be spending yet MORE money.
2) Someone overheard me talking to a friend about his weight loss program (meal replacement shakes, bless him) and her jaw nearly hit the floor when she heard how much weight I've lost by counting calories. It was really, really funny (but I guess that you had to have been there).16 -
I went to the local lingerie store today to try out some Spanx as I've never owned any but feel like they might be a good idea given the dress I'm buying for a wedding in August. I tried on the size S of the "maximum support" high waisted short dealies and they went on really easy and didn't seem to do anything so I asked the owner if I was Spanx-ing wrong (lol). She says to me,
"Well I could order in XS ones for you but you'd have to stop losing weight because they don't make them smaller than that. Honestly though I don't think you need to buy them, you aren't very big."
The woman who has to sell Spanx to make a living telling me not to buy them...I will take it! lol.
I also went and attempted to purchase one of those metal ring resizers for my wedding set and they didn't have any that would size my ring down enough. Essentially no one wants to sell me anything today haha
(Also, if anyone knows of a smaller running brand of shapewear please PM me! Some of my stretchmarks are so deep they show through clothes which is what I'm trying to minimize )22 -
I went to a restaurant that we frequently go to. When we sat in the booth, my stomach didn't touch the table anymore!!20

I can now wear the small FitBit band. I'm tossing the large and will not go back to that size!12
-
I walked into the gym and people's jaws were dropping at how lean I looked. I haven't lost weight in a month, but obviously recomp is happening.11

I have an NSV that actually has to do with my scale but not directly related to how much I weigh.
I bought a scale a few weeks ago and it has all these fancy options to calculate you body fat percentage, water weight, bone percentage etc. When I set it up for my height and weight it came back with an error message. The manual said that the particular error code meant I was too high off the fat percentage chart and I should consult a physician.
Well I tried it again today. The fat % was super high... But I am no longer off the chart and no longer get the error message!30 -
After three years post hike injury and poor conditioning due to weight gain, I was able to hike again last weekend. Immediately following my hike I went for a 5.5 mile walk. Three months ago, I could do neither.

I've run 63km (39 miles) in the first six days of this week. If the weather cooperates tomorrow, I'll make at least 70km for the week.17

2 nsvs. I have to wear a belt now for size 10, us size 29 for two pairs of jeans. Looked at measurements and I should be able to fit size 8 now ( don't ever remember this low, I've got to a 9 before when I was ave Bmi before children).
Also I've run close to 70km last week.

I can drive a few different routes to work in the morning and when I feel that urge to stop at McDs or BK for breakfast I take the route that has no fast food restaurants on the way. Then I get over it!16 -
Woke up this morning and I measured my inches for the first time since March and I was pleasantly surprised to see that I've lost 4 inches over all! So yeah me!17

I have cleared a spot in my spare room to stack empty butter boxes. One box of butter is one pound of fat. Today I was able to add No. 22 to the pile and it is amazing to see what 22 pounds of butter looks like and imagine having that much less volume on my body. Can't wait to see 50!29

I'm going "hiking" (read walking in the woods) 2-3 timed a week for cardiovascular fitness. My CV fitness is, let's face it, crap. Though not terribly overweight I'm both horribly out of shape and a smoker. The good news is I can see a drastic improvement from one session to the next. Booyah!
I was aiming to go 1.75 miles today. Each session I've been upping my mileage by about .25 miles as I've only got an hour to play with before I have to sleep before work. I got a little lost on the way back to the parking lot (the bloody thing moved, I swear!) And ended up going 2.3 miles instead!
I felt completely awesome and I didn't want to stop when I got to my car, though I did because I was out of time. I also carved a minute and a half, two minutes off my average time per mile.
I can also confirm that exercise is an appetite surpressant because I'm about 500 under my 'goal' and that's ignoring my 800 cal burn today.
I'm off to a shower, some yogurt and bed.
Keep rockin' on everybody!
(Also, I may well be high as a kite on endorphins...)12
