kimbernada wrote: »Buying new underwear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My "old" underwear, which were only a few months old, no longer stayed up. I took my dogs for a walk last week or so, and my undies were only held up by the crotch of my sweatpants. And... my sweatpants were too big too. To get the crotch in the "right" spot, I had to pull them up to under the girls. Yeah, it was interesting. I ended up having to hold the dogs' leashes in one hand and my pants in the other hand. (Holding the pants up, not actually carrying my pants.)
Anyhow, so now I have a huge stash of Victoria's Secret underwear that are too big. RATS. The good news is that I've found that I really like the Fruit of the Loom boy shorts. So, they cost much less and are actually more comfortable. I guess that's a win-win situation.
Love it!5 -
The other day, I zipped up a jacket that I haven't been able to wear in about 4 years! Down 35lbs since the beginning of March, and no stopping in sight!18

My work jeans, awesome in their worn out more patches than original denim look, haven't stayed up even with a belt for some time. Yesterday they literally fell of, and while leaning over to pull them up again, I ripped my favorite t-shirt shoulder to shoulder.5

I said, thanks for giving me your look of approval. He said I did a good job, that he had just gotten to the weight I was lifting not too long ago and it took him a while. The guy that was spotting me was also encouraging me to squeeze out a few more reps. Feeling good, and then some haters had to hate.
There were two guys working out next to me and one of them was talking, possibly on the phone (headphones) and said, "I can't believe it. This fat woman just walked up in here and lift weight most men struggle with. A fat woman......Fat.... liftin weights." They couldn't have been four feet away from me, and felt the need to say, 3 times, "fat woman," knowing full well I could hear them, clearly, talking about me.
I ignored it and started a new set.
This makes me so mad that those guys were such jerks putting you down rather than complimenting your efforts. I don't understand why anyone would want to make another person feel bad for getting healthy. Good for you for ignoring them!23 -
3 months ago I bought some great brand jeans at the op shop for $10. Though they were tight I wanted them as they were a great pair. Size 11 Australian. Now I can take them on and off, even after washing, without undoing buttons. Holding them up with a belt11

Not sneaking into the office kitchen to have a cupcake because I finally realise that just because no one can see it doesn't mean it doesn't count!31

I am able to comfortably cross my legs and my belt needed tightening a notch this morning.7

I gained one of my dimples back too, I forgot I had it! I'm also now having the issue of needing to get every one of my watches resized. It's a good problem to have.9

I can relate to that and it's probably the reason I gained at THIS particular job. There is always something yummy in the break room. Yesterday it was applesauce cake with caramel frosting. I did sample it this morning, AND I counted it into my daily sheet - being accountable helps me realize my limits and now that I've tasted it I can move along. I no longer fear cake. LOL!11 -
This may sound silly, but recently realized I can tie my shoe without having to sit down or put my foot up on something.24

Down to size /10 jeans and medium in most things. I am starting to think my goal weight will be too low but we shall continue and see where I go.11

Had a bad day last week with some hidden NSV's...
My wife had a small heart attack on tues, I say small because the EKG's were all negative and it took the blood test to confirm it actually happened. The angioplasty (sp?) went well and they gave her a stent in one artery that was partially blocked. Now she's home and getting bored with the inactivity.
The good things that came out of it:
1) Cardiologist said the only thing he could lecture her to change is her smoking because we had already changed how we were eating and we had both started going to the gym going at least 3 times a week since Jan. She has now decided to stop smoking and is working towards that goal.
2) He complimented her on her weight loss to this point (50 lbs).
3) The nurses were amazed that her only complaints about the food was that in some cases we were eating healthier at home. She even shared some recipes with them
4) She can't wait for the clearance from the doctor to go back to the gym.
I view some of these as NSV's for me because it's been a journey that we started together and we keep each other motivated. She hopes that eventually her bum knees will allow her to start joining me on longer walks and hikes. If that doesn't pan out I will probably look at getting us bikes.
We talked it over and are both very glad that if this was going to happen it's happened after we'd made the decision to change our lives.49 -
Last weekend I went hiking in Norway. Hiked to Pulpit Rock twice and then hiked up 4,444 very steep and narrow steps up a mountain side. Didn't think I had it in me but did it. Felt so proud.
Then wore a dress for a wedding last week which was loose but when I bought it a month ago it was a tad tight. Getting in shape feels amazing.19 -

They're so jealous and threatened! Keep it up!13 -
One of my female coworkers greeted me this morning by calling me "the incredible melting woman." I LOVE it!18

My swim bottoms are way too big now...9

I can fit into size 14 pants. A month ago at the same weight I couldn't even zip them up!!
And my wedding ring is getting loose again even though I had it resized awhile ago!11 -
When standing erect looking down and seeing my toes!!!!7

Needed to get a halter style bra for my friends wedding next month. Went to Victoria's Secret knowing that their 38C would work. Tried it on, and I was all the way on the inside hook. Decided to give the 36 a shot and it fit AMAZING. Probably one of the most expensive beige pieces of undergarment I'll ever own but I was so happy. I went home and went through my existing bras and found a few that were too big. I haven't lost a lb in over a month so that was nice to see.21

I made over 100 cakes and biscuits for my daughter's Air Cadets Squadron's Annual Inspection and didn't eat any of them, even though in my previous life I would have munched my way through a few between my kitchen and the squadron . . .17

A pair of shorts my wife bought me last month in my "normal" size and I was so embarrassed when they were to small to do up, I tried them on again this morning for the first time since. Were loose on me.18

For Christmas my husband bought me a massage from my favorite therapist. I chose to use it today as its been a long time since I had a massage.
While blissfully laying on her table, I asked her if she has a new table. She said, "no, why?" I said because it feels so much larger. She said, " no silly, you are much smaller"
Made my day!32 -
A few things
1. I can actually touch my toes (never was able to do that ever)
2. The front of my thigh has a very noticeable muscle when I am laying down with my knee pointing up. It used to be just fat looking.
3. I can fit into a pair of dress pants that I used to wear about 15 years ago.
4. When I started up 2.5 months ago, my shins and lower calves would really hurt after just walking a mile in 20 minutes. Now I can walk 2+ miles at a faster rate with no pain.19 -

I had a bad bad day this week emotionally and I didn't soothe with food!! This is a big one for me. I missed my exercise that day due to the happenings of the day and the next day when I exercised I felt so good I finally got that feeling of "needing to exercise" up until this week I always exercised because you should now it's because I want to!19

In September 2011, my brother-in-law was badly injured at the Reno Air Races when one of the planes crashed into the crowd. He was in a coma for 6 weeks, and once he began to come out of the coma, he struggled hugely in trying to do even the simplest things, like sitting up on his own. As I watched him work so hard, I decided to take on a physical task that was a challenge for me. I wanted to honor his amazing attitude and commitment to becoming stronger by doing something that I had never been able to do -- and that was to do a pull-up. A few months later, he was beginning to lift small weights and to exercise regularly. I told him about my commitment to do a pull-up (I was still a long way away), and he challenged me to a race to see who could do one first. I agreed, convinced I would beat him. He was, after all, recovering from a serious brain injury and had also lost most of the fingers on one hand along with the loss of an eye. Happily, Bill managed to do his pull-up about 4 weeks later, in February 2012. Me on the other hand? I continued to struggle. But, I'm proud to announce that I finally did my pull-up about two weeks ago, and I've done several since then. I cried like a baby when I finally accomplished my goal. So, yes, it's a bit sad that it took me 2 1/2 years to do a pull-up, but it's one of my proudest accomplishments ever!
That is awesomme! I have never done a pull up amd that is my goal to do one!9 -
Being able to actually see muscles in my forearms when I went to reach up on a shelf yesterday!
