quite a bit of fluctuation last week and not going overly well; couldn't motivate myself to any kind of exercise; hoping to do better this week!1 -

Is anyone out there doing the 5:2 Diet? I am trying. I seem to yo-yo between fast days, and on average have not made much progress at all. Any thoughts?
My DH and I started it about 2 years ago, a few months after his surgery. I convinced him to go on it, thinking mainly of the health benefits (?lower risk of cancer, fixing cells instead of creating cells, etc).
While he's been on it, I've had to stop it.
It's working well for him, because he enjoys ice cream and beer on his non-fast days.
For me, the fast/"feast" was creating a somewhat unhealthy way of eating, where I would starve or binge.
I had trouble controlling my eating, once I "opened the flood-gate".
So now it's back to lifting heavy, eating when I'm hungry, lots of fresh organic veggies.

Good thing I lost this week. I have been very diligent except for three days while tending my granddaughters. Finishing off a dish of "Cookie Monster Crunch" ice cream did a number on my calories (and made us both poop blue) but those slips should not have made my weight loss totally stall for 19 days. I even set a record for me of 20,600 steps one day but nothing budged until this morning. It is our 40th wedding anniversary today and we are going out for dinner but I will be vigilant. The restaurant's broiled shrimp are awesome, but then so is their key lime pie.2 -

Well, I tried it on this morning as a check-in, because I was planning to kill myself for the next 2 weeks to lose some more body fat/weight before my beach vacation.
Well, it looks pretty good! Yay!
So I think I will continue w/ my current really do-able training/eating plan.
Caveat: I can only wear the bikini in the morning, before I eat anything and bloat out! HhahahhaaaI am not usually a joiner. I am too embarrassed by my weight to even talk about it let alone post my numbers but maybe this challenge will help me.

Great job for sticking with it! 10# loss in 1.5months is a GREAT pace!
Are you doing body measurements? Have you notice that your clothes fit better/looser?
Are you doing any weight training or squats and pushups?
It's good to do weight training so that you retain your muscle mass as you lose weight (hopefully fat).
While I've lost only 0.4# in 3 weeks, I've lost half an inch in my waist.
I would gladly take losing half an inch of fat than to lose 1 pound on the scale.
Last note: Congratulations on your anniversary!
Quite a milestone.
SO you should definitely celebrate! Don't limit yourself today.
There's tomorrow for that. Go walk another 20K steps tomorrow.

I had surgery in early May and weighed about 245. Hard to say because I was retaining fluid. By late May I weighed 235, and I got back on MFP. I'm starting my log from when I have an MS P progress record and have adjusted dates when I weighed in close to the real day...

On 6/22 I weighed in at 180.4,. So I might redo my weigh in later this week after I lose some of this water weight. Gonna eat clean and drinks tons of water to get it flushed out.1
