Nice article about doubting yourself the night before the race.

    http://www.rockcreekrunner.com/2016/06/23/dear-future-me/

Oh goodness sorry my toe was so big LOL I posted from my phone so it didn't look so big! Dang I'm a freaking big foot, hope no one was eating when they opened that !!

LOL! When I first joined this group and heard of the toenail losses I was horrified. Now I'm on my 3rd and nothing with toes grosses me out.

I love it out here where I'm visiting my sister! It's in Washington but just over the Columbia River and Portland is on the other side. Temperatures are perfect this week for runs. It was drizzling this morning and just awesome! Headed to Victoria, BC tomorrow.
Speaking of toes, my husband broke his toe and a bone in the foot. He was going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and walked into the corner of a door - glad it happened when I was in KC last week! I wouldn't want to have heard that. So he's in a sandal type thing and this has put quite a damper on the hikes/biking we had planned. Hoping in a few days he can hike.

    6/1 - 22 miles cycling
    6/2 - 5 miles + strength training
    6/3 -rest and recovery day
    6/4 - 34 miles cycling
    6/5 - 42 miles cycling
    6/6 - rest day - only 4 hours sleep - didn’t think I should
6/7 - strength training + 1 mile on treadmill (tropical storm rest day)
6/8 - 5 miles - yay! finally. Even though it was 95% humidity.
    6/9 - 6 miles in the daylight!
    6/10 - travel/rest day
    6/11 - 4.28 miles in KC
    6/12 - 5.5 miles in KC
    6/13 - 4.4 miles approx
    6/14 - 5.28 miles - beautiful KC morning!
    6/15 - 5 more KC miles!
    6/16 - 6.1 KC Miles
    6/17 - 5.8 miles - last KC run
    6/18 - rest/travel day.
6/19 - rainy day, no biking 4.25 miles
    6/20 - 5.2 miles
    6/21 - rest/travel day
6/22 - 5.2 miles on the Washington side of the Columbia river
    6/23 - 5. miles - drizzling, cold, perfect morning for a run!

@ddmom0811 LOL glad I didn't gross you out and that you are enjoying your visit. Sorry about hubby's toe and foot, tell him I can feel his pain, quite literally.

Just received a text from my wife...I guess she picked up a hydration belt for me, I'm not sure I need one, but my wife feeding my running habit is always a welcome thing. The question for me now is, do I bring it on my LR on Sat to test it out for possible use in the HM I've got coming up?

Temps at race time will likely be 65-75 degrees, and having 2 small water bottles might be a nice supplement to the water stations every 2.5 miles...and If I want to be evil, I can put some iced coffee in one for an extra boost.....

I'm sure this has come up before. Not all my runs come over from Garmin to Strava, only one of Skip's in the past month has, is there somewhere I can look in Strava to see what the problem is?

    @greenolivetree great news

OK. My knees are finally feeling better and the massive DOMS from the 8-mile trek has mostly subsided, so I was able to do 3 miles today. Hooray!

One of my runs I had to manually download from Garmin and then re-upload to Strava. it was the same day as the Pub Run last week. I don't know what's up with them.

LOL Do the aid stations include sour cream and bacon bits?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....you guys are awesome. I was on my phone when I typed that.....It's now been changed....alas, as awesome as it would be, thereare no taters at the water stations for my HM.....which is why I'm debating bring the hydration belt, instead of my little 10oz flask....more water on me means less slowing down/stopping for water on the way....

Don't ask me, I usually carry a 32oz gatorade in my hand for all my long runs. I have gotten used to it.

LOL OK, I won't, it was more of a do I take the one with more water question. I'm used to carrying the 10oz in my rght hand, but having 2 water bottles and free hands seems like a good thing

Most definitely. If that baby rubs in an uncomfortable place or jiggles too much, you will want to know!

@stoshew71 did you have anything to drink when I saw you Saturday? I don't recall seeing a drink and what was that run 18 miles?

@MNlittlefinn just make sure no one throws a water cup at you like they did me on Saturday.

@stoshew71 thanks I'll manually input if it doesn't get happy soon. Last night only one of Skip's runs uploaded, today they are all there. She just sent me a text "OMG Momma Brandon York gave me a kudos on my run". Thanks for approving her into the MFP group on Strava too.

@kristinegift Tempo pace is tricky. It's always a little bit slower than you thing. It's very easy to run faster than that but that's the idea. It's not supposed to be hard and fast. I always tell myself to think about running fast then slow down about 30 seconds per km and that's my tempo pace

    Date.....Distance..Avg hr/Pace/km
    June 1 - 6.1 km - 156/5:47
    June 2 - 5.5 km - 154/6:00
    June 3 - 5.0 km - 153/6:12
    June 4 - 7.0 km - 184/4:25
    June 5 - 6.0 km - 143/6:27
    June 6 - rest
    June 7 - 6.0 km - 143/6:13
    June 8 - 6.8 km - 148/6:11 (Hot)
    June 9 - 5.8 km - 150/5:58
    June 10 - rest
    June 11 - 5.0 km - 184/4:26
    June 12 - 6.0 km - 149/6:05
    June 13 - rest
    June 14 - 7.6 km - 149/6:08
    June 15 - 6.0 km - 150/6:03

    June 17 - 7.0 km - 152/6:21 (Hell)
    June 18 - 5.8 km - 150/Slow, I didn't care
    June 19 - 11.0km - 155/6:06 (Easy hell)

    June 21 - 7.0 km - 178/4.37 (tempo)

If I recall correctly, as soon as I turned the corner at PF Changs and towards you guys, I threw the empty bottle in the garbage can right there. Lukily that day Holly and denise set out aid on the course in 2 spots. So I drank the entire 32 oz I had on me, plus 3 ice cold 8oz'ers on the course.

I didn't even notice she was in our strava group now. RSA blocks strava now. I have to go on from my phone app. PITA

Yup, and I made 3 others as admins in that group. So maybe 1 of them did.
