    I always am suspicious of people who use the word brisk. Like they are really saying cold but are all happy about it.

    I'm Canadian so I'm very familiar with the definition. Brisk means cold enough to be exhilarating without causing shivers. Crisp means the grass is frozen enough that it crunches when you walk on it.

    "Brisk" is similar, in my mind, to when the British use "bracing" to describe something... it usually means chilly, in my experience!

    Bracing falls between brisk and crisp.
