Decided to continue my post using my computer. I started MFP in 2010 at 202 pounds. Lost and gained a bunch of times and in March of 2016, I got up to 210 pounds. My doctor challenged me to lose 10 pounds by September but he said he preferred to see me lose 20. Here it is July 7 and I've lost 28 pounds since my all time high of 210. So Allison, I feel for you. This time I am making this a life style change-not a diet.

I called to make an appointment today with a new therapist and was told my insurance was 'terminated' on June 30. I was livid. I was told that it would continue through July then in August the company would pay half the first month of Cobra. So, another problem to address. I had my unemployment hearing and was granted unemployment, so at least that is done. Tomorrow, I have to get an application to withdraw my 401K certified, with my DH's signature no less b/c it will be over $5K, but not by much. I will use that to supplement unemployment as long as I can. I am hoping that my application for disability due to my back, neck, depression, and anxiety will go through before I run out of money.

Otherwise, doing good, just trying to deal with the stress and issues that come up with this change in my employment.

Hello to everyone and welcome to the newbies!

I think it was Karen in Virginia that posted the picture of the sewing room in a closet. WOW. Mine is not like that, not at all.

Cheri, so sorry about loosing the rental. I don't understand some of the rules and regulations these days. You have shown you pay your bills in impecable time and, no you don't have rental experience. But why does that matter. Glad you have and awesome rental agent who went beyond her call of duty to find you a better deal.

Allison, when will your life ever settle down. Even though it says to the kind of person you are that his family trusts you with this decision, it should not be just on you. What does his doctor suggest?

Well on day #5 we finally got a leak in that bag. But it was OK. And he had some itching areas under the bag and it felt so good for me to be cleaning his skin.

Hello ladies: Well DGD has gone home. We had a really good day yesterday swimming and playing games. She spent the night with us and she and her aunt built a fire last night and made s'mores after dinner. I passed on those. She likes our new barn cat but is not impressed with the rat presents. We got another one today.

I had a lovely visit with Rori and she was kind enough to post the picture. We were at a cafe and wine bar, very nice in the middle of a wine festival. I learned later that my DSon was also there for a concert. I also learned something about my new state that Woodinville is considered the Napa valley of WA. Who knew? But then I am not a wine aficionado. It was a fun time.

Lisa - Great front page!! We used to catch horned toads when we were kids. The RV looks great, I like the floor plan.

KJL - Has your DH been on long-term steroids for his RA? They can cause cataracts.

Barbie - Did you get the Boston Pops July 4th concert taped? We tried but got Gasworks park instead.

Cheri - Hope the new rental works out for you and that it is even better than the first.

Allie - Hang in there woman, you know how to do this.

Vicki - Glad you had good news on the arm.

Everyone take care, Sue in WA

I enjoyed Lisa's front page!!!! I also read through so quickly and will probably be late on replies as I had a super busy day.

    Tonight is busy too.

I had a quarrel with my daughter this a.m. about her website -- from my point of view, I had done an update in late April and since then was checking in with her about her needs to work on it more -- we had a problem with the "theme" because she changed the address and I wanted to work with her on that, plus she gave me more content to put up but I kept checking in with her during the last 2-3 months and she kept saying, no, it's not important now. Then suddenly this a.m. she said she is meeting with my sister to work on it. I said, Does Chrissy know WordPress. Oh I don't know... she says. It was like my daughter suddenly wanted it all updated, she didn't want to meet on the theme at all, and she didn't remember what we said in April. I got really angry which for me translated into saying, "Okay, well talk to you later." and we both hung up. I don't whether I'm fired from my freebie work for her or I'm quitting. I really wanted to do that for her but she is by my lights being difficult, but I could be wrong.

One of my sponsees in my 12 step program had a heart problem and is on bed rest. So I tried to call her today but she was not answering. She said she would call me tonight but I have ANOTHER sponsee to talk to and it is her regular night for time with me, and she has been anxiously awaiting the time. Last night I did go to the gym, I didn't sing, and I didn't work on either website. Tonight I'm skipping the gym. It's too much for me tonight.

I also have been playing phone tag trying to schedule massages I bought from group on.

and like I said work completely busy

I guess I'm doing okay ... my food is within limits, I have a job, and my daughter is going to have to put up with me because she doesn't have any other Mom's plus I was always the best one... he he. (She used to have a few other Mom's lol - her ex-boyfriend from teenage year Mom and her exboss but they both fell out with her.)

Anyway she and I are stuck with each other because not only is she my actual physical child, but we've been through too much together to let go of each other, but I will tell you -- I am not thinking she and I will work on any other projects together. She is a horrible boss for me. I need better communication and planning especially when I'm working for free. If I get rid of her website and my sister can handle it or my daughter can pay someone or find a different volunteer it will be good and I'm planning on getting rid of my other website this month and then I will only have my own creative projects after that. SO THERE WORLD. SUCK IT WORLD. LOL.

Sorry I apologize to your ladies for my rude outburst. Oh yah today at work I get to plan 4 more deployments because someone else is going on vacation as well as my regular work load. No pressure. LOL.

Thanks for letting me rant ... I will either do replies tonight or maybe tomorrow....

    Peace out,

grits wrote - Pip - you must have long legs if you are only 5'5" and you could straddle the bike without hitting your private parts. Are you saying that this bike did not fit you? I can't remember how I got fitted; but, I do remember someone 'holding the bike while I stood up on one peddle' ... had something to do with being able to reach the extended peddle while sitting on the seat and still have my back straight'. I have not ridden my bike in over 15 years (since about the time we moved out here) anywhere; but, it is the 'best' overall exercise. Was at my best weight and shape when I rode a bike every day. We live on a dirt road ... so tires are way too skinny to use it. I got just a cheap wide tired Wal-Mart bike one year after we moved out here; the first day I rode it I stood up and started 'pumping' the peddles and ended up falling over the handlebars. Every bolt on it had been put on by a 'power wrench' and all were 'stripped'. I took it back to Wal-Mart and told them that 'if had to have been put together by using a power wrench' and wanted a 'new' bike that had been put together by hand (or my $$$ back).

i have been told i have long legs. the bike that i had sloped downward slightly, didn't go evenly straight across. the guys at the bike shop where i bought my bike are the ones that said that bike was way to big (the frame) for a person of my size. you don't want to fully extend your leg on the downstroke pedal, it needs to be at a slight bend, they measure that. they put you on a bike trainer to see your stroke and it's a lot more complicated. you also don't want a straight back while pedaling and being measured, thats why they have you on a trainer while doing it.

Did an hour of Gin Miller Seriously Strength DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do Patrick Goudeau ExtremeCardio burn DVD.

I downloaded this DVD but I have it under another name. This is the DVD that I have: https://www.totalfitnessdvds.com/Seriously-Strong-DVD-Gin-Miller-p/772.htm. however, the one I downloaded is called Seriously Strength. But they are the same DVD. If someone would like it, I'd be glad to send it to you. It's on a DVD+R

pip - if you've never heard of a bike store that takes in bikes used to apply credit towards a new one, is there a way you would suggest our best chance to sell it?

Becca - Vince doesn't even stand outside the store when I'm looking for clothes. He takes me to the mall, drops me off, and then comes home

Joyce - what I do with that fusible stuff is I put a TINY piece of it under the tag on my shirt. You know, the one that tells you the size and all. Then I iron it so it stays down. Too many times I've had that tag sticking out. What a sewing find you had there! I had one with MIL passed away and I got most of her sewing things.

The Wii said that I lost 2lbs today. I'm thinking that part of that is that I didn't have anything to eat in the evening. anyway, I celebrated with a chocolate chip cookie (bad me). At least I had it early in the day so I'll have time to burn it off.

Karen in VA - Just to be sure I'm clear, I didn't lose 100% of my hearing, just partial. Like I said, I'll never get it back and should that tumor grow I might wind up losing more. But then again, it might not grow and I won't lose any more. The hosp where I went to see the specialist called to set up for the next MRI, I just asked them to call me back in Jan since I probably won't have it done until around April. It's just too early to make a definite commitment

Mary - good for you mixing up your exercise. It's always a good idea to do that. that's one of the premises of the P90X program - muscle confusion. You're doing so well with the weight loss and doesn't it feel good to get rid of clothes that you can no longer wear???

Lisa - that's wonderful that dh gets home by 4! Love your front page. Your publisher sure is lucky, and I bet he knows that

janetr - I can certainly relate to Jack's worrying.

Made the chicken salad for our neighbor today. I want to take it over to them later in the day so that I get those chocolate chip cookies out of my house! then baked (really, microwaved) some more purple potatoes for me to have. Vince will only eat white potatoes. No matter that they taste the same, they just don't look the same. If I liked potato salad, I would think they'd look really nice in a potato salad

Terri - so very glad to see you back!

Thank you for the compliments on the angelfish. As you know, I want color by the pool and to me, this is colorful. I also have a starfish, but that's mostly a light brown. Right now I'm working on a sea turtle. It'll be mainly blue and yellow

Cheri - sounds like you are really getting ready for this move. Isn't it exciting? Our last move was company done, so all the packing was done for us, which was nice. this time around we had to pack ourselves. Took a lot longer, but we're here. How wonderful that your son is going to be with you!

wickglamgirl - 50 pounds in one year is probably doable. There are 52 weeks in a year so that would be approximately 1 pound a week. Just remember that the closer you get to goal, the harder it is to lose so don't get discouraged.

Lisa - thanks for the listing of Texas-speak. I remember the first time I was called "mam" down here. I was walking out of a restaurant, this man held the door for me so I said "thank you very much". He said to me "you're welcome, "mam". I'm not old enough to be a mam! Culture shock! Here someone actually talks to you in the grocery store, that never happened when we were in PA. Another shocker. For the life of me, I just can't get used to a grocery cart being called a "buggie".

Made the chicken salad for the new neighbors, then made some purple potatoes for me to have, then went and cut more weeds. Vince came out and helped me since it was just cloudy outside. Came in and took the salad and chocolate chip cookies (good, they're out of my house) to the new neighbors. He was very nice. Not sure if the lady who answered the door was his wife or not. That person didn't say a word to me, so I don't know.

janetr - so glad to hear that things went well for Jack. I bet he's real relieved and so are you

Heather - hope all your tests come out great. I'm sure they will with your healthy lifestyle

    Susan - welcome

Cheri - so sorry about the house. You're probably better off without that kind of owner.

Re - when doing crunches, don't forget to also work your back muscles (the opposing muscle group). Don't want to be unbalanced....lol

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .

    Good Evening Ladies,
Janetr, you know I am here for you when you need me. *kitten*-kicking.gif groin-kick-smiley-emoticon.gif

Heather, the house was something to celebrate and congrats on passing up the wine that you wanted.
NYKaren, congrats to you. You can vent to us any time you need to. Glad you are making it through the family togetherness. very-nervous.gif

CarolGA, glad you got help with the painting. It sounds like the end is in sight. Safe travels to see your mom.

Mia, your surgery sounds like it would be a horrendous recovery. Glad it didn’t seem that bad to you. I’d love to eventually do the low stomach skin removal but don’t know that I ever will.

Joyce, so glad the bag is still on. That has to make Charlie feel a little better, I hope. Your decorating ideas sound great.

Barbie, so glad Jake is getting better. It sounds like it really likes having you near. *bless your heart* My DH loves to tell everyone that after his open heart surgery I gave him a bell to ring if he needed anything, but told him if he rang it more than once I’d stick it where the sun don’t shine. sexy-nurse-waving-smiley-emoticon.gif

MicheleNC, Vince did a great job with the fish.

Chris, I think you found yourself a winner. Go girl.

I am behind again because I didn’t have much time to read here today. This morning I went to work out at the gym. Then came home, showered, dressed and off to meet a friend for a late lunch. We had a nice visit and then on my way home another friend called and had some fresh tomatoes and peaches for me to come pick up. I sure wasn’t going to turn that down so to her house I went. By the time I got home it was almost 5:00. I washed the tomatoes and put some in the fridge to cool for supper then DH and I watched some tennis on TV while we caught up on the day. Soon it was time to fix dinner and first thing I know, here I am and it’s 10:00 and I’m about to fall asleep. I’ll catch up tomorrow ladies. Sending love and good thoughts to all of you and I hope you all have a Happy and Healthy Day! rainbow-smiley-emoticon.gif

Sue, yes I was able to record the Boston Pops concert but it was a disappointment---too much "pop" music and not enough patriotic music to suit me :'( ...the bottom of the page was a "crawl" with tweets about the Gasworks park concert

Cheri, sometimes what seems like a disappointment can be a blessing....those other landlords lost out for a silly reason and you ended up with a better place thanks to your great agent. :)

Vicki, great news about your arm...I am doing a happy dance for you, too :)

Allison, maybe it's time for you to make a decision based on what's good for you <3

Re, your DH sounds like a fabulous guy...you are fortunate :)

Lisa, your paper looks great...thanks for sharing it with us :)

DJ, Jake is able to get around with the help of a walker but he needs me to pick things up from the floor and do anything that requires lifting. He continues to be a good patient. :)

I went to two line dance classes today and Jake and the dogs survived without me....I told him to get in bed for the last hour or so before I came home so the dogs wouldn't bother him to go out and it worked. Tomorrow I'll be gone a little longer for the class I teach, but I won't have to worry about him or the dogs.

Barbie: Glad to hear that Jake is getting better and Brandy will heal with rest.

Beth: Belated happy birthday. Hope it’s your best year ever.

Allison: Welcome home. May the good memories of your trip help you with re-entry back to reality. Glad to hear you commit to better eating.

Mia: Great to see you again.

Michele: So sorry to hear about the hearing loss, but at least no surgery needed. Your collection of ceramic animals must look so cute around the pool. Photos, please!

Lisa: I love the montage of headshots. Yours is a story of grit and positive thinking. What an eye catching front page.

Keytone Karen: Got a lump in my throat reading the story of your childhood illness. Thanks for sharing.

Charleen: I live in Littleton, but didn’t know about the tiny home movement in Boulder. Very interesting. Your place sounds lovely. I’m right at the base of the Hogback range, close to Red Rocks. Let me know if you are ever in the neighborhood.

Janetr: Big relief for you and Jack. Brought back memories of what I went through with my DH who never even filled his pain prescription. If you want to meet up while you’re driving through Colorado, message me. Maybe if we go into or north of downtown Denver, Charleen can join us?

Margaret: Yikes! Can’t imagine how distressing it must be to have any foreign critter in your ear. Thanks for the tips on how to handle it. As for rabbits, the neighbors welcome my cat into their garden as they swear that just having the scent of his dander repels the bunnies. One actually comes out and ‘rewards’ Mars with a piece of deli turkey.

AnnC: I am the queen of sloowww losing. I average about ½ a pound a month after many ups and downs throughout the month (I weigh in every AM). My pants size and other dimensions have dropped much more dramatically.

NYKaren: Congrats on rocking the higher weights and even more kudos for handling family stress.

Re: Bravo on your commitment to morning exercise. I’m in our condo gym at 5 every AM and totally agree with your assessment of how accomplished it makes one feel.

Rororosie: I’ve experienced similar aggravation with the front office of my integrated medical group. Hope you can get the labs covered by insurance.

Joyce: Glad to hear the bag is staying in place. Hope that Charlie is feeling better and brighter every day.

Chris in MA: Any man who shops with and for you…WOW! Keeper in my book. So happy for you.

Katla: Have fun with your pals in Portland. I’m going to be working there next week.

Vicki: Glad the doctor gave you a positive report.

Miriam: ((((hugs+++))))) You deserve to be happy.

I’m not caught up with reading all your posts, but it’s past my bedtime, so will post this now and hit the hay. Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Miriam I understand how dealing with families after suicide made you realize it was no longer an option. One time I was in so much pain I briefly considered it. Then I remembered the pain in my mother's voice when I told her about a cousin's son who died at sixteen. She thought I was calling to tell her our son had died. It was remembering the pain in my mother's voice that stopped me from even thinking about it. Fortunately I completely recovered from my illness.

Rori We did have a fox living under the deck next door and one year we had a feral cat that held the bunny population in check. The problem with the cat was it also went after the birds. Unfortunately I am allergic to cats, so getting one is not an option. I already am noticing the plants improving that I put chicken wire around. They were the ones that were hardest hit by the rabbits.

    Michele glad tumor benign.

Tomorrow morning I will be driving in to Portland to meet some very dear friends for breakfast. We worked together for years and get together for breakfast a few times a year. This time one of our group who moved to New York will be in town. We rarely get to see her, so this is a special treat.

Rosie, what kind of work do you do. I must have missed it. I just know you seem like a busy ambitious woman who has the gift of knowing the rights things to say to people to help lift them up.

Michele, did that tumor cause your seizure? So glad you are better now and I love the colors on your last ceramic piece.

Well bag did come off tonight. It doesn't bother me that it didn't make 6 days. I don't know how things are going to do when his incision no longer needs packing. that's when I inspect every inch of that seal. I would imagine by this time next week I won't need to do the packing. Maybe sooner.

We sure had the storms today. Lots of major trees and electric lines down. Still a lot of people without power and our heat index is in the triple digits now. Sure glad we had our tree taken down.

DJ, your butt kicking is wicked.

Morning, all... a quick run-through, as I need to catch up the bookkeeping.

We got the camper trailer in last night, and literally within five minutes after the delivery guy pulled away, the storm sirens went off. Hailed, rained buckets, and was gone again in an hour... and the yard behind the warehouse looked like we'd parked the Puma on the beach! But, we just waded across with enough stuff to make dinner, and the DH cooked--we had to cook there anyway, because the warehouse is all electric, and that went out, too. But with a gas stove in the camper, it was no sweat. About halfway through cooking, the power came back on, so we could get the A/C up. Haven't figured out why life is always an adventure for me and mine, but it always seems to be. I'm OK with it. :)

Once the majority of the water subsided, we went back across, got the mattresses swapped out, and took across enough to stay the night, as we do plan to sleep in it - much easier to cool than the warehouse. I'll be nesting all day Saturday while he's working, making things comfortable without cluttering them up. We'll use both places as necessary, but with the camper now onsite, we are within the city codes. Now, since we're not living in the warehouse anymore, we can begin using the address as our residential address. Makes me so happy not to be skirting the law. Feel like a burden's been lifted.

Thank you all SO much for the comments on the newspaper's front page design--I'm exceedingly proud of that page for any number of reasons, and my publisher is, too. She flipped out (in a good way) over the original design, and seeing it in print made me so happy. The DH is enjoying his job, too, and already being called a de facto crew leader, no surprise to me at all. He was exhausted last night, much busier day yesterday, but still made sure we got it all done before he headed for the bed.

See, that wasn't quick at all, now was it? Got to go now, though!

Cheri, I'm so glad you got a great realtor, hope the new lease works out.

Love y'all, (and Lenora, didn't take your comments as correction at all... :) I ain't that way.)

    Morning Ladies~
I have to take a deep breath and pray that I make the right decision
I still try and live by the serenity prayer,I have to have the courage to change the things I can,the serenity to accept the things I cant change and the wisdom to know the difference...
I would like to make some phone calls this morning, but I start work at 9 and we are flat out until at least 4 ,I will make pb and J as we might run through lunch.. and bring some fruit..
next weekend is my brother's wedding and I am the one who has to get Jeans mom dressed and bring her down to the wedding and bring her home and get her to bed, stay over night and then to work ,then home for the night and ,will be with her for the next week after that.. and this time I think the dog will be there this time, but they will have someone come and take him out a few times during the day
